Richard, did the inside design and mounting, is as meticulous as I am, and everyone knows my OCD. We have 4-170 watt panels mounted on ®SolaRVector electric tilt modules which are remote controlled. The panels feed a Magnum PT-100 MPPT Charge Controller, the controller leaves room for future panel expansion. The charge controller feeds solar power to 3-150ah LiFeBlue Lithium batteries which in turn feeds a Magnum MSH 3012 hybrid inverter. I chose the hybrid to supplement 15watt shore power when parked in friends driveways. We monitor and control the system with the Magnum ME-ARC remote control and ME-BMK-NS battery monitoring kit. The final touch is a automatic generator start control. The Magnum ME-AGS-N will start the generator when the battery state of charge drops below 20% charge, and when the temperature inside the RV raises above 90 degrees. We have operated the system five weeks since installation. The system has been flawless.

What actually happened was weeks of touch and go work by several different techs before the system did what I was told it would do when I signed the contract. The crew showed up on time that first day. Joseph, the lead, showed up an hour late. At the end of the shift he made a point of complaining about staying late, which was him making up the hour he'd missed, and they wouldn't stay the two hours it would have taken to actually finish. The job got left unfinished and my Powerwall got left sitting outside uncovered. They had to send a tech back out on a separate trip just to put the cover on it, and this was during a stretch when we were getting scattered showers. Before the install I told Andre, my project manager, that I didn't want panels anywhere roof vents would put shade on them. They installed two right next to a taller vent anyway, so depending on where the sun was, one or the other sat in shade for part of the day. If you're looking at a string inverter system, this matters much more than it sounds like it should. Panels on a string are wired in series, so the entire string produces at the level of its weakest panel. A single shaded panel doesn't just cost you that panel's output, it drags down every panel on the string for as long as the shade is there. That's the whole reason I brought it up before they started. They ended up having to come back out and relocate both. The backup is the part I'd want anyone considering this company to read. I never asked for anything less than whole home backup, not one time, and I signed on the assurance that my whole house would run on solar. What was actually written into the contract was partial, essentials only backup. When I raised it, nobody at the company could trace back a single piece of communication showing how that decision got made or who made it. Then after the install it came out that the solar couldn't see any load that wasn't on the backup panel, which meant most of my house was never going to run on solar the way it had been described to me. Their answer to that was an energy monitor. I spent weeks troubleshooting it before we established that it could only see half of my EV charger's draw, so it was never going to solve anything. Their next proposal was to move the charger onto the backup panel and bill me for the whole home backup that should have been scoped correctly in the first place. They had also missed my HVAC controller. So when the power went out, my air conditioning went out with it and roughly 90% of my house sat dark in the middle of the day at peak solar production. In Arizona. That is the single scenario this system exists to prevent. I also ended up running the entire interconnection process with my utility, ED3, mostly on my own. Coordinating with the power company is squarely a project manager's job, and honestly it was one of the specific reasons I wanted a company that assigns a dedicated PM to every install. Andre was AWOL for that whole process. I was the one tracking where things stood, following up, and keeping it moving. Beyond that, Andre kept telling me things were normal when they clearly were not, and nothing got resolved unless I pushed for it myself. At one point he forwarded me a reply asking for a photo I had already provided in that same email chain. When it escalated, Brett, one of the owners, asked me why I had agreed to a partial backup, which put his own company's scoping error back on me, and then told me he'd lose money covering the whole home backup because of how far out I live. Most of those trips he was counting were rework his own team created. I chose Green Muscle in part because every job gets a dedicated project manager. That turned out to be the weakest part of the entire experience. The system works now, months later, and only because I wouldn't let it go.

The staff were friendly with our dogs and did an outstanding job on the install, walking us through what they did and makong sure we were comfortable with the work - even letting us boondock overnight to confirm everything was as expected. Highly, highly recommended and the only place I'd take an RV for solar work. We'll definitely use them again if needed!

Natasha was professional and very clear with communication from the start. She set proper expectations on communication with Tesla would take a week or two. The day she received the go ahead from Tesla she called and scheduled the install asap 4 days out. Later the same day they had a cancellation and were able to get everything scheduled the next day. Anthony and Jeremiah arrived at the beginning of the arrival window! They were professional, great with communication, and ready to work. I had several questions and they were prepared for all of them and super helpful. The battery removal and install took less than an hour. Naturally Tesla's update took twice as long. LOL. Still total time was under 3 hours. I have managed 100s of installers and worked in Solar, this was a fantastic expierence! Because the Tesla 3 has more storage than the 2 I asked about adding some of my Breakers to the back-up and they had options for us to do that. Obviously we Highly Recommend This Team!

Very disappointed with Option One Solar…read more My Tesla Powerwalls & panels aren't producing & storing energy like before & I set up an appointment with Tesla through their app but the next available appointment was Oct 1st?! This was late July when I set up a service call. An over 2 month wait?!? So I got in touch with Option One Solar, to have them service my solar equipment. Setting up the appointment was easy, people on their end booked an appointment for the following Monday & I was charged the service call fee of $500. Ok I guess, I need these Powerwalls & panels looked at & hopefully fixed sooner than the Oct 1 Tesla appointment. My electric bill was $226! Their service guy came out, I told him what was going on/not going on & he looked in the panels, ran diagnostics through his phones informing me that the panels were working, then not working, and working again. He called Tesla support (Tesla installed this system almost 5 years ago). So basically the Tesla support guy on the phone said that Tesla has to come out & look & repair the system since they were the ones that installed it. So there was nothing Option One Solar could do otherwise it would void my warranty. I'm sure Option One Solar is a good company but they really didn't do anything but made a phone call to Tesla to let me know there was nothing they could do & that I would just have to wait till Oct for my Tesla appointment. I understand that the guy came out to diagnose & troubleshoot the problems & yeah I should be charged for his time, but for $500? I called their office to tell them what happened & asked for at least a partial refund since no physical work was done. They said they would put it in their notes & inform the team members. I wish I knew to NOT call them & just waited & I would've saved $500. I reread the contract & yeah it is stated clearly how much their fee is to come & look & troubleshoot & diagnose but that was an expensive phone call to Tesla for them to tell me, sorry you gotta wait, there's nothing we can do. I won't be calling them for any solar services, this experience wasn't a good one for me.

I know there are lots of solar energy companies but we're glad we chose Rooftop Solar. Our sales rep, Michelle was very knowledgeable & never pushy, project manager, Vanessa was helpful. They took care of minor issues after installation when the builder's one year inspection was done. Great customer service & we highly recommend them for solar energy needs. We're saving lots of money for energy bill & really happy with our decision.
