Sadly, Ive heard from many other former customers of similar experience with your company. We made an appointment, couple weeks out. Got there on time but they had a job that was running over. They gave us a nice level place to park with Electricity. Guys answered all our questions on our addition of a solar panel and new solar controller. Even when I noticed our batteries were not charging on shore power (not to do with anything they did) they helped me resolve my issue. Fair prices. We will be back. read more

After having a solid battery and solar system for years we finally had a power issue. Paul came out to do a brief inspection and found the issue within 10 minutes! We couldn't be more happy! We were charged only $33.75 which was for our appt. reservation. Other than that, NO CHARGE. We were so impressed with the team, we made another appointment and added a little more solar and a larger charge controller. I stopped in and talked with them about an issue with my solar. After thinking about it, I called this morning and was laughed at on the phone and made to feel foolish because I need mobile help. The person on the phone , after telling me, laughing, you gotta bring it in!! He then said we have mobile guys we work with...OMG, why not just say that without the jerk reaction! Awful customer service ! They claimed it was the phone system, but I hung up after the extremely rude treatment!! They have my number to call and make it right, but silence. We had an out of the ordinary monster solar system installed. 3,200 watts out of six commercial panels, 900 Ah of storage, two inverters, and three chargers. It has been over two years without a hitch. Complicated though our install was, the crew did a terrific job. This great solar system has allowed us to boondock all over the US, while enjoying our public lands and seeing fantastic sites. My suggestion for your solar project: get more panels and wattage than you think you need. You'll get your value back. We are very pleased with the products and service offered by Solar Bill. I visited two other shops in Quartzsite to get estimates. Neither seemed interested in my business. Solar Bill provided a detailed estimate to add a solar panel and two lithium batteries to the factory- installed equipment already in place in our 2022 Flagstaff Classic 842BWS. We set up the appointment well in advance. On the day of the work, the job was completed quickly and for less than the estimate. We had a little glitch in the system because the existing (cheap) charge controller wasn't working right. A return visit took care of that with a better quality controller. I made a third visit to have new connectors put on a portable panel I have, to charge my Rockpals portable power pack. Completely satisfied. read more

Highly recommend Solar Bill's Company in Quartzite AZ for all your RV solar needs. I drove out from the Palm Springs area, two hours away. The technician, Johnny, was on the job and quickly diagnosed the solar issue. My Victron Solar system was installed incorrectly in that the shunt was only connected toto one battery. My four Li batteries always showed 100% full, but also a low battery indicator. Johnny found that only one battery was running my RV's house and the other three were not. That explains why my house equipment would not stay on very long unless plugged into shore power. The one battery that was being used would not hold a charge and needed replacing. The shunt needed to be hooked up correctly, so all batteries worked. Johnny's experience, knowledge, and determination to solve the problem was outstanding. Even after buying a new Li battery, I left with a smile on my face knowing the problems had been resolved. read more

Last year, I had a minor problem with a solar cable on the roof of my RV that Solar Bill's installed a few years ago. They fixed the problem at no charge! Recently, I had a short where a bunch of negative wires come together at one of my lithium batteries. It still worked, but occasionally the power to trailer would shut off. I would have to tighten or wiggle the negative wires. Well, Solar Bill's fixed and tested my system for free again!! I drove out to Solar Bills from the Imperial Dam after my solar and batterIes quit on me last week. Last Friday afternoon they found some wiring that was hooked up wrong and some were bad, and a blown fuse on the solar. Stayed the night there which was fun getting to visit with them at their bon fire! Made friends with Christie and Laura who were getting work done as well. Saturday we went to the annual music festival while they installed DC to DC and a Controller for Shore Power; also fixed more issues and small fire from an existing wire! Huge shout out to the team for all their work, Kevin their tech has great skills solving problems, you rock! Johnny supervised and stepped in a gave a hand at the end. Absolutely professional, businesslike, skilled and proficient. Sounds pretty cold, but the owner and staff are also personable, patient and kind. Three years ago they installed two 150W panels and three lithium iron batteries on our 19 ft Black Series off-road camper. They asked us to stay overnight after the installation to make sure that the installation was working well the next day. They have water and electric hookups on their property for customers to stay overnight for morning appointments and for after installation checks after an overnight. After using the system for a year, we came back for two more panels and one more battery. Same great people and service. Same check after an overnight to see that all was well. Over the next year the system efficiency decreased, seemingly in a random way. On our annual trip; back to Solar Bills. We came in late afternoon for our morning appointment. After several techs looked at the problem, their top tech methodically went through the system for over an hour and solved the problem. Cost to us, free! They warrant their work. We travel many rough roads for several months every year. Our unit and systems take some punishment. It's situations like this that really show what a company stands for. I will return to Solar Bills in Quartzite for all my RV solar needs ... upgrading our present camper or perhaps a new RV. I do recommend Solar Bills to all my camping friends. read more

This is my 3rd year going to solar Bill's, in 12-2021 I had a 400w solar system put onto my 2016 Motorhome, with that done we found out this was just not enough so the next year 12-2022 we had Solar Bill's update our system to 1200w and a new Victron MPPT 150/100A charge controller. Then after this was install We found out that my wife is a engery hog! We we all are not just wife . well guess what? back to Solar Bill's in 11-2023 and this time we had them put on a new system 800w and one more Victron MPPT 150/70A charge controller. Now we have a total of 2000w and doing great so for but a little sad that this may be the last time seeing all my family at Solar Bill's, and I say family because they treat you just like family. When you go to Solar Bill's it will be $100.00 Deposit to setup your appointment. When you get in for the appointment they check to make sure that all the parts will for fit on your rig, At this time they will ask you to pay for the parts. When the parts are paid they will start the install. Just to let you all know after all the work was done all 3 years the final cost was lower then they quote!!! Took my van into Solar Bill on 1-10-23 to recharge my battery. Made an appointment for the next day to have system checked out. They quoted me 135.00 hour with 100.00 deposit. went in next day and they check out system and everything was ok. It took 30 minutes. The total bill came to 188.75. s charged 20.00 for battery charge. then charged for 1.25 hrs at a rate of 135.00 hr as quoted. I said why the 168.75?? She said because 2 technicians checked my van out. I told her (counter lady) The next time they give a quote they need to be more specific AND LET CUSTOMER KNOW ITS 135.00 HOUR PER TECHNICIAN. NEVER HEARD OF SUCH NONSENCE. read more

After purchasing a new mobile home in March 2018. I made my first snowbird exodus to Quartzsite AZ in September 2018. Upon joining and interacting with rv-owners, who have been making this trip for years. It was suggested that I purchase a portable solar system or have a solar panel installed on the top of my mobile home to enhance its efficiency during long stays in deserts and on BLM properties. At this time, Solar Bill's was the nearest installers to my location which was recommended by a few BLM residents. Based on limited recommendations and no further research, I visited this store on 12/12/2018. Upon informing an employee that their store was recommended as a place that sells portable solar systems, which I was there to purchase. I was immediately told how easily, and often portable systems are stolen. So, I was discouraged from purchasing the portable system, but convinced it was to my advantage to have a solar panel installed on my roof. As a result, I ended up having a solar panel installed on the roof of my mobile home which required me to park on this store's parking lot for two-days while they worked me into their schedule. Therefore, from where I sat on this business's patio, I personally witnessed two employees (a male and female) struggle to install two-red batteries into the battery compartment of my mobile home. I am sure, the owner of Solar Bill's never expected me to return to Quartzite for a second exodus on October 4, 2019. However, if I hadn't return, and weren't having problems with flickering lights and my generator not starting which resulting in me having my batteries checked at a nearby Pilot Flying Service Center. Then being informed one of the batteries was dead. In addition, the fraud implemented by this company was further uncovered by the O'Reilly Auto Parts employee, who struggled to dislodge both red-batteries in order to install the new battery. At which time he stated, "You shouldn't be upset about replacing this battery since you've had it for six-years." Once he showed me both batteries were dated March 2012. At this point, I informed him that my mobile home was a 2018 which we both shared with his supervisor. Solar Bill's charged me $140.00 each ($280.00) for two deep cell six-year old batteries and the ultimate theft of my nine-month battery which I am sure was sold to another customer as new. The bottom line is this company had gotten away with this scam and its fraudulent business practices until my 2019 return to Quartzsite. My friend brought me components to set up a small system for him. The charge controller came from Solar Bill's. My friend was excited thinking he had bought a nice charge controller that he paid $50 for. I had to break it to him that it was a cheap low quality controller. The same controller is $9.00 with free shipping on the manufacturer's website. Furthermore the charge controller never enters float it constantly stays at 14.4 and will not drop. This is a receipe for a "China Bomb" and makes me lose faith in humanity when sharks like him manage to stay in buisness. I always try to support small/family owned businesses. Solar Bill's definitely qualifies and because of that, I'm updating my original post. The issue was that my new batteries were not installed properly. I had to hire a local mechanic to get it fixed. Yep, I was pissed and said so in my original post. The Solar Bill team searched through their records and contacted me to find out what happened (showed caring). They offered to send a tech to make it right, even though we're over an hour away (shows commitment to the customer), they generally cared which we don't see much of anymore..... especially in the RV industry. Everyone, in my book, gets one "aw shit" moment. Solar Bill, this is yours! Everybody makes a mistake now and then. Owning it and trying to take care of your customer wins big in my book! Be careful they use bait and switch tactics. I went in there twice to see how much they would charge for small job ( should have been an hour job) I was told both times 165 per hour so I figured it would be about 1 to 2 hours woman told me 2 hours that they were not busy and introduced me to the employee that would work on it. When I came back for the invoice it was for 4 and a quarter hours even though it was only there for 2 hours. She then told me that she had 2 employees working on it and I got charged 165 per hour for each employee had I know this in advance I would never agreed to that. Total scam artist. Very bad business.And on top of that they did a really bad job! read more

I was having problems with my solar system that it would not keep my batteries charged. Their first thought was to look at the batteries. They pulled the batteries out and put them on an equalizer machine. While some people might've tried to sell me new batteries but they offered to keep them on the charger all night to see if they will come to life. They gave me a loaner battery to keep my rig going through the night and the next morning they were taking a charge and holding it. Wonderful service and really nice people. I'll definitely come back for anything else Solar related. read more

Solar Bills refused to sell 2 short 12" strands of wire to me so I could repair the solar system already installed on my motorhome. They said, "We need all of our wire for ourselves." Very smug. "Why don't you try Discount Solar?" On my way to the other end of town I passed Carquest Auto Parts which had the common 12V wire. the attitude at Solar Bills is straight out of the hard nosed business practices of the worst of LA. I would highly recommend Solar Bill's in Quartzsite, AZ to anyone interested in adding a solar system to their RV or camper. The product lines they carry are top of the line, their technicians are very knowledgeable and bright. Both management and technical staff communicated directly and clearly with us during both the estimate and sales, and the installation processes. We have been here three times, once for the initial installation of our system and again a year later for 2 extra roof mounted panels and an additional battery since we live, thus often camp, in the Midwest where there are a lot of shade trees. Once we became customers, we also felt that we were taken into the Solar Bill family. When we returned this winter we were treated like old friends. After this year's additional panels were installed, we encountered some very rainy weather in California and discovered that our older trailer's roof leaked. Not knowing quite where to get the leaks fixed, we called Solar Bill's for advice. We were not only given the name of a very competent and trustworthy RV roofer, but we were able to meet him at the Solar Bill's business, which made us feel much more comfortable. Needless to say, the roof repair is going very well at a fair price. We not only have Solar Bill's to meet our solar needs and have a great roofer and overall maintenance man in Quartzsite, but we now have "family" here! The worst customer service ever. You will be hassled from the beginning to the end. I was there for 9 hours for a 3 hour installation. They "require" payment for parts before they have them. Apprentice time is billed at $110/hour. Workers have foul mouths and are very stressed. Avoid this place. read more

We took our 5th wheel that has a solar package installed from the factory in for trouble shooting. Our system didn't seem to be working right. Johnny climbed up on the roof and removed one of our solar panel and found that panels were placed to close to the ac units and that was causing problem due to the shade of ac units. He and his crew installed bracket so we could tilt each panel to capture the most sun. Johnny also reprogrammed our inverter and replaced our controller. After he took the time to get everything working he walked us through the whole system and explained how everything works and how it is programmed. Johnny also asked us to stay so he could watch the reprogramed system over night. He did some small adjustments the next morning and sent us on our way. Johnny is very knowledgeable and an all around nice guy. You can tell he loves his job and is excellent at it. I highly recommend Solar Bills to everyone. We will come back again if we ever have any problem or get a new rig and need a solar system installed. What a wonderful company. thanks everyone that worked on our 5th wheel. We had a panel that had been flat mounted to our roof. In the summer with the sun high in the sky, this is no problem. However, in the winter with a lower sun, we weren't getting a good charge from our panel. We went to Solar Bill to have it remounted with tilt mounts. They were very professional and careful working our on RV. We feel the price was fair too. We can now angle our panel for maximum exposure. read more

They did an ok job, but would not return. Installed cheap glass fuses that kept melting. When we went back and said we were having problems with our solar, not realizing what the problem was, they wouldn't discuss the possible problems, just wanted us to bring our rig back in. Ka-Ching. We went and talk to another solar guy at another place and he suggested we check the fuses. Overall I just wasn't happy with the service. When I spend that much money I want some help and suggestions on something they installed when it's not working. We put better fuses in and the system was fine. They had assured us we could run the tv for a certain amount of hours, which it never came close to. read more
