I've used Quashnock's appliance for all of our major appliances for over a decade. the prices are fair (even compared to Lowe's), and Al's service is great. He delivers, installs and takes the old appliance, plus fixes any problems. I've read the negative reviews and though I can understand why some fine his mother unfriendly, I think she's cordial, just not over-the-top. I'll use Quashnock again and again. read more

I bought almost $4000 worth of appliances from Quashnock's less than two years ago, and the dishwasher started giving error codes in early February. Al came promptly and tried a fix. He didn't charge me for the visit, as he wanted to see if it worked. An hour after he left, I realized what he did had not worked, and I called and told his mother that the dishwasher was still giving the error codes. When I did not hear from him over a week later, I called again. She told me he was sick and would get to me when he could, and she seemed miffed that I had the nerve to call. I hoped he was not seriously ill. We were still in the height of Omnicron. If someone is sick, they have every right to recover in peace. Four weeks went by, and still nothing. Since I was already conveniently over the warranty period, I figured I had nothing to lose by calling another dealer. Grampian Appliance came to me and checked things out. They couldn't believe what they found. A small wad of paper towel had been taped haphazardly around the hose. Now I needed a new sump, motor, and more. The fix would be over $500. I called Quashnock's back and inquired about Al's health. His mother said he was fine. I asked when he would come back, and told her about what Grampian's guy had found. She said she couldn't hear me and hung up. Al, it's time for Mom to retire. She is costing you a ton of business. read more

Don't do business with these people. Sometimes they answer their phone; sometimes they don't. I've called twice this week to set up a service visit for a stack washer/dryer, and the person in the office who took my calls both times was very rude to me. She acted as if she didn't care about my business (or anything else, for that matter -- zero personality, zero customer service attitude). Although I hope the appliance can be repaired, I have a feeling it may be time for a new washer/dryer. But I will NOT be making the purchase at Quashnock's. read more

We've always called Quashnock's Appliance for repairs of our Maytag and other appliances. Never had a problem. Phone calls were always returned within a reasonable amount of time and we've had at least six service calls on various appliances over 15-17 years. Service was always prompt and the owner is always courteous and helpful and never pushes a product if an appliance can be easily fixed, even if you didn't purchase it from him. Repair prices are very reasonable. We've also bought appliances from him and had no problems there either, they were professionally delivered and installed. read more

I called Quashnock's because they came recommended. I soon found out this was a mistake! When I first called I left a message which was returned around 8p.m. that evening. They said that they would be over by 8 a.m. the following morning which they were. Our refrigerator had quit working a few days before and I just wanted someone to look at it and replace the part or parts that were bad. The man who came put a "replacement" part on to see if it was the actual issue, saying that he would get back in touch by noon. I asked what I owed and he said nothing until he found out if it was the part that needed ordered or not. Sounds fair, right? I received no call at noon or again for that matter. When I tried calling them my calls were not answered. Two days later I went out and bought a new fridge from a more trusted local business. read more

My wife spent 1 1/2 hours on the phone today dealing with a service problem on a 3 year old washer from a box store. She was sent to 3 different numbers with a wait time on each. We learned our lesson well. When our 3 year old freezer from the same box store failed us, Al delivered a new freezer for us and set it up the next day. We've never had an issues with anything Al has done for us. I'll highly suggest buying appliances from a local dealer with their own service guy or guys. We have no complaints about Al's mother who is the person you deal with at the store. I think the complaints here about her are overstated. This business has been here for many, many years. Quahnock's should be nicer to people, considering that the locally-owned businesses are all going under. Al's wife is not friendly at all. Maybe after a couple cocktails and Xanax she becomes like this, having to deal with Al and then he leaves in the morning and her boozing begins. Just a guess. read more

I have gotten my appliances from Al since 1999, when we built our house. This includes ovens, microwaves, dishwashers, refrigerators, washer and dryer. I always found his business to be quite hospitable. If there were any repair issues, he would come the same day or the next day. I like dealing with a business in town rather than buying big-ticket items from a big-box store. Please give Quashnock's a try. read more

Quashnocks has never failed me yet. I have many friends that are of the same opinion. Alan is very friendly, knowledgeable and prompt. I highly recommend him. The LADY that answers his phone for him while he is out on calls is his MOTHER. Have a little respect. This is a small family business and his father was just as reliable as Alan. If you want a big box store experience with people who really DON'T care about your service call a chain store. read more
