I did a quick search for a cabin between the San Juan Islands and Portland and this spot popped up. It was exactly what I was looking for. A Rustic tiny house in the middle of the woods. Lemongrass the sweet orange cat greeted me upon arrival. So did a beautiful fawn. So much flora and fauna, that you will be immediately engulfed by nature. There are different themed cabins. I passed Glass, Jewel and Cozy on the way to my cabin, Lantern. Plenty of amenities to take this up quite a few notches from camping, and still maintain that disconnected vibe. I was able to use the refrigerator at the fully stocked outdoor kitchen to chill a few things I brought with me. The restroom in front of the kitchen has a modern hot shower, toilet and sink. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash are provided. In the cabin you have towels in the compartment behind the door. There is a heat wave going on right now, but if it was colder, there's a great little space heater inside the cabin. I slept great. Woke up to the sunrise, birds chirping, and trees everywhere. I would absolutely recommend staying here, and next time I'll bring stuff to make s'mores around the fire pit. Five stars.

One of the best parts is that so many of the original features are still there. You really can get a sense of what it must have been like to stay here in the early 1900s, but without it feeling neglected or forgotten. The food that was available next door was okay, but very greasy. The employees at both coffee shops within the hotel and casino, do not know how to make espresso drinks very well, if at all. The room was nice, spacious and clean. The bed was decent and they did give you two complimentary waters in the fridge. They also had an abundance of dogs on the premises. It did not seem as though they do a very good job separating the rooms that animals are allowed in vs. not allowed in. The air vent in the room made a very loud noise that was pretty annoying when trying to sleep. The hotel was overall I say 3 stars. There was good and bad. I wouldn't necessarily choose it at a place to go again, unless I had to go to the area.

The park has many permanent residents, spots for long-term stays like ours, and several pull-thrus for overnighters. Not easy to get a reservation but well worth it if you can. Price is very reasonable. The park is kept very clean, laundry facilities are wonderful and not too expensive ($1.25 per load washer and dryer), and there is a sweet little stream running through the park sided by a large grassy area that was wonderful for our dog to run and play. No one objected to him being off leash there, but he comes when he's called, so I'm not sure how people would react to a dog that isn't under control. There were some ducks in the stream and a little bridge that crosses it. We felt very safe here and had quiet neighbors. There was noise from Trosper Road, but not more than the usual two-lane road, and certainly better than freeway noise would be in some of the other parks. Fred Meyer, UPS/fax store, Albertson's, Wal-Mart, and Costco nearby, also gas and coffee shops and other smaller stores. We would love to have found a house in this area. Would definitely recommend this place for short- or long-term stays.

As I rode past the K&M office, I encountered Bruce Atiken, the husband of the park manager, Nancy Aitken. Mr.Aitkens yelled, "Slow down, slow down," and stopped me near the office, Aitken then proceeded at aggressively and got in my face, he then started yelling again, that I was exceeding the speed limit while operating my electric scooter. During the encounter, Bruce Aitken and Nancy Aitken raised their voices and continued yelling at me. I asked both individuals to de-escalate the situation and remain professional; however, they continued yelling. I then asked if they could articulate or provide an estimate of how fast they believed I was traveling on my electricscooter that goes nor more then mabey 13 miles per hr and im 250 pound man. They did not answer my question and continued telling me to "slow down." At that point, I chose to end the interaction by riding away from the area to avoid any further escalation. No further contact or issues occurred following the incident.
