The park has many permanent residents, spots for long-term stays like ours, and several pull-thrus for overnighters. Not easy to get a reservation but well worth it if you can. Price is very reasonable. The park is kept very clean, laundry facilities are wonderful and not too expensive ($1.25 per load washer and dryer), and there is a sweet little stream running through the park sided by a large grassy area that was wonderful for our dog to run and play. No one objected to him being off leash there, but he comes when he's called, so I'm not sure how people would react to a dog that isn't under control. There were some ducks in the stream and a little bridge that crosses it. We felt very safe here and had quiet neighbors. There was noise from Trosper Road, but not more than the usual two-lane road, and certainly better than freeway noise would be in some of the other parks. Fred Meyer, UPS/fax store, Albertson's, Wal-Mart, and Costco nearby, also gas and coffee shops and other smaller stores. We would love to have found a house in this area. Would definitely recommend this place for short- or long-term stays.

Bring you Starlink there is a good view of the the northern horizon. It is a quiet and clean basic park. Definitely should not be called a Resort. WiFi requires no password. Most attempts to connect to the WiFi fail. You will have to use your phone to create a Personal Hot Spot. If you do connect to the WiFi the Internet connection is slow and erratic. Most web sites timeout before you get a connection. This is ancient gear. An inexpensive mesh network with outdoor antennas would solve the problem. The front desk did not know who their internet carrier was. If the carrier is supplying any reasonable speed of 50 to 100 Mbps on a mesh network all would be usable.

Now they do have a fairly strict list of rules to follow which was no problem for us but it does make for a clean and quiet park. My main sense about how good an RV park is, is how clean are the restrooms and showers. This park scores a perfect 100 in my book for restrooms and showers. They even have a sign which says something to the effect of, first showers in the morning, it'll take a bit for the hot water to get there. Turn on the sinks and let them run until you get hot water. Perfect! At six in the morning I probably would have been a bit upset had I not known about the time it takes to get hot water. The entire park was laid out well so it felt relaxing. So whenever I plan a fishing trip out of Westport, those plans will include American Sunset RV.

Also I didnt lose any of the campground experience lol it was still surrounded by people and kids on bikes and people coming to and fro as bathrooms were on the otherside of the cabins. I limited the stars because of how close bathrooms were and because it was in the center of the park, so zero privacy. At this price point, I would prefer a outlying location on the edge or outskirts of the park to have some what of a quieter environment. Though, I still enjoyed my time and the ease of bathroom runs at night was great. So it wasn't a negative, just not a 5 star experience. Based on the healing/relaxation vacation I was attending with a group to have selfcare in nature and access to campgrounds. Mostly, it was bad planning on behalf of the "retreat" to no verify peaceful location. The experience was wonderful had I not come expectant for quiet private camping. Lol Okay, let me be clear, this stay was so much fun. The yurts were beautiful and themes were well executed. They have every amenity i could have asked for. Full cooking supplies with washing supplies too. A fridge, a tv, and a comfy QUEEN BED. They had a private firepit out front with a table and chairs. I was so spoiled. Definitely glamping. Super clean and very well set up. The cleaning crew/ prep team were also very sweet and they enjoyed setting up the experience. I made a full breakfast for the group I came with they were all close enough we could walk back and forth to hang out for s'mores and fire chats. I got up and went for a run, paddleboarded, and took a long grounds walk. I thoroughly needed and enjoyed this trip and stay. I also went to the wolf sanctuary nearby. LIFE CHANGING. I did goat yoga at a local farm. In ending, I HIGHLY suggest this to anyone with the note that families are everywhere and kids are riding bikes ALL day and night. If you are planning a peaceful retreat from a chaotic life like I was, this isnt the spot. But if you want campground experience in a private and cozy shelter inside of a full park with hiking, trails, lake, paddleboarding, snack bar, playground, campfire and community this is the best spot i have ever been too.

But when I arrived, they gave me spot number seventy six, which was absolutely terrible. It was way too small, and the distance between the hookup post and the site next to it was not even enough for me to open my awning. I was practically sandwiched in with no room to enjoy the space. Definitely not what I paid for. To make matters worse, the staff in the office were rude and completely unhelpful. When I asked why I did not get the site I reserved, they told me I needed to pay an additional fee if I actually wanted to keep it, even though I had already prepaid at the time of reservation. Instead, they downgraded me to a tiny, cramped spot and acted like it was no big deal. The spot I originally reserved was the good, spacious one I selected when I booked. What I was moved to was one of the worst sites in the entire place. It is unbelievable that they think this is acceptable customer service. I will not be returning, and I would not recommend this campground to anyone.

A busy train track sits right behind this RV park. Truck traffic is horrendous. Logging trucks are loud POS's and go by continuously between the hours of 5am and 5pm Monday through Friday. Sometimes they start before 5am. The drivers use their jake brake which adds to the noise. The trains are frequent and blast their horn with no regard to time of day or night. The guys in this town all think they have hot rods and think that Harrison Ave. is their own personal speedway. With all of the traffic noise it sounds like you are sitting right next to the interstate. I never slept through the night due to all of the noise. Almost everyone there are long-timers and many of of the RVs are old, dirty, and trashy. The park has no amenities. There is a laundry room but good luck finding either of the two washers and dryers to be working. They charge $75 if you want access to the bathroom and shower. Oh and if you have a dog, they charge an extra $20 per dog. And don't try walking your dog around the park. People there let their dogs off leash (even though it is against the rules) and the management picks and chooses who they enforce it with. I have had unleashed dogs come at me and my dog too many times to count. And there are many loose cats running around. One day I counted 5 different ones. If you are there for an overnight stay you will be fine although the rate is $50 per day. If you want to stay long-term, be prepared to pay $750 per month for a concrete pad to rest your RV on. Electricity is metered and costs extra. There aren't any picnic tables in any of the spaces either.
