This has been my nail salon for almost 3 years straight, where I constantly visit Jen to get a dip manicure with fun designs! There have to be at least 100+ dip colors, the most out of any salon in the area. The staff is always kind, however they occasionally run late (but most salons do). Plenty of chairs and always able to take quick appointments. I absolutely hate to rate this place anything less than 5 stars, as a 4.5 would be perfect for me. However, they are definitely not the cleanest salon in the area. I've luckily never had any issues, but you can tell the tools aren't cleaned in between sessions and a lot of tools are very old looking. Overall, it's not enough to deter me from these stellar designs! read more

I've been holding off on writing a review for Queen Bee for a while, solely because I've had such mixed experiences. There have been several times where I have an AMAZING manicure/pedicure. Limited wait, talented technician, and lasting results. However, I've also had some pretty unpleasant experiences. Even when I've reserved a time slot on their website, I've found myself waiting 20+ minutes for my appointment to begin. There also has been some long wait time in between my manicure and pedicure in the past. Additionally, I've been mildly injured now twice by technicians with nicking and overcutting that both resulted in bleeding. In both instances, I wasn't offered any sort of financial compensation (which I have in the past at other salons). One of my nails was seriously in lots of pain for 2 weeks following it! Overall, I'd suggest coming here for a good pedicure and if only if you make an appointment (and have some wiggle room around that slot). Otherwise, hope for a great technician (like Tony). I showed a picture of the trendy glazed donut nails (light pink with white chrome) and Tina helped find what was needed to match that. I came in with gel x/builder nails and wanted to do a nail change/refill. While shaving my nails, my pointer finger skin did get nicked, so it hurt a bit and started to bleed. At the end, in some lighting, the nails look amazing. However in other lighting, I was a little sad that you can still see the old gel x underneath -- you can kinda see where the old gel was growing out underneath the new gel color and chrome (the dark curved lines on my pointer and middle nails are more obvious in person than in the photos -- both are the same nails in different lighting). Tina thought it still looked nice and isn't obvious, so I accepted it. I think overall, the staff is very nice and friendly. Tina was kind and made small talk. I don't think I would do a gel change/refill again, but would come back with bare nails for a fresh new set, and I find the prices to be generally reasonable! read more

I made a pedicure appointment for first thing in the morning because I needed to get on the road that same day. I arrived early for my appointment. There were 2 techs with 2 clients. They told me to wait they would be with me shortly. Basically they wanted me to wait til the next techs arrived for work. I waited nearly 1/2 hour because they chose to overbook or take a walk in over my appointment. My tech, Julia, was friendly and apologetic. She did a good job. I'm not sure why this place is so highly rated.. The place looks tired. The chairs are so close together there was no place for me to put my sandals next to me because my neighbor already had her shoes between us so I had to put them in the front of the basin. Julia needed to move my shoes out in the path of walking traffic. The floors appeared still dirty from the night before. Another employee was sweeping the floors and literally swept dirt on my sandals. I'd recommend Julia but I would not recommend Queen Bee. There are other Brighton salons to try. read more

Tina did such a good job! So these are my natural nails I grew out for a bit plus two tips she glued on since a couple of them broke. They look just like my inspiration picture! I didn't want too white or too pink, I did dip, it was called gel beauty DD11 if you want as inspo. And then I asked for chrome on top which was this beautiful pearl dust they did at the end. I asked for almost shape. I love them! And then I did my toes just regular white gel. So a full gel pedicure (hot stones, scrub) and then a dip manicure with two tips and the nice chrome detailing all for only $115! Can't be beat! Tina is amazing and really nice. I recommend going earlier in the day or calling ahead! :) read more

I've been getting my nails and toes done here since 2016 going on 9 years almost every two weeks. Aly for pedicures and Jen for dip powder nails. Both ladies do an amazinggg clean job (this is coming from a very picky person haha). This nail salon most importantly is very sanitary too. Everyone here is very friendly, owners Ann and her husband are always keeping the shop up to date with new decor and esthetics, appreciate this. Definitely recommend to all! read more

Tools are very obviously dirty and not cleaned. Even with an appointment I would usually wait at least 30-45 minutes. Although my nails would turn out pretty good, I went here a good amount of times before getting fed up and going somewhere else. read more

Jen is my favorite nail tech to go to for my nails. She always pays such great care & attention to the details of the design. She makes sure they're executed perfectly. There hasn't been a design to date that she couldn't do! If you book with a specific person, they do not honor that and instead seat you with whoever is available. This resulted in my nails being overfiled to the point of pain and a sloppy manicure. Really unfortunate because I used to recommend this place to people but I can no longer do that or go myself in good conscience. It's really frustrating to pay 75 dollars just to have to get your nails done again a week later because they look so messy. On top of that, I requested a slightly different color for the base of my French manicure (tan vs pink) and the nail tech rolled her eyes at me. Getting my nails done is supposed to be a relaxing experience I can look forward to and you will not find that here. read more

Ive gotten a gel manicure here about 3 times and every single time they peel after about a week! Everyone there is so nice but my manicures just don't last which is disappointing. It's a nice place to get a pedicure though. read more

After a long of day of working from home all I wanted was a mani and pedi! I decided to try a place outside of my neighborhood were I could actually find parking so I found this place in Brighton. I called in and was able to get an appointment for right away and asked if there was free street parking (which there is). Service was fast. One nail tech worked on my pedi followed by a different tech for a dip manicure. I was impressed by that technique of Denny on the dip. He was quite strategic about his filling and made sure to turn my hand in different directions so that the nail could be properly filed. I am a fan of how effective and efficient he is! Would definitely come back and do dip with him. I rate this establishment with four stars because when I asked for the matching dip color for the manicure the pedi tech brought me a box full of different colors (at least 300 nail color samples) and asked me to find it myself. I was shocked by this response, usually they are the ones that match it for you. read more

I've been going to get my nails done by Jen for about 4 years now. I love getting some kind of cute and fancy design, and Jen perfects it every time. I live very close to Queen Bee but found Jen through all of the reviews here. I brought her a picture from someone else's review that credited her as the technician and she recreated it beautifully for me for a special event. I got tips, dip, gel polish, and nail art on accent nails, all for $67 which was incredibly reasonable. I was also in and out quickly for a busy Saturday afternoon. They've been a huge hit with all of my friends and people at the event! It's been almost two weeks and my nails and art have completely held up (they just grow super fast which is my fault? I honestly gave this place so much love and patience. Please read if you are considering going. This is something that happens more often than it should. This isn't the first time they've been rough with my nails, as I have bled before. I understand it's hard to work with nails and I was willing to shrug it off. I had gotten my nails done a few days prior and needed my polish removed. They were absolutely so rough with the removal. Though this is typical, they were rushed during my removal and lifted a layer of my nail off, as well as rip off half of another toenail. It is so painful... They waved aside my concerns and didn't even say goodbye to me as I left - all in all ignoring me. They charged me 12$ for gel nails removal. I tipped 10$ as a goodbye gift as I will not be coming here again. It was Jen who removed my toenails and fingernails. I've had some negative experiences with Nancy in the past, too. Please do not go here as they are so rough with your nails. I will be looking for somewhere else. They also didn't completely remove the red nail polish as there are specks on my toenails. read more

Beyond upset and disgusted I wish I could give a 0. Went in for pedicure and acrylic set. It's dirty in there, I sat down and when the brought a towel for the table ,it covered me in nail dust. I asked for French tips and none of my nails are even, or symmetrical from hand to hand I added pics for reference so you can see how thick and clumsy they look. I asked to fix it numerous times and they never got better. My cuticles look terrible and I got cut two times. The water for the pedicure was cold even after asking for it to be hotter, and they spent no time scrubbing. My feet aren't soft and they still have dry skin on them I could have just painted my nails myself tbh. To add insult to injury I spent sooo long in there and was charged over 100 dollars before tip. read more

I found this salon on Yelp when my old salon didn't return my messages. I'm always super nervous trying new places because of some bad experiences in the past. I was helped right away. They have a thermometer to take your temperature on the wall at the entrance and you wash your hands before anything else. Each station is surrounded by plexiglass on three sides. Tina did my nails. I got dip powder with tips. I asked for an oval shape. They came almost a little more pointy than I thought they would, seemed more like almond but they look amazing! Tina did an amazing job. She was gentle and kept checking in with me. They don't do any cuticle work during the dip I got done. I will 100% come back! They also have more color options for dip than I had ever seen before. It was easy to pay with Venmo and add your tip through there. read more

The woman at the front desk was nice, so I do have one positive memory! It started out on a strange note, the girl who did the waxing just came out of the back waxing area and waved me in; someone else was waiting so I wasn't exactly sure if she meant me at first? One of my BIG pet peeves is someone not introducing themself (and welcoming them to a brand-new location), and that was the case here. Worse than the "just a wave, no introduction" was the actual wax itself: forget about the usual going home and needing to pluck a few hairs (emphasis on FEW); in this case, I went home and looked around to find someone who did "patch areas" AND could get me in quickly because there was an entire section that had not been waxed!!! It didn't occur to me to LOOK before I got dressed, but now I know I should check out the handiwork before leaving. That was another $20 added on (as well as the time of finding someone and going to the appointment), so it definitely wasn't a great experience!

I've been getting waxes for 3 years now and 2 with this company. I've never had to tell a waxer to stop what they are doing mid wax because the pain is that unbearable. Literally to the point of me crying my eyes out. What pissed me off is the girl that waxed me told me my pain is coming from my hairs being too long. I instantly knew that was BS because I've gotten waxes looking like a bear on the wax table multiple times and NEVER HAS IT BEEN THIS UNBEARABLY PAINFUL. I could also tell she either wasn't trained well or didn't have any experience because she focused on one area of my body vs bouncing off body parts like a waxer would normally do. She focused on my Brazilian area for about 30 mins continuously applying wax over and over again. I asked her if my skin was red or bleeding and she told me no, but the moment i sat up to look my whole Brazilian area was very red and bumpy from the pain and amount of time she went over it. Normally when someone is doing a Brazilian on me, it takes about 5-7 mins if that. I've never experienced a wax session this bad. And on top of all that, she couldn't finish because she felt uncomfortable to do so with is understandable, but the fact that i am literally getting on a plane to Mexico tomorrow is a HUGE inconvenience to me! Now im forced to shave the body parts she didn't get to. I haven't shaved in 3 years because I am a consistent waxer. The fact i have to shave the rest is utterly disappointing and frustrating. I am beyond upset and lost for words at my experience today.

Instead of using a single swift pull, this technician (Sheila) used a series of small pulls, which I believe led to the sores. But I'm not sure about that. What I can say is that I'm in my mid-50s, have been waxing for decades, and have never been left with sores/scabs. So this issue is distinct to this visit to EWC in Brookline, MA (and I've been to several others in the area). Additionally troubling is that I wrote a note to EWC stating the above to no avail, even offering to send them photos that I'd taken. Not only did no one contact me, I know they received my complaint because I got a follow-up survey inquiring as to my satisfaction regarding the efficacy of their follow-up. Incredible! You can't make this stuff up. I've even checked Junk, thinking "surely not, surely *someone* would have written back; maybe it went into the Spam folder." Nope. Non. Nada. Anyway, the woman at the front desk was lovely, friendly, chatty, and very welcoming. Despite that, unless I want more scabs, returning to this EWC seems unwise and so I won't.

It is followed up with a hot stone massage and hand massage which is way more than 30 secs. Ana is so good at it, I wanted to sleep. So I made a mistake and guess didn't tell her I needed my toes even so I was apologizing. This woman came from a far with attitude, I said no need I didn't tell her I'm apologizing. Then she gave me this you better be look. That was wild, it was not Ana. She was a peach the whole time. My pedicure is beautiful, I like it here.
