I've been to several places around greater Boston and even in other states for gel manicures and could never get a manicure to last more than a few days without chipping or peeling. This is the first place I've ever had gel last the recommended 2 weeks! The technician was highly meticulous, my cuticles were in terrible shape and she took the extra time to fix them and make my hands look nice again. And the prices are very fair for the area.

Very nice women but the service was not up to my usual standards. I don't feel like my cuticles were given enough care and my feet were poorly done. Some of nails are bumpy and the skin was not clipped around my nails for a nice clean look. And the seats didn't appear to be cleaned in between each client even though we are still in covid which is why I just went from a 3 to. 2. I wanted to like this place but will not be going back. Also, ten minutes after leaving...I am realizing that my feet are dry as all hell. This just emphasizes the fact that there wasn't much care given. She was very gentle, too gentle and this is the result. I'm actually pissed the more I'm realizing how terrible this is. I wish I could give zero just based on the outcome and my birthday is tomorrow so this is just great.

Found this nice nail spot on yelp. It was quite a bit of a drive from where I live but it was definitely worth it. I really liked that the person who I saw did everything I needed unlike other nail places that have one person do nails or pedi and also may have another do waxing. So that was a huge plus for me. I got my face waxed and my brows were very nice. I got the classic silk lashes and i literally fell asleep lol...It was very relaxing. I Love my lashes. I also got a mani and the hand massage that I receive was . My friend got her gel nails removed and a full set which she loved (I forgot to take a pic). I will definitely be going back

Got a Groupon and decided to try this place out. Pros: * my nails turned out great, especially the gel manicure * really reasonable price with the Groupon (including student discount on Groupon a sale on Groupon it was around 31 for a pedicure and gel manicure). Add 10 for tip but still very reasonable for the area Cons: * the woman doing my nails was a bit aggressive with the cuticle pushing - maybe the edges of my nails are more sensitive than most people's but I would recommend asking them to be gentle * The phone! The phone! The phone! Every few minutes the salon's phone would ring and it was hooked up to the surround speaker system so the entire store would basically have this alarm sound every few minutes. They also could really benefit from another employee because each time the phone rang someone's pedicure was interrupted by the owner needing to get up and answer it Will be back. Really good deal and quality manicure/pedicure. They just need to make a few small fixes -- be gentler and figure out a less disruptive phone system. read more

FANCY NAILS IS MY FAVORITE PLACE. I came here right when I started grad school and they have been my go to ever since. Their lash service is EXTREMELY high quality and quick. The ladies who work there are super super nice, I even brought them back chocolates on my last visit before I moved. They have a stamp card! And discount if you pay in cash. (ATM conveniently located next door). Don't think about it, just go! read more

This was the longest lasting gel manicure I have ever gotten! This was my first time here and I had effects added and it not only looked great but lasted without a single chip for 16 days! I admittedly do not maintain gel manicures well and am usually happy if I get them to last 10 days without a chip. I got it to last long without even trying. Scheduling was easy with a phone call, and no other customers were there so it was COVID safe. Highly recommend! read more

Drove 14 miles because I wanted to. The place, owners and staff were super sweet and attentive. Professional but personable. The place was clean and prissy. What impressed me was that they didn't have a color that I really wanted and one of the employees sat down and tried her hardest to mix colors to give me what I wanted. Very nice people but service definitely not up to standards. I told my nail tech that I was going to a wedding and there was still very little attention to detail with my gel manicure/pedicure. I don't usually leave reviews but not too happy. I made an appointment and did not just walk in so I think they could have done better since they weren't rushed. read more

I was waiting for my mom to get a service done at another location when I decided I would get a mani/pedi. As I was not familiar with the area decided to walk around for a bit. Which I'm glad I did because I would have never came across Fancy Nails. It was clean and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. Also they are reasonably priced, a mani/pedi is $40. I'm not sure of my technician name but she did a wonder job, it her a little longer than I expected. But I rather someone take their time instead of a rushed job. They also have coffee and candy which is a nice little treat. I think I might try the gel next time if my budget allows it! Here are some pics of my toes and nails. read more

What a nightmare experience. It was my first visit and only because I bought a Groupon for eyelash extensions. Everything about my experience was terrible. I was rushed into a very small room where the woman, Leila, put paper over the table and just told me to lay down. She began putting something on my face and eyes which felt like scott tape and she was rough on my face pulling my skin. She began to do the job and put something on my eyes that made them burn. The phone kept ringing and she was actually talking on the phone and booking appointments while working on my eyes. Long story short, I was laying there freezing because she was blasting the AC on a winter day, and I could hear her cutting with scissors something above my face as my eyes were closed. It was terrifying. I couldn't wait to leave. I explained the length and she seem like she had an attitude because I had a Groupon. When she was done, she tried to rush me off. I said can I see in the mirror. She handed me the mirror and I was horrified. I am use to beautiful, soft, glamourous eyelashes. What I saw in the mirror was extra long, thin plastic looking hard lashes looking like spider legs. I couldn't believe it!!!! read more

Very bad place! Brushed the top of my foot so hard that it became all red and the skin started peeling and burning. Would stay away! No apologies what so ever. Also they don't scrub or exfoliate in the basic pedicure. read more

Victotia is wonderful. She does an amazing job on Gels, fills etc all services she provides are very reasonably priced, the salon is easy to get too. Plenty of parking. The cons: $15 for a toenail polish change, which is more than other places nearby, and the service that is included was the bare minimum. And the polish looked like it was only 1 coat when she was done- kind of see through. So I told her, but she didn't improve it much at all. The pros: I actually found 2 polish colors that I like (1 dark shiny pink and 1 light shiny pink) This seems like a difficult task even though the colors I like are pretty standard! read more

This place could easily be a 5 star joint if they would just hire one more person to do manicures/pedicures. In a busy little area on Watertown St., this salon is one of several nail salons on the block. However, what sets Fancy Nails apart is the quality of work and the friendly staff. My manicure has lasted for 3 weeks so far. Yes, I said THREE weeks. Unheard of! My pedicure is still kicking after a few weeks too. Pick up a frequent visitor card and then hop over to their other shop on the same block, Bobalicious, for a bubble tea. Sigh...its the perfect combo! read more

Today was my 1st visit to fancy nails and I must say based on the other reviews I was a little skeptical. Now I am glad I went with my gut. THIS PLACE IS FABULOUS! Quinn and Lisa were so great with my daughter and I. This being our 1st pedi of the season our toes were looking rough! Quinn and Lisa turned our frowns upside down. Now we can finally wear opened toe'd shoes with confidence. As far as the cleanliness this place gets 5 STARS. I was expecting a dump. But this has to be one of the cleanest salons I've been in, and I've seen my share. So I would ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND THEM! I have other postings regarding other establishments so this post is no fake. Terrible they scam you and make you pay out if pocket after you purchase a groupon and they do not tell you in the begging knowing what they are going to do. Also didn't do my nails how I asked for them and cut my cuticles till I bleed. read more

Victoria has taken over Fancy Nails and overall the place is better run. She has more technicians working at any given time and you can call ahead for an appointment. You may still have a little wait when you come in but generally it's not bad. The prices are reasonable and the technicians are efficient and thorough. I prefer this place to Lony nails down the street. It never smells of acetone or chemicals in the salon and it's clean inside. read more

I've been getting waxes for 3 years now and 2 with this company. I've never had to tell a waxer to stop what they are doing mid wax because the pain is that unbearable. Literally to the point of me crying my eyes out. What pissed me off is the girl that waxed me told me my pain is coming from my hairs being too long. I instantly knew that was BS because I've gotten waxes looking like a bear on the wax table multiple times and NEVER HAS IT BEEN THIS UNBEARABLY PAINFUL. I could also tell she either wasn't trained well or didn't have any experience because she focused on one area of my body vs bouncing off body parts like a waxer would normally do. She focused on my Brazilian area for about 30 mins continuously applying wax over and over again. I asked her if my skin was red or bleeding and she told me no, but the moment i sat up to look my whole Brazilian area was very red and bumpy from the pain and amount of time she went over it. Normally when someone is doing a Brazilian on me, it takes about 5-7 mins if that. I've never experienced a wax session this bad. And on top of all that, she couldn't finish because she felt uncomfortable to do so with is understandable, but the fact that i am literally getting on a plane to Mexico tomorrow is a HUGE inconvenience to me! Now im forced to shave the body parts she didn't get to. I haven't shaved in 3 years because I am a consistent waxer. The fact i have to shave the rest is utterly disappointing and frustrating. I am beyond upset and lost for words at my experience today.

As I as working to identify possible salons to call, I remembered Dellaria. I had several facials there in the past. I called (great hours- open 7am daily, a little later Sun, and closed Mon). They made me an afternoon appt. with Yelena-her only open slot. I arrived armed with photos and some specifics from my stylist. I hadn't had anyone else touch my hair in 10+ years. I just hoped for some decent highlights and cut- didn't need to be exactly like my previous cut/highlights for me to be happy. Yelena did a fabulous job- she listened, asked questions, and looked at my photos. Very happy with my highlights and cut-great experience. Busy salon- many stylists and stations. I highly recommend.

The manicure claimed you would get a special treatment, that was gloves of the sort you can buy better at Marshalls, except these kept breaking and I felt no improvement to my hands. The tips tear off so the tips of your fingers get no benefit. The manicure too was slapdash. I came home and looked at my nails and the awful painting and took it all off and redid them myself. Only advantage is that I am a better manicurist than someone I paid $100 too. Avoid, avoid, avoid. There are so many good nail salons at half the price or less.

I have now been to Fancy Nails in Newton a handful of times and I can confidently say I will never go anywhere else. I never used to get my nails done regularly, but I just keep going back because my nails always look AMAZING when I leave and they last FOREVER (my last dip manicure with tips lasted almost 6 weeks before my nails had just grown out too much to wait any longer... the nails still looked impeccable even after 6 weeks). The salon has a friendly, bright and clean atmosphere. The technicians take the time to figure out exactly what you are looking for and they know what looks good (if you're like me and can never make up your mind). I have had both Victoria and Vivian do my nails and both have been so kind, helpful, talented, and meticulous. I have had dip manicures done at other places and my nails have come out bumpy/misshapen and only lasted about 3 weeks before chipping and breaking. Victoria has even helped me grow out my nails long enough that I don't need tips anymore and my natural nails are still healthy and strong! I usually get acrylic nails when going to nail salons, but have never found the right place that does natural-looking, thin nails, but I have definitely found my go-to nail place! Price is very manageable for a full set ($45) and for good-quality nails this place is definitely fairly priced. I used a Groupon for a gel manicure & regular pedicure. The salon was very clean & the young lady was extremely patient, since it had been a while due to the pandemic since my last mini pedi. She did an amazing job. Love the color she chose for my nails since I couldn't makeup my mind as to what would be best. I will definitely return to this salon.
