Got a Groupon and decided to try this place out. Pros: * my nails turned out great, especially the gel manicure * really reasonable price with the Groupon (including student discount on Groupon a sale on Groupon it was around 31 for a pedicure and gel manicure). Add 10 for tip but still very reasonable for the area Cons: * the woman doing my nails was a bit aggressive with the cuticle pushing - maybe the edges of my nails are more sensitive than most people's but I would recommend asking them to be gentle * The phone! The phone! The phone! Every few minutes the salon's phone would ring and it was hooked up to the surround speaker system so the entire store would basically have this alarm sound every few minutes. They also could really benefit from another employee because each time the phone rang someone's pedicure was interrupted by the owner needing to get up and answer it Will be back. Really good deal and quality manicure/pedicure. They just need to make a few small fixes -- be gentler and figure out a less disruptive phone system. read more

I've been to several places around greater Boston and even in other states for gel manicures and could never get a manicure to last more than a few days without chipping or peeling. This is the first place I've ever had gel last the recommended 2 weeks! The technician was highly meticulous, my cuticles were in terrible shape and she took the extra time to fix them and make my hands look nice again. This was the longest lasting gel manicure I have ever gotten! This was my first time here and I had effects added and it not only looked great but lasted without a single chip for 16 days! I admittedly do not maintain gel manicures well and am usually happy if I get them to last 10 days without a chip. I got it to last long without even trying. Very nice women but the service was not up to my usual standards. I don't feel like my cuticles were given enough care and my feet were poorly done. Some of nails are bumpy and the skin was not clipped around my nails for a nice clean look. And the seats didn't appear to be cleaned in between each client even though we are still in covid which is why I just went from a 3 to. 2. I wanted to like this place but will not be going back. Also, ten minutes after leaving...I am realizing that my feet are dry as all hell. This just emphasizes the fact that there wasn't much care given. She was very gentle, too gentle and this is the result. I'm actually pissed the more I'm realizing how terrible this is. I wish I could give zero just based on the outcome and my birthday is tomorrow so this is just great. read more

Found this nice nail spot on yelp. It was quite a bit of a drive from where I live but it was definitely worth it. I really liked that the person who I saw did everything I needed unlike other nail places that have one person do nails or pedi and also may have another do waxing. So that was a huge plus for me. I got my face waxed and my brows were very nice. I got the classic silk lashes and i literally fell asleep lol...It was very relaxing. I Love my lashes. I also got a mani and the hand massage that I receive was . My friend got her gel nails removed and a full set which she loved (I forgot to take a pic). I will definitely be going back read more

Drove 14 miles because I wanted to. The place, owners and staff were super sweet and attentive. Professional but personable. The place was clean and prissy. What impressed me was that they didn't have a color that I really wanted and one of the employees sat down and tried her hardest to mix colors to give me what I wanted. I was waiting for my mom to get a service done at another location when I decided I would get a mani/pedi. As I was not familiar with the area decided to walk around for a bit. Which I'm glad I did because I would have never came across Fancy Nails. It was clean and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. Also they are reasonably priced, a mani/pedi is $40. I'm not sure of my technician name but she did a wonder job, it her a little longer than I expected. But I rather someone take their time instead of a rushed job. What a nightmare experience. It was my first visit and only because I bought a Groupon for eyelash extensions. Everything about my experience was terrible. I was rushed into a very small room where the woman, Leila, put paper over the table and just told me to lay down. She began putting something on my face and eyes which felt like scott tape and she was rough on my face pulling my skin. She began to do the job and put something on my eyes that made them burn. The phone kept ringing and she was actually talking on the phone and booking appointments while working on my eyes. Long story short, I was laying there freezing because she was blasting the AC on a winter day, and I could hear her cutting with scissors something above my face as my eyes were closed. It was terrifying. I couldn't wait to leave. I explained the length and she seem like she had an attitude because I had a Groupon. When she was done, she tried to rush me off. I said can I see in the mirror. She handed me the mirror and I was horrified. I am use to beautiful, soft, glamourous eyelashes. What I saw in the mirror was extra long, thin plastic looking hard lashes looking like spider legs. I couldn't believe it!!!! read more

And the polish looked like it was only 1 coat when she was done- kind of see through. So I told her, but she didn't improve it much at all. This place could easily be a 5 star joint if they would just hire one more person to do manicures/pedicures. In a busy little area on Watertown St., this salon is one of several nail salons on the block. However, what sets Fancy Nails apart is the quality of work and the friendly staff. My manicure has lasted for 3 weeks so far. Yes, I said THREE weeks. Unheard of! My pedicure is still kicking after a few weeks too. Pick up a frequent visitor card and then hop over to their other shop on the same block, Bobalicious, for a bubble tea. Sigh...its the perfect combo! read more

Today was my 1st visit to fancy nails and I must say based on the other reviews I was a little skeptical. Now I am glad I went with my gut. THIS PLACE IS FABULOUS! Quinn and Lisa were so great with my daughter and I. This being our 1st pedi of the season our toes were looking rough! Quinn and Lisa turned our frowns upside down. Now we can finally wear opened toe'd shoes with confidence. As far as the cleanliness this place gets 5 STARS. I was expecting a dump. Victoria has taken over Fancy Nails and overall the place is better run. She has more technicians working at any given time and you can call ahead for an appointment. You may still have a little wait when you come in but generally it's not bad. The prices are reasonable and the technicians are efficient and thorough. I prefer this place to Lony nails down the street. It never smells of acetone or chemicals in the salon and it's clean inside. read more
