She said herself will send $250 of $500 back

DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE. Absolute NIGHTMARE business owner.. her and all her little team of drunks... Where do i even start... Had an event back in may of 2026 that the owner Alma Felan has NOT paid me my bar cut. (Not first time shes dont this to patrons who rent her bar, even door... thats why WE handled door cus ive heard stories about her) Apart from that theres more money she owes me and is refusing to pay. Matter of fact said her precious time is worth $300 an hour because I wanted to ask for my money she herself said shed pay back?? Then she called me 3+ times talking about rebooking the date (incliding a week before the event) to someone else after i already had paid my $2000 deposit in full... Nightmare lady to work with... Shes been doing this for over a decade at least now and has been scamming the community for far too long. Look at old reviews. She steals from her business partners, the people she rents her building out to and then cries wolf. Shady/TERRIBLE business practices. Someone just went on ig and ratter her out. BARELY scratches the surface. Do NOT do business here, u will regret the headache Silly a$$ business owner. Only a matter of time Karma finnuh get you alma. I'm not the only story. I have the courage to speak out against manipulators and liars like yourself. May you get what you deserve Heres the link: https://www.instagram.com/p/DdFQnP4nOSu/?stkn=MWtmNW9lcmFtbW9ieA==

Sunday salsa night was so disappointing. No DJ, poor playlist, and $15 cover. For what? Boo. What happened to the quality?

    What an awesome Jazz Jam!

I was stood up by the owner/manager not once but twice. First time 30 minutes late I had to hear from a 3rd party they she (Alma) was in a Drs appointment that ran longer then she expected. Ok no worries. Second time she made a promise that it wouldn't happen again and low and behold she stood me up a second time and didn't even bother with a follow up call or anything. So called business people like this don't deserve our patronage. Icing on the cake I was trying to spend money with her!!! Don't do it! This owner/manager (Alma) is inconsistent, inconsiderate and unprofessional.

If you enjoy walking around, taking in beautiful scenery, and getting some great photos along the way, this place is absolutely worth visiting. The garden is very walkable, and there are gorgeous views around seemingly every corner. As someone who loves photography, I had my camera working overtime. Between the landscaping, bridges, waterfalls, plants, and all of the little details throughout the garden, there are so many great opportunities for photos. The koi pond was probably my favorite part. The koi were BEAUTIFUL, and I could have stood there watching them swim around forever. It was easily one of the most relaxing parts of my visit. A fun fact I learned is that the garden opened in 1991 and was created as an expression of friendship between San Diego and its sister city, Yokohama, Japan. The garden continued to expand over the years, including the addition of a grove with around 200 cherry trees in 2015. So there is actually quite a bit of history and meaning behind all of the beauty. Definitely a 5 star experience for me. Peaceful, gorgeous, easy to explore, and an absolute dream if you enjoy photography. I would gladly come back, especially during cherry blossom season!

Located inside Balboa Park, you can tour the museums in the area, but don't forget to stop and take a moment to smell the flowers at the Japanese Friendship Garden... There were so many beautiful birds, butterflies, koi, and plants I've never seen before. The grounds were very clean and well manicured. Pricing to get in was about $60 for a family of 4 (including student pricing for our children) which may be a bit steep if you have young children with thin patience.. however, if you are able to come in and find your Zen for a couple hours, this is the spot to do so. They offer free crafts for visitors- when we were there they were doing an origami workshop, which seemed very fun. However, our kids weren't up For it- so we did not participate. Would definitely visit again in the future!

I love that my brain still thinks I can whip out fouettes, when in reality, I'm far from even 50% as flexible as I once was. But finding the right studio is about getting to have fun and dance. I attended a Jazz Funk class at Play Studio and it was so fun! I appreciated that the class was a challenge. This studio is suited for people with dance experience. While there are likely people here training to dance professionally, there are also people who are just here for fun. But, I like that the classes are at a level that create a challenge and keep your brain moving as you move through the choreo. I hate a boring class and this wasn't the least bit boring at all. The class moved quickly! The vibe was good and it feels like there's a nice community here. I love the variety of options they have and I'm excited to try a pom class next. The studio is located on the second floor of the building. Parking in the area is tough. Although the studio has a parking lot, there are very few spots. If you are lucky, you may find free parking in the surrounding areas, but honestly, parking can be difficult, especially on busy days. What I like most about Balboa Park is that you don't need to visit all the museums to enjoy this place. You can simply walk around, enjoy the gardens, take pictures, and relax. One thing to keep in mind is that the park is very large. If you don't plan ahead, you may end up walking more than expected.
