No local beer, no restaurant gift card, no branded bourbon glasses, and the "other surprises" consisted of a single $1 coupon off a brand of bacon I have never heard of. What a shame for a place I used to love.

During this trip, I found some pickled okra that is from Texas. Of course, it is commonplace throughout the Southern United States, but it is often difficult to find north of Kentucky. They offered plenty of foreign sodas and other food items. I found some favorites from the Philippines, Colombia, and other countries. Also, I noticed that they had a vast selection of seafood, wine, beer, and even cigars. Every aisle is listed and kept clean, and if you're looking for something particular, ask a staff member for assistance. They're friendly and willing to assist customers. If you're in the area and have never even stopped by to look, it is worth your time.

I love that they give you a list at the beginning so you know the wines that you are tasting and where they come from. I love the fact that they have a lot of different wines for you to choose from and that they vary in pricing. I also like that you can get small bottles of some of the wines if you are not sure if you'd like it and can mix and match 6 for $19.99. The staff is always friendly and helpful if you are unsure of anything.

Every time I've been there I have been treated well by staff, until today…read more I was on the middle of a transaction, or so I thought when the person waiting on me left to take care of others without a word. Apparently she thought I was done with my order. If she said something, it was under her breath and I didn't hear it. I had other items to purchase. I wait until everyone else is taken care of, about 10 to 15 minutes. Then asked if I can be helped by the same person that waited on me the first time. I told her that she was working in my order and then was told she was finished. Unfortunately I said a curse word when I said it would have been nice to have been told that. A Karen came over and without trying to see what the issue was immediately told me that if I'm going to curse, "you can get out of my store and we won't sell you anything else". Paid for my other order and was given attitude the entire time. She had this smart ass attitude and grin. I then told her I wouldn't be back and she said "good I have plenty of other customers". I was offered no help with my over $300 order to get it in my car, as has always been the case at this location. So I graded my items one at a time and left with a purposeful curse this time. "Adios MFers" ...followed by Karen again telling me to never shop there again, like she did something there. Not to worry. I followed DEP to this location and had been a regular customer for years. Never again. Should I have cursed ? Absolutely not. Should I have been confronted that way without any concern for the underlying issue? Also absolutely not. Karen needs to find a job not in a liquor store, maybe a day care so she does hear any curse words. Go somewhere else, Northern KY is full of great stores.

They had very good selections especially in my choice of Pinot noir's. The Wine Merchant will now be on my radar as a local place to get my favorites. I shared the types of wines I prefer and what I'd be interested in learning more about. I was given a brief tour and recommendations were made. I purchased 5 bottles of wine. Additionally, I asked about a specific wine type my favorite Petit Chablis from France which I've purchased in OH. The person who helped me is checking to see if he can get me six bottles of it.
