I've lived here for 10 years and Queen Donut used to be absolutely stellar. Now it seems like the group that were so in top of everything--delicious food, fast service, beautiful shop--have retired maybe, and boy I miss them! The recipes have changed and the new crew in charge are so slow, maybe because they all have ear buds in constantly and often have full conversations on the phone while you're trying to talk to them. I was in just now, barely a word from the woman at the counter, but she was in full conversation the whole time. And it smelled like cigarette smoke. I've been giving the shop a chance again every few months, but that was pretty appalling. Goodbye, Queen Donut. I'll always miss what you used to be. Had been meaning to try this mom and pop donut shop down the street from us and it didn't disappoint! We got the glazed donut, blueberry cake, apple fritter, chocolate sprinkles-all were fantastic! The donuts all live up to the hype. The apple fritter was the best I've had. We also got the kolaches which were ok to me, but I'd highly recommend the croissants! We got a ham and cheese croissant and a sausage and cheese croissant and both were delish. Will def be getting those again. Employees were super nice. Fluffy donut filled with blue berries and lightly coated with icing. They smell so good! Boudin Kolache: There's not a lot of places that offer this.
