I came in for 2 pedicures and was greeted by a very grumpy man. The young lady did a great job on my friend's pedicure, but she was also a little rough. This man made many micro aggressions and was very rough when scraping nails, knicked my skin several times, and forcibly grabbed my ankle with a tight grip. Went to get my nails done yesterday for $40 for them to look like they need a filling. Not neat at all. There's bubbles the nail polish isn't put on right one of my nails. First time here. I was a little nervous because the guy helping me said he had only been working there 2 months. He was also a little aggressive at times while handling my nails. I told him not to squeeze my hand too hard, he comply. He did a very nice job with my nails. I was definitely happy. I showed him a picture of the nail design i wanted since he didn't speak english much. I added the silver glitter to my blue nails at home after i left because he said he couldn't do it, he was worry he would messed them up. No biggie i did it myself at home. The first and last time I come to this establishment. Their nail tech Cindy was extremely unwelcoming from the minute of service. My nails are all uneven and not shaped the same. I'd make suggestions regarding mistakes and of course it would upset her. I got to the point of asking if I could use her file to try and fix my nails. There was really nothing I could do after the way she had already "shaped" them. She was talking down to me like I was dumb or something. Very condescending. I am not kidding you when I tell you I started feeling so much anxiety. It took everything in me to stay as calm as I did. She didn't paint the edge of my nails so when I asked her too, of course she did a crappy job. See the picture. I just left and this is what my nails look like. Horrible service! I asked for a soak off for my acrylic nails and the nail tech started to rip off my nails with nail clippers! I was in so much pain and I told the nail tech that it was hurting and all he said was "sorry" and kept going. I asked him why is he doing this if I asked for a soak off and he said that it's faster and doesn't harm the nails as much as the acetone. I had enough and got up and left. read more

I have gotten a few pedicures done here in the past and I enjoyed them. Last thursday, I decided to get a full set done by them. The owner was constantly telling me to try their acrylics so I tried it. I got the older guy with a silverish hair. Then all of a sudden he tells me to dry my nails under the light even though there was nothing to dry on my nails. He had only put on the beads which at that point was completely dry already. Next thing I know, he walks out of the salon and disappears for a good 3 minutes. He comes back in with a bag and then starts getting started. He cut me a few times when he was buffing the nails and when I flinched and said ow he didn't even faze or move it so it wouldn't hurt me. He just kept going. I kinda let it go. At that point I was kind of tired of being here so I paid $45 and gave him a $5 tip and left. As I inspected my nails, some of them weren't the same shape. On saturday, I was doing some small house chores and all of a sudden my pinky started lifting. I have gotten acrylics many times from other salons and NEVER have I ever had a nail lift within 2 days of getting them done. I want to go back to get it fixed since I did spend $45 on them, but I don't have time. I shouldn't have to come back within a few days because I get acrylics so they last longer because with my busy schedule I don't have time to get them done often. I can safely say I will never get acrylics done here again. I might come back for a pedicure though, and they are great at doing eyebrows. read more

I came with my grandma looking for a good time getting our nails done. I don't know the name of the guy who was doing my nails but he had an attitude and it made me feel horrible and i am very sensitive so I felt like crap afterwards . TERRIBLE TERRIBLE. I started going to QN with my mom more often. We would get our nails done for her birthday, for the summer, for Thanksgiving, for Christmas. Basically all the holidays. The service was bad, and we would notice until after the work was done. Every single time, my Gel nails would start chipping on the side because the lady did not do her job well, she wouldn't shape them correctly either. We would ask for GEL and yet still received powder yet my mom and me did not know that Gel was indeed a gel consistency. (i know we were dumb) When I went with my friend, there was no one waiting. So you would think that the people would take their time, it was quite the opposite. She left my friend's nails looking like bubble gum was used for the Gel full set. She didn't file them correctly, she didn't shape them correctly either. IT WAS BY FAR THE WORST NAIL EXPERIENCE FOR HER. Both our nails were done in 20 minutes?! I've gone to places where they at least take 20 minutes to get the nail shape right. Such a shame because the guy who I think is the owner is such a nice guy, but the salon is not worth any money. read more

Awesomesauce. I walked in on a Friday afternoon and within an hour or so, I had gotten both a mani and pedi for pretty cheap. My manicure lasted for almost two weeks and a bit longer for the pedi. I went in last Wednesday 7/29 for a gel nail fill and a pedicure. I was very unhappy with the pedicure. Basically, my feet were soaked, nails clipped/filed and then polished. No scrub... No massage... No lotion. The gel fill looked ok until she painted my nails and I could see how uneven they were. I had to ask the tech to clean my cuticles as there was nail polish all over them. She did but they were still dirty. I left there paying more for less in comparison to my usual nail salon. Within 24 hours 2 nails cracked, I was on vacation so I couldn't get it fixed for 4-5 days. I called and the manager said he would take care of it. When I went in today he was very nonchalant as if he were merely placating a bratty child. He fixed the 2 cracked nails and when I showed him an uneven nail as well as a nail with gel that wasn't filed down he smirked. Then told me to use a file at home. I told him that I paid for their services and I do not expect to have to correct their mistakes afterwards. He offered to change the color saying "it's on me" well did he think I was going to walk out with 3 freshly painted nails and leave the rest with their 5 day old color? I had to ask him twice to put on a second coat of polish because it was uneven. He replied that it would be "too thick". I told him that my hands are a reflection of his work, his business... Again he smirked. When my color was dry I said thank you (because my mother raised a polite child) and walked out. I will NEVER go there again. A very poor experience with a no chip nail. I would not recommend. My no chip got ruined the same day after stepping out of the salon. I Went back to get it fix on Monday since Sunday was closed but not only the staff got upset and treated me very poorly but also cut me and burned me while leaving me on a chair on purpose for a long time on acetone (not mentioning that the lady who had done the no chip on that Saturday had cut me a few times while cutting my cuticles). I have been coming here for about 8 years on & off now. They're located in the Cermak Plaza Shopping Center. The service here has always been great. They greet you as soon as you walk in, you tell them what services you're there for, and they direct you to where you need to go. It's as easy as that. No fuss, no hassle. I came in this place for the 1st time Saturday for a filling...and french tip. I got seated right away, but the the service was unbelievably bad. The middle aged foreign man was very rude. His whole demeanor felt like he was bothered to be doing my nails. He left my nails looking very scratchy on the surface. Nothing another coat of clear nail polish would not fix. I thought of asking for another coat, but I just wanted to get out of there. The french tip and nail shape on one of my fingers was very crooked. I will say the rest of the staff seems very nice. After paying way too much for not-so-hot pedicures, my mom and I decided to find a new place, and lucky for us we found Queen Nails! It is totally no-fuss, and they may tsk tsk you for the state of your feet (they told my mom she'd better start coming every 3 weeks!) However, they fit my mom and I in for mani-pedis at short notice and the whole bill was $100 with tip! This was 2 weeks ago and my toes still look great. They are in the Cermak Plaza mall and since it is currently under construction their storefront is kind of hard to find but it is totally worth it. Plus, they have a big screen TV so I could watch cooking shows while getting my feet massaged. Joy! read more
