Been coming here for a couple months now. For the moat part the service has been good. I have yet to identify who the good nail techs are. I usually get stuck with this 1 guy that seems like he may still be learning the ins & outs, which is fine. However, I expect a certain quality of service & he isnt able to provide that. The last time that i went i did ask for another tech. Their work was better on my hands but she never offers or asks me what kind of pedicure i want ahe always just does a regular pedi, when i want something else. I never mention it b/c at that point i just feel like 1 its poor customer service & 2 you're missing out on $. I have noticed that there are only 2 male techs that know how to giev the shape that i am looking for and they usually have to come & fix the work of the others. I get dip powder on my natural nails w/ coffin shape and have been doing so for 5 yrs now. So being told that its not possible to give me this is incorrect, its more so the skill of the tech. My last set was from Valentines day and today 3/6 they still look really good. I don't have straight nail shots but did capture them in some selfies which is what i wanted to show. They are not all fresh seta but are 1-2 weeks old. The work i do requires me to use my hands & wash them frequently so this gives a pretty good idea of how well they hold up. While my set prior to this resulted in my top layer peeling within days for the most part ive had an okay experience. I am giving them 1 last try before i move on to a different spot. read more

A nail place with an extensive selection of dip powder colors, accepts appointments and consistent service is a keeper. Having visited twice, I can say this is my new go to. While I was a very loyal customer of another salon, I often struggled to find matching colors for no chip or dip powder when opting for a regular manicure, but not here. In my experience, dip lasts longer and has a better appearance when your nails grow. No chip toe polish is $20 extra with a pedicure (prices start at $40). read more

I went to 5 Star Nails a few weeks ago after I found out a different local nail salon didn't offer regular nail polish. When I asked if the 5 Star Nail salon offered regular nail polish, the staff seemed pretty shocked at my request, which I found odd. The tried to tell me that it would chip very quickly. I told the staff that I was aware. I was ok with it chipping sooner because gel nail polish damages my nails too much. I don't get them done very often. After I explained, they ended up taking me in right away, which was great. The manicure itself was pretty basic and quick. A few of the edges were still a bit rough, so I file them again when I got home. The nail tech also forgot to remove some of the nail polish he got on my skin, but I didn't tell him. I didn't want to be a bother. All in all, it was ok, but I probably won't be back. read more

Hands down the best nail salon in the area. Very clean and precise, all of their nail techs are talented. I strongly suggest you make an appointment but you can walk right in during the week before rush hour. They will take you before the walk-ins if you have an appointment. Omg!! I FOUND MY NEW GO-TO nail spot. Ok so, I want to start off by saying, that I don't review often anymore and the fact that I am taking the time to is because I genuinely really really really am happy with my service. Also because I went to another nail salon just .5 miles away and after having given this spot a chance, I'm a loyal customer. So I got dip powder a lil over 2 weeks ago but they were so horrible from the previous place, I was desperate to get them done (wasted a whole $43). I decided to give 5 stars a try and well, since my hands were already a hot mess and I wasn't feeling it, I decided to do a full service pedicure again and a new set of dip powder. Both my spa pedicure ($38) and my dip powder experience was very pleasant. What I liked about the experience is 1) they were courteous 2) all new equipment, packaged and sterilized 3) thorough! 4) and results are gorgeous. I want to note that particularly with my dip powder on my hands, the gentleman that helped took so many steps to ensure my nails came out beautiful. He huffed and filed them multiple times. One thing they did which sounds minimal but I think made a huge difference is how they dusted off the powder.. unlike the other place, they would just tack it on. Also, he filed and buffed my nails so there was a more natural look and it wasn't so thick and raised. I am super happy and I can't too looking at my nails. The dip powder was $38. Total was $76. Versus the other place I went to was $70 for a horrible job. read more

Wanted to do an updated review for 5 Star Nails. I recently relocated to Texas and had to say goodbye to Ken who has been one of the best nail technicians I have ever received service from. Not only is he a wonderful person to chat with, but he takes pride in his business and his services. I had been getting my nails done by Ken for almost 2 1/2 years and never received a bad service and my nails were always complimented with how beautiful they stayed even after two weeks (when they start to wear down). I will miss Ken and his nail shop dearly and I hope anyone reading this review goes in and trusts Ken and his wonderful team. I recommend making an appointment as I did every time I needed a service and never had to wait. Wait times aren't normally long but if you want your service done as soon as you walk in, I highly recommend calling ahead. read more

I've gotten nail service here, but it's up & down with nails, less consistent than their pedi's. They need better nail polish here. The customer service at this nail salon is awful. The management skills do not exist. The past two times I was there, I scheduled an appointment on the phone a week in advanced at 9:30 and I arrived on time. However, the nail technicians never get there on time and they do not start my nails until 10:00. I was waiting for over 30 minutes today to be serviced after I scheduled my appointment a week in advance, I finally left at 10:00 after there was no sign of any nail technician coming to work on me. Be careful to make appointments, I would not recommended this nail salon if you have a schedule. Take into consideration that you will most likely have to wait at least 30 minutes after your scheduled time. I will never be coming back to this nail salon. read more

I'm most annoyed that they don't clean anything in the facility. They wiped the tools down with alcohol after each person and said that was "clean." I'm used to them coming out of individual packages....or at least seeing them be actually washed or something? My gel manicure lasted for about 3 days and the guy that did it said "he didn't work at the salon" which is weird because why do you have people here who don't work here???? I used to love this place. I've been coming here for almost a year and Tina was doing my nails. Over the past month Tina is no longer available and I've had two different techs. The first tech was amazing. This time, I had another tech and I hate to say I'm never coming back. I've had dip powder nails done several times to the point I know the process and know how long it takes. I'll wait for my nails to be done. The nail tech was very complimentary the whole time but I felt like she didn't want to do my nails at all. I left and they were a little bulky for my liking but I just felt I would get them redid in a week and make it work. However, I woke up in the morning and they were peeling and flaking which is strange since they were dip nails. I called and they said no problem, just come back. I came in and they were like it's just the top coat. So the same nail tech tries to fix them and I left so unhappy. She told I'm guessing the shop manager and he came over to try to convince me that the color had glitter in it. Since this is the shop brand, and I've had a color with glitter in it before I knew this wasn't the case. I believe in sticking by your workers but I'm not a first time customer. I'm at the shop every 2-3 weeks and I guess this is the hill they want to die on. They're bubbling now and it's just offensive. I didn't raise my voice, I just asked that they fixed, but I could tell by her energy that she didn't want to do my nails correctly. So I'm done doing business with them. read more

Unprofessional and wasted my time, they tried to overly tax me because I wanted long nails. They first told me an ombre set would be $60 but because I needed a soak off and I had wanted long nails it's gonna be $40 extra so my total would be 100$ that is ridiculous. They were clearly just trying to finesse me.Any other nail salon would not charge try to charge me more than 85$. For my pedicure they didn't even get the nail polish off my skin or file my nails to make them even. Then for my fingers I got a super cute design but 4 hours later the "no chip" was chipping and rubbing off. Been here about four times already and although its a semi new location, you can tell they receive a lot of repeat customers (That's a good sign). I now live in California but every single time I'm in town and need some pampering, this is my go-to spot. I've gotten manicures and pedicures done here so I can vouch that it's a great place to visit for both services. They do a really great job!! & their pedicure massage chairs are amazing! All of their materials are sterilized clean and the areas always pristine, which is always something to look for when you try new places. They do carry a large selection of regular polishes and gel nail polishes. If you go MON-TUE-WED, they have $5 off deal (anything you get)! Give them a try. Horrible service. Went there with a big group for an upcoming wedding, they were confused after we explained multiple times that we were all getting the same thing. The guy I had was the worst guy I've ever had do my nails. The cut me on 3 fingers and 1 toe. Messed up my nails 3 times and got frustrated when I asked to fix it. I absolutely love this place. I regularly come in every 2 weeks for the last 6months. The message chair is fantastic not to rough on the back and clean. I do know they have specials on pedis but I always upgrade to the 35$ one. It has this foaming processes on your legs up to your knees; that just makes you melt. I call it the "love" part. You walk-in and someone is close to the door to say hello. I 99%of the time make a appointment the day before I go in. Never been told no. I found my favorite nail tech; his name is David. He's makes sure you like the nails; I really like mine pointy. And so far he has the best at the shape. So I definitely recommend this place. I've been getting my eyebrows done here for almost 2 years. Which is why I trusted them enough to start to get my nails done here on the regular. (which I never have tried before. This used to be my all time favorite go-to nail salon but ever since they got new staff I feel like they are off their game. The salon in general looks kind of messy where as it used to be the best one around. I was always drawn to it's cleanliness and today this was something I noticed needed help. I got a dip manicure for the first time and it looked great but I felt it was a bit rushed. I had to remind the girl to please make them all the same length and also to clean up my cuticles.
