Purchased a mother of the groom dress for my sister - who is a plus size 5X. ( not many stores carry anything formal in this size range ) Three weeks before the wedding- my sister is hospitalized and then, moved to rehab. Ten days before the wedding, Julie drives to the rehab facility on a Sunday morning and fits the dress. I pick it up three days before the big event. My sister looked like a princess! My nephew cried when he saw how beautiful his mom looked and most important felt! I am a customer for life. Recommend to everyone. read more

This store is AWESOME! My mom was having a hard time finding a gown for my wedding, so I did some research and came across this store. We met with who I believe was the owner, and she was absolutely fantastic. They have a TREMENDOUS selection of plus size dresses,-within minutes, even before finding her dress, my mom was so happy. She ended up finding the perfect gown for my wedding, something she was starting to think wasn't possible. I can't thank this store enough for making my mom so happy, and for such a great experience. The saleswomen was rude and on a personal phone call when we came in. Refused to help and said some dresses were out of budget but we had no budget. Showed a stained dress to us and expected us to try it on. If we had the right customer service, it would of been a much better experience. Completely disappointed. Was also rude to another guest who walked in about 10 minutes after. Not a great look to many. read more

After looking in numerous stores with no success for a dress for my daughters wedding a friend recommended Queen of Hearts to me. What a great experience!! Julie was wonderful and she helped me find a dress that looks great and was very comfortable. I received so many compliments on my dress at the wedding and I felt fabulous. Julie even opened the store just for me on Christmas Eve Day so my daughter (the bride) who lives out of town could see the dress while she was here for the holidays. Do not waste your time going here! I had a terrible and very upsetting experience at this store. I brought my elderly mother there to find a gown for her granddaughters wedding. I traveled from Lindenhurst,which is at least a thirty minute drive. When we walked in and started to browse at some gowns, a very rude woman greeted us by asking if we had an appointment. I said no I wasn't aware we needed one. She responded with "appointments are best". I felt very awkward. I said "ok I guess we'll come back" She said "Yes make an appointment for during the week" When I heard that I said no" Thank You" and walked out! I have a full time job and this store closes at 6. There not open Sunday or Monday. She let two potential customers walk out!! I was planning on buying a gown also. There was only one person in that store whom she was helping. Did we not fit her idea of the proper clientele? I only gave this one star because I had too in order to post this .it doesn't deserve a star at all. Unbelievable !! read more

THE WORST EXPERIENCE I EVER HAD!! Very RUDE! My Mom purchased a dress for $500.. She goes for her 1st fitting and comes home crying.. So I decide to go to the 2nd fitting and see what was the matter with the dress.. Now mind you my mom is a very quiet person and generally thinks everything is wonderful.. SO her appt was at 11am.. We get there and they have another customer who walked in trying on 50 dresses.. The only reason this is a problem is because this place is 500 square feet packed with dresses.. you cant move!! There are only 2 dressing rooms and 1 mirror like I have in my bedroom!!! ONE MIRROR!! So we are standing BEHIND the other cutomer sharing the mirror.. I guess since my mom already paid in full she was no longer a priority! Now the seamstress is standing right next to me looking at the dress and I see exactly why my mom was upset the 1st fitting bc the dress is ALL WRONG! My Mother is petite and I guess the dress was made for a women with a longer torso.. bc the dress had a beaded band that was supposed to lay right under the bustline but instead it fell right in the middle of her stomach!!! It was not flattering at all and the whole back was buckled!!! So I am not a seamstress and I bring the band to under the bustline and amazingly the whole dress fell the way it was supposed too.. Now the whole time I am doing this the seamstress is standing there saying NOTHING! No advice.. no pins.. SILENCE.. I had to ask her and make sure she was the seamstress? I guess she was pissed that she had more work to do but she shouldve done this in the first place!!! Now I shouldve realized this place was going to be bad when I 1st walked in and saw Pictures abd articles EVERYWHERE of the owner.. She must have had a family member work for Newsday in the 90's bc thats when the awards were from! Anyone who wants to look at themselves that much trying to convince themselves they run a wondeful business is INSANE! Well bottom line is we had to take the dress as is bc I DID NOT HAVE CONFIDENCE IN THE SEAMSTRESS being that she didnt even break out her pins!! Usually the seamstress is pulling and tucking piinning making the dress custom made for you!! Now one month before my wedding we have to find another seamstress!!! And the owner just stands there saying well if you want to come back WED.. why would I come back again for a 3rd time to not accomplish ANYTHING!! My wedding is Sept 17th!! Do yourself and your mom a favor and STAY AWAY let the owner stare at herself all over the walls ALONE!!! If you run a good business you dont need to hang chamber of commerce awards and newsday articles everywhere! Its 2011 it doesnt matter that you won something in 1996 read more
