I came to Princess Bridals as part of Brides Across America. I looked the shop up before my appointment and saw the reviews weren't great so I didn't have the highest of hopes, but of course there's still some hope. From the moment I walked in, I felt an awkward uncomfortable unfriendly feeling (not rude, just weird), which continued throughout the appointment. I don't know the consultants names as they didn't introduce themselves. I think there was a hand full of sentences exchanged between us. One consultant was shoving dresses in the dressing room with me, which is the size of a closet, while I still had a dress on so I had to step all over them and kick the dress I took off out of the room under the curtain. I also only got to try on maybe 5 dresses as they started the appointment late but made sure to tell me I only had 8 minutes left at the end. They put the dress in a bag and handed it to me without really saying anything like they just wanted me out. I don't know if they were new or not interested because there is no commission on a free dress, but I would not recommend. I was really looking forward to " saying yes to the dress" at this location unfortunately my experience was horrible. Dry communication. No excitement. From the moment we walked in we didn't feel welcomed. The associate that was assigned to me asked what my vision is and I showed her a picture and explained what I liked/disliked. She had me walk around with her and pick dresses , she just didn't make me feel welcomed as a soon to be bride this should be an exciting part of wedding planning .I understand you can get frustrated and tired handing dresses to soon to be brides but that's the entire point of dress shopping to try on a dress until you find the one. I went out to show a dress to my family and the associate walked away with out saying a single word. Completely rude. she wouldn't engage with me and ask me what I liked and disliked about the dress I had on. The receptionist or whatever her position was came towards me I asked her if I can try the one dress I felt could've been the one back on and she told me we have 5 min left. My associate didn't even come back at this point I knew I wasn't giving this place money. I changed and left and the associate that was assigned to me was sitting behind the register. Completely dismissive I do not recommend this place. I ended up finding my dream dress at max bridal the following day and the service and engagement was exceptional. read more

They were not professional. They tried to present me with a floor model instead of my ordered dress! Never will recommend them.

The one star was because the attendant at least was very sweet and Helpful. She was very new and didn't know how to measure. They tried to sell me the floor sample for $300 more than what the tag originally was on the dress. I swam in the floor sample it was 4 sizes too big. They said that the dress was no longer available and couldnt order my size. ...because they didn't make that kind of Lace anymore. They could lower the price $200 off the floor sample. when I was in the Try on room, the tag read $595 but at the front desk, they tried to tell me the dress was $895. I tried to check the price but the tag was now missing. I only tried on a few dresses. Strange, we had discussed the prices in the back too. The seamstress tried to put dresses over this one so i wasnt able to 'check'. Sorry i want a dress that needs less alterations, fits better and wasnt used and worn down for that money. I appreciated her professionalism and that she didn't put pressure on me at all, and was not there to push a sale, but to help find a dress I liked. I originally came to Princess Bridals because I had a horrible experience at another bridal shop in NYC (RK Bridals... never go there!) and Princess Bridals was the only other place close by that carried the dress I fell in love with. My experience was like night and day compared to RK! First off, the woman on the phone, Lynn was super helpful and answered all my questions, including the price of the dress, estimated delivery time, and was even able to get a price match for me by talking to the owner! I went the next day alone to do the fitting and they were so, so sweet! The place had such a warm family vibe and they made me feel so special and beautiful in the dress I had picked out. Even though I went alone since most of my family and friends were too far away to join, all the employees made sure I didn't feel lonely by coming by to tell me how beautiful the dress looked on me. They just really made me feel like I was part of their family. The lovely woman Trinidy who was helping me out was so knowledgeable and made a bunch of super helpful recommendations for veil lengths, hairstyles, and how to bustle the dress down the line. I also love that Princess Bridals is completely family owned (they even have a picture of the owner's mom in her wedding gown on the wall and their grandmother's actual wedding gown in the store!). You could tell they truly value their customers and were so respectful, never pressuring me or judging me in any way. Also, for a small family-owned business, I was really impressed by all the different lines of dresses they carried. They had such a wide selection and actually way more dresses to look at than David's Bridals in NYC, not to mention all the dresses were really well maintained. (The dresses both at David's and RK bridals had so many stains on them that it was a little gross trying them on.)The other great part about Princess I heard was that their seamstress is incredibly gifted and can have a super fast turnaround time if you're in a rush. I would also recommend coming here with a group, since unlike David's, they had plenty of seating for people on super comfy looking couches and also serve champagne! That being said, the others were very close but he nailed it with that one! Oh and the veil...it was as though it was made for the dress! Princess Bridal was the second place I went to find a dress. I didn't think I was going to buy one right away but Ally found the perfect one for me. Somehow it fit me (almost) perfectly and Charles made me an amazing offer I couldn't say no to to buy the dress off hanger! PLEASE READ TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. DO NOT RECOMMEND! Rarely do I leave reviews, but after my experience at Princess Bridal in Farmingdale NY, the consultants left me no choice. I've currently been searching for braidsmaid/maid of honor dresses for my childhood friend's wedding. I've tried on numerous dresses designed by House of Wu, Vera Wang, Marchesa Notte, Morilee, Xscape, BCBGMAXAZRIA, and more. (These gowns range from $250-$1200) Yesterday, July 17th, 2019, before heading to the gym, I decided to quickly explore options at Sak's and Fifth Ave, Macy's, and Lord and Taylor's. After unsuccessful dress fittings, I decided to go to Princess Bridals; specifically because it stated under the description "Boutique for wedding & bridesmaid gowns." First: I was greeted by two women, who mentioned that they don't carry bridesmaid/maid of honor dresses. Solely, bridal and mother of the bride. When I mentioned that their website mentions bridesmaid dresses, they said they had a couple. Second: I requested to browse around, but they both insisted on assisting me. My color request was Periwinkle to Baby Blue, her response: "How about Lavender" Third: As I waited for the first consultant to search for some gowns, the second consultant felt the need to mention THREE times the dresses here are expensive. Stating: "People come thinking that they're cheap but they start at $500." NEVER did she simply ask me what my price range was. Instead, she proceeded by asking me what town I was from, as if that matters. After realizing that their dress selections were affordable for me, she attempted to showcase dresses that were located towards the storefront, but by that time, it was too late. I'm a black woman, from Long Island NY. There's no need for me to disclose my profession, nor my place of residence, to validate whether I can afford such garments. So to say the least, I was highly offended and would NEVER recommend Princess Bridal. read more

My Mother in law loved her dress she picked for my wedding and the alterations were good. BUT! It took FOREVER for her dress to come in although they promised 3 months. She ordered it WAY in advance (she was more excited than I was about my dress!) . I went with her to look at it when it came in. They asked me where I got my dress. I told them and showed them pictures (I had just printed them to show some people that day). The owner went on to say how that dress was all wrong for me, would not be able to be taken in properly, and then BERATED and PUT DOWN the place I bought it in. That is very bad business. You never put down another place! Also, if you were smart, try to talk me into a second dress or an accessory. Make me like you so I will recommend you to other brides. I actually came here for a non-bridal related visit (although I did spy some brides who were having a lovely time trying on dresses. All smiles and excited squeals!) I bought a gorgeous Doo.Ri dress on eBay (I saw it, I had to have it...etc.) that needed to be let out in the bust. I brought it to two other places that do alterations who said it could not be done! In a last ditch effort on my drive home, I saw this little store took my dress in. I was greeted promptly, treated with kindness and professionalism by all the staff present. I was thrilled with the fact that they never questioned doing the alterations even though I hadn't even bought the dress from them. The alterations department was completely confident that they would be able to get it done. AWFUL place. DO NOT GO HERE. I repeat, do NOT go here!! First, let me explain the dinginess of the overall look of the place. Disgusting. Looks like you've walked into 80s prom nightmare - and it looks like they haven't cleaned the place since then, either. Secondly - I won a free headpiece from them at a bridal expo a few months back at the Oceanbleau in Westhampton, NY. I was treated worse than I even have in my LIFE. Every single woman in that place had a worse attitude than the next. They said there was so proof that I won this - ok. I signed a book, spoke with the owner, and had a card in my hand. Really ? I'm lying about this? They acted as if I was a felon trying to rob them. Disgusting human beings. These women are just awful. I even overheard a nice woman who walked in asking if there was any dress for the mother of the bride under $250 - The NASTY saleswoman said "OH god, absolutely not. No way". This poor woman was shut down immediately, and said awkwardly "oh ok, thanks anyway..." You would've thought this woman asked for the saleswoman's first born. Overall, regardless of my situation, these women are awful. I'd never trust style advice from women who are wearing pajama jeans and Reebok's from the 90's. Stay far, far away. Charles was so helpful from start to finish, especially with helping me pick out the perfect veil to complete the look and give me that "Wow" entrance. From reading the current reviews I must've been at a different location. Rebecca was the one that helped me find my wedding dress and she was an angel! From the moment I walked in, she was very energetic and helpful. I showed her pictures of what i had in mind and she brought out dresses that were absolutely beautiful. But what i appreciated most was the fact that she listened to my budget and brought me dresses that were stayed in that range. My wedding dress shopping experience was fantastic because of Rebecca. Although I do admit the altering is pretty pricey, once you have a budget in mind, you will definitely find a beautiful gown to match your style. My mom also got her dress from here. I am not a bride-to-be, but being my best friend's Man of Honor I want to ensure that I support her in this journey towards her big day. Upon entering the boutique, we were greeted by Lin and Rosemary. They were warm and friendly. They catered to us and help my friend narrow down her wedding dress from three selection. They listened and understood what she was looking for. What was even better was meeting Chuck, the owner who came and surprised us to to champagne while the entourage waited on her trying out the different dress. Talk about customer service. I am not sure we would've received it if I didn't mentioned it, nevertheless, we were catered and I was glad and appreciative to see that the owner did his best to make us feel comfortable for one of life's most important moments. Leaving we took a picture and my friend was able to say yes to the dress! The ladies did a tremendous jobs. They were very congenial and knowledgeable. STAY AWAY! Worst experience with their owner and customer service. I almost bought my dress here and am so glad I didn't! Like all bridal salons, they charge a $50 no show fee, understandably. However, I went to my appointment, which they confirmed, and still charged me TWO $50 no show fees. In speaking to other brides, this has become a common fraudulent practice. One bride told me she only got the refunds because they charged her BEFORE her appointment ever happened and she demanded the refund on the spot. Now, over a month since I brought it to their attention, they still have only credited me one fee and I've involved my credit card company in the dispute. read more

Instead of explaining the long story, I'll list the facts that come from it. -We were told dresses would be in end of May... may 31st, dresses weren't in but told would be in next week. Ok... a little inconvenient but we understood. -Got a little more frustrated when the employee stated that she never said end of May when she absolutely did tell the bride and myself (maid of honor) -The bride was rushed out of her fitting by the gentlemen who seemed to be the owner. -Next week rolls around and I called to be told dresses STILL weren't in on top of a nasty attitude from the woman AGAIN saying she never said next week and would call when they come in. -In the end... we were left with one week to have all alterations done for all the bridesmaids before we left for the destination wedding.... which we made that date very clear before placing the dress order. I would 100% NOT recommend this place to even my worst enemy. The establishment is completely unorganized and the staff is rude and can't own up to their mistakes... instead try to push them on you. This place is gorgeous!! The ladies are super nice. The dress prices are moderate , but their tailoring prices are way too expensive. So I did get my tailoring done elsewhere. I loved the dress I got here as a bridesmaid and the staff was so helpful in getting me in and out of the dresses. I also never felt pressured to get the dress which I think is super important, because who like a pushy sales person? I would suggest this place to any nervous bride my sister-in law loved how easy they were to work with. The wait time on the dress was a bit long about 3-4 months.
