I absolutely loved my experience at New Queen of Nails. This will be my go to nail salon during and after COVID19. I've been to other nail salons, but I have not been to a place where they took serious precautious. They took my temperature, and made sure that I wore my mask. My favorite nail salon - I have been going to this place for years. They have taken every precaution for COVID-19. As you enter your temperature is taken, masks are required, social distancing is enforced, and plastic barriers are between each station, including the drying area. Staff wear masks, face shields, and gloves and they sanitize each station as someone leaves it. Very impressed with their safety measures. I've been going to Queen of nails for about 10 years, after moving to Suffolk and not being close to there I decided to make an appointment since I was in the area. I walked in at 630(with an appointment at 625) for a pedicure. I called and told them I was running late and they still said for me to come in. She was done with my pedicure in TWELVE minutes tops, mind you I paid full price for my pedicure and only got 1/4 of the services. They didn't even let me dry my toes for even 5 minutes before basically kicking me out because (645pm)they were closing at 7. This was by far the worst experience i have ever had there. I will definitely reconsider coming back and referring everyone I know that lives in or near Syosset to go there. read more

I love this place! Everyone who works here is super friendly. They recently renovated and the changes are beautiful. I love coming here because their services are great for the best price. They have different gel manicures (UV gel and powder), new Essie no chip colors, and spa manicures. What's not to love? I am a huge fan of their different spa pedicures, they have a good variety and they aren't too expensive. Great gifts for friends and family! There is even an affordable spa pedicure that is a little bit cheaper and quicker for those who don't want to spend $$. I am also a fan of the massages too. They usually do them as you dry your nails but if you do gel they give them at the manicure chairs. Let me tell you - they are amazing. I feel relaxed and stress free after one. I am always telling friends and coworkers to try this nail place out. I never leave disappointed. Their customer service is great, they are always willing to fix a little chip in my polish. I am so upset that I moved out of state because I no longer can treat myself to this place. It is rather expensive; however, I leave every time feeling clean and totally relaxed. The manicure pedicure combo has gone up in price recently about 32$ plus tip; however, at the end of your service while your nails are drying you get a 20+ minute massage. The massage girls are great and they really take their time with you. I figure the mani-pedi price is so high because it includes your "free" massage. The only bad experience I had was when I got a color change; that is when you don't have the time/ money to get a full manicure you just get quickly serviced. The color application was so poor it was as if she did my nails blindfolded. I would not recommend a color change- go for the whole manicure. When it's not busy they will come massage you as your getting your nails done PLUS the massage you get at the end. I really miss this place Make an appointment and get a box. Very clean salon. Mani and Pedi is pricey $35 but the best thing is you get a 20min massage while drying your nails and you basically just tip them. And I must say the massage is very good! So if your in the need for a massage go there otherwise the quality of the mani & padi is nothing different than other salons. read more

I have been hesitating to write this review for some time. I kept giving them one last chance because their free massages (with tip while drying) are great! But their chances have run out for me. It's very busy here often, which is good for them, but not great for you when you 1) made an appointment and wanted to be in and out and 2) would like your nails to be done by an actual nail tech. When it's busy they have their girls who are not licensed and usually do the free massages or pedicures do your nails. My main complaint is with who I believe to be the owner is. Simultaneously, she does your manicure while answering phones and writing in the appointment book. It takes literally double the time when she stops every 3 minutes to pick up the phone and write in the book. It is very frustrating. I am not exaggerating when I tell you it took her once 2 hours to do a silk wrap fill in for me. I'm patient, but after a while it was more stressful than relaxing. I decided to give it one last try & politely told her before we started that I needed to be out in an hour. I figured if I didn't speak up and communicate my needs then it was partially my fault. So I was nice about it and she said OK. 3 minutes later she proceeded to pick up calls and write in the book. I let it go until she picked up 5 calls in a row within 10 minutes (yes I counted lol). I politely reminded her that I needed to be in and out & that I was on my lunch break and could not be there for 2 hours again like the last time. When she picked up the phone again and had to stop AGAIN to write in the book, I pointed out that a few minutes on the phone constantly throughout my fill in is why it takes so long & perhaps a receptionist could help with keeping appointments on time. She laughed and started talking about me in another language. I know this because in english she said "lunch break". She did a rush job on my nails and I had polish on the sides of my nails and fingers. I was disappointed. The 2 reasons I liked to go here previously was because it is 1) close to my job & 2) has free massages. I have to give the massage girls that - they give a nice and relaxing massage for the full 10-15 you are drying. But for me I don't have all day and I like to be in and out. The stress of lack of respect to appointment times just isn't worth it for me anymore, so I'm saying goodbye to Queen of Nails. read more

This place was amazing for years (take time with your nails and great manicure/pedicures with a great massage while you dry your nails) but Sam is no longer the owner, and the new owner has ruined this place. I have been coming here for years and the new owner does not know how to run a nail salon. I made an appointment for 12:00 and was not seated until 12:40...meanwhile, while I waited they took TWO walk-ins before me. What about customer loyalty??? Then, when I mentioned to Kim (the crazy, short-haired manicurist who is very rude- however the only rude one there) that I was waiting for a half hour already she didn't even apologize, just mumbled to the manicurist next to her to hurry up in Korean. She shouldn't have had to rush someone else's manicure to make room for mine- that was never what this place was about. Sam used to have an amazing selection of colors, and was always the first to get the new Essie and OPI collections in. He also always made sure there were duplicates of the colors in the back so if one went missing it could be easily replaced. Sadly, this is another thing that the new owner does not do.. I asked for three colors, including a basic that every nail place should (and usually does) have (Fiji) and they didn't have ANY of the colors! And no apology for that, either. Then, to top it all off, it wasn't even a manicurist doing my nails. Since this new owner understaffs the place, it is now the massage women's jobs to do manicures and pedicures, apparently, because one of the massage ladies did my nails. Such a shame, no nail place ever compared to Queen, up until this. What a horrible experience. Needless to say, I am now on the lookout for a new nail spot. Don't say I didn't warn you.... read more

I've been going here for a few months. It's very clean, but also very busy. I've gone on Fridays and Saturdays and it is super crowded. I would suggest making an appointment, or going on an off day. I like the color selection and quality and overall this is a solid place to go for a mani/pedi, that also isn't very expensive. $29 for a mani/pedi. I took my little sister once and they have a kid's price for a mani/pedi at $20, which is very reasonable. The fact they give you a massage while your nails dry is nice - and makes the drying process go quicker. You can also spend $5 to buy your own box, which comes with a card that gives you points towards a free manicure. If you go often, it's definitely worth it. As with any salon, some manicurists are better than others, but I think overall, they do a good job - my manicure lasts for about a week. read more

I used to love this place. Last time I was there I made an apt and still waited 20 minutes even though it was a Friday in the middle of the day. The next time I went the person who was doing my gel manicure was also answering the phone (Are you kidding me?) so we had about 10 interruptions. The first time I came with my Grandmother(who is 91) and my Mom. We walked in without an appointment and the place was PACKED with teenagers..we were told it was prom season. I wanted a pedicure and manicure and my Grandmother just wanted a manicure. She doesn't get out much and she likes this place so I thought waiting wouldn't be a problem because we weren't on any tight schedule. I got called first for a pedicure it was not that great. She cut my big toe crooked and I said something and she fixed it but in order to fix it she cut my nail wayyyyy too short. I did like the hot stones which is different from other salons. But, this is not enough for me to come back EVER! I really wasn't satisfied but this was nothing for what was about to come. I asked for French on my toes and French tips which was $70 altogether. As I was getting my tips done they use a Styrofoam rectangle like other salons do and she was doing it so hard on my cuticles it made my skin very red and then when she was removing the dead skin with the metal tool that looks like tiny scissors she cut my cuticles on two fingers. One was my pinky (which is small a d hurts) and the other my middle finger. I really don't get my nails done too often and my grandmother was treating me so I felt bad because she really likes this place and I personally didn't want to make a scene. But, my Mother came over and asked me how everything was going BC my Grandmother was already finished. I told her how my fingers hurt and I was bleeding. My Mother demanded to speak to a manager. The "manager" was by FAR the worst professional I have ever seen in my life. She came back where I was drying my nails and asked what happened. I told her and she didn't even say sorry!! She said "oh, its BC YOU have sensitive skin." Are you kidding me?!?! It's the customers fault?! YOU are the professionals and should be trained more properly. I made myself a promise I would never return. A more apologetic and sincere manager (I was a customer service manager for over 3 years). I would never ever let a customer leave this unsatisfied and never HURT without even as much as an apology. Ridiculous!! How do you conduct business this way? So...okay I take my Grandmother back because she wants her nails done for her only sisters 90th birthday in Connecticut. We walk in and there are only 4 or 5 customers and she says no we are too busy. BS! She saw our faces and didn't want to take us. BC then the woman goes just manicure? I said yes just for her (BC I REFUSE to have them ever so much as touch me again). Then she goes oh no we are too busy. So why would you even ask what we wanted? They took us when we were walk ins and every seat and pedicure chair was full. Now, they are "too busy." Right. I am so done with this unprofessional, rude atmosphere who blames their mistakes on their customers. That's okay we went to Angel Tips next to Bagel Master. I always loved them the best anyways they've been around since I was a teenager that's how successful they have been. A woman I talked to in their even travels 20-30 min from Glen Cove passing many nail salons to go to Angel Tips. Beware of Queen of Nails and their rude unprofessional manager. I called after we left BC I didn't want to make a scene in front of my grandmother and told them I was going to make a report about this on Yelp. She asked me why and was actually fighting with me like I didn't have this right. Eventually, I heard another woman in the background telling the woman on the phone with me to HANG UP ON ME! Ugh! She did not even care about our second bad experience or the fact I was writing on Yelp. I just simply wanted to tell them what they did was not right and they could've squeezed in one manicure for my 91 year old grandmother.
