My appointments and visits to medical professionals have increased in recent years and most of them have been at Hale Pawaa, Queen's POB I or POB II. But just recently, I had an appointment at POB III. Opened for business in 2006, POB is a 7-story building that is associated with Queen's Medical Center which hosts medical professionals and offers a range of medical services. POB III is located on S Beretania Street and just next door to Board of Water Supply. The building entrance to POB III parking structure is on Lauhala Street. Just like POB I and II parking structures, you grab a ticket as you enter and pay at one of the multiple kiosks on property. I found POB III to be more modern compared to I and II. It also conveniently has a pharmacy and a snack shop on property. Being this was my first visit, I was a little overwhelmed with the foot traffic but many signs are posted to direct you to your destination. I was very pleased and satisfied by the services provided to me from their Imaging unit. It was easily found after following the signage to go down the stairs to the basement. Remember to settle your parking ticket at one of the kiosks located on 1F in POB III. Just scan the barcode and pay via card. Was a little worried coming here for my appointment but glad to report it went smoothly and completed in less than an hour where I didn't incur any parking fees. read more

Queens POB III... Which stands for Queens Physicians Office Building 3 as there are a couple others up the hill this more prominent one sits on busy South Beretania just before you make the right turn to the main Queens Hospital. Parking entrance is on Lauhala Street and is very easy to navigate though they do have a drop off area as well just before the parking entrance for convenience as well for pick up and drop offs. It's not my first time here but have been here quite awhile back to visit a physician but on this visit was for their Imaging which is one floor down, as I arrived and got situated the staff there are all very nice and professional and validating my ticket is nice as it's all taken care of with out time limitation is nice so that there's no rush as exactly what I did was take a moment to explore the area as mom has a future appointment here as well know that it's very easy and convenient to get your sessions done. I was very surprised at how slow and cramped the elevator from the parking lot is. First of all this building was very congested on a Monday morning. Parking was already full but I was able to get a stall. I have 2 elderly parents, one uses a cane and the other just started using a walker. We got out of the car and I'm looking for a ramp or elevator on the EF level. There was none! Rather you have to walk up a flight of 6 stairs to get to the level with an elevator. I did not want my parents walking on the ramp because cars were constantly driving down. I ended up carrying my dad's walker and helping him up the stairs. Then we waited about 5 minutes for the elevator to come up and then back down. By this time a line of people formed waiting for the elevator and we all end up squeezing in. The lobby also has no restroom. Other than this, we received good customer service and care from the Dr we visited. The restrooms on the office floors were clean and the Dr offices itself were clean also. read more

The elevator for the parking garage must be the slowest on the island. Also the smallest. (Badly designed) During the mid morning, it's always crowded, people are packed in like sardines. If someone sneezes or farts, that's it. If I didn't have a bum leg, I'd use the stairs. read more

The third and final Queen's Physician's Office Building, and what a nice building!! I gotta say that I've never been in this building and have only dropped off and picked up. This building is so much nicer than the other two. Everything is more modern and clean. The parking is very easy to get in and out. The stalls are spacious, and getting to the building from the parking is even quicker. Temperature checks were taken before you entered the building. The staff were friendly and helpful. I mainly just waited, and the outside courtyard was very nice. There were benches and tables with plastic dividers so you can have a meal and take a break without a mask. I wish all my family's doctors were in this building! read more

I love my PCP Dr. Steven Brauer and my rheumatologist, Dr. Scott Kawamoto! Both awesome doctors, very knowledgeable and thorough! Both are on the younger side, which is perfect for me, because it means they use MyChart! I love leaving messages and getting updates virtually! Only downside is the new parking rates :( 20 minutes to first hour is $5 and 1-3 hours is $10. With waiting times, I'm not always paying $10 to park! read more

This building is one of the three office buildings that belongs to Queens medical Center. It has outpatient physicians offices, a pharmacy on the first floor, and an x-ray department. There is also a small coffee snack shop located on the first floor. The thing I don't like about coming to this office building is the parking. The parking structure can get completely full, but they do have valet parking on the top floor. The problem is that at times the valet parking is full as well and they won't take any cars. Becomes a problem when you have to look for street parking and you have an appointment. The worst time to have an appointment is in the middle of the morning because good luck finding a parking stall! It's too bad because I actually like this office building but they don't have sufficient parking compared to the offices. read more

I'm not a patient here, I just come to the food stand that's located in the lobby. Today there was an incident in the lobby where a homeless woman started yelling at people walking into the lobby area. The security guard was there to calm her and escort get out of the building. Back to the food, it's the only eatery that I know that also offers vegetarian or vegan food. They have vegetarian sandwiches before 11am but the hot entrees aren't available till after 12noon. A very well rounded eatery. Sorry it's only take out. Though you can go outside to the lanai and sit on one of the many tables. Prices were good and the service was excellent. I'll definitely return to try their hot entree meals. read more

Since my physician who took care of me recently retired, I have established another account with a physician at this Physicians' Office Building. I actually like this location as it's quite accessible and the facilities appear to be much more up-to-date. Within this facility, you can find laboratory, pharmacy, imaging, liver, G.I. Services and pulmonary, surgical and trauma clinics. In addition, there are sports medicine, pain and spine and liver centers. Other clinics, medical specialties and services are provided (see directory) that I've not named. It's all under "one roof" as the POB III is an extension of the Queen's Medical Center system. There is a parking structure that is attached to this structure and most of the physician offices and services will validate your parking ticket up to a portion. Be careful to NOT lose your ticket as it'll really cost you more like $40 even if you only spent a few minutes in here! The imaging department receptionist is unprofessional. Instead providing patient with the form to fill out the personal information. She basically said I wasn't pre-registered that no one told me to to so, when the office called to make the reservation. She literally asked me every single "personal" such as sex, martial status, home address, phone number, spousal name, etc. questions orally behind the plexiglass that everyone sitting in the reception area can hear it. This is totally against the privacy law. To the administrative officer of the Queen's physicians building III, please review your operation protocol and develop better procedures and retrain the staff. read more

This is the newest edition of the "POBs" (Physician Office Buildings). Residents refer to this one as "POB III." Even though it's newer, some of the corridors are a bit maze-like, but not too bad. There are restrooms on each floor that, at least at the time I write this, do not require keys for access. There's a pharmacy on the ground floor, along with a small food / drink / coffee stand. They have a Bank of Hawaii ATM by the pharmacy. There's a courtyard of the back of the main floor with tables and chairs. Unlike some physician's office buildings, neither of the two major blood-draw labs (Diagnostic Laboratory Services or Clinical Labs) have a clinic on site. Bummer. Maybe that will change in the future. Sorry, no valet parking. While the address is Beretania Street, the building is on the corner of Beretania and Lauhala. The patient drop-off area can be accessed only from Lauhala Street. If you're on Beretania, turn right onto Lauhala. It's then the first driveway on the left. It's a good-sized drop off / pick up area with plenty of seating outside and inside. If you use TheBus, the closest is the 4 heading toward Nuuanu. Get off at Punchbowl and Beretania, at the stop by the Department of Health headquarters, across the street from the Hawaii State Capitol. There are also a bunch of buses that stop at the major stop (Stop 45) across Beretania from the Capitol - the A, C, E, 1, 2, 3, 9, 11, 13, 1L, 2L, 40, 42, 43, 51, 52, 53, 54, 80, 81, 82, 83, 84, 88, 89, 91, 92, 93, 96, 97, 98, 101, 102,103, 80B, 84A - phew! Both of the bus stops I have mentioned are past POB III. You'll need to walk back toward Lauhala Street (e.g., walk on Beretania for about a block, in the direction opposite to the flow of traffic on Beretania, which is a one-way. But keep in mind all these buses that stop at Stop 45 are travelling Westbound. If you are coming from downtown or beyond, you're going to do some walking. You'll need to walk up from King Street and Punchbowl, which adds about a block and a half. If you have trouble walking, it might be worth it to consider a taxi or car service. read more

Okay, a review for a parking lot? Really? Yes, really! Do you want a parking lot that is "large car" friendly? Well, this one is a candidate. I have a larger car and often find it hard to park in structures and parking lots that are narrow and have smaller stalls. Not here in POB III. I found that my car can adequately fit in a stall lengthwise and widthwise. It's not steep when going up to the next floor, which may be good for some. The only issue that I have is that when exiting and paying at the booth, you kind of have to watch yourself because it's on an incline. So as soon as that gate goes up to let you out, you should be fast with pressing on your gas pedal or you may roll back down and if there's a car in the back of you, well, you get the picture. Also, you exit on Lauhala Street, so you'll have to see if there are cars coming down before you turn right. Not a big issue, but if the exit is getting backed up, it might be because someone is just trying to turn, but there are cars not letting him/her go. Being that this was my first time here, I found this lot to be quite nice. Everything is appropriately labeled as to what floor you're located on and where the elevator is. The building is very nice as well. The lobby is nice with a pharmacy, snack place that you can buy drinks and food at, as well as some chairs to sit down on. Speaking of my doctor's office, I can say that it's really nice in decor. Not sure of other individual offices, however. read more

POB III's setup is exactly like pob I & II. Parking is on Lauhala Street between Beretania and Pensacola Street. Parking structure reminds me of Kapiolani hospital's old parking structure. You have to take an elevator to get to main lobby and you enter through a door. You'll see small cafe on right and pharmacy on left. My primary care physician has recently relocated to Queens physicians office building III so I have recently started to frequent this office building. Fortunately, there is an ample parking structure directly connected to the building. If you are going to radiology then the parking will be fully validated with no time restriction. However, if you are going just to see your doctor, it is typical to pay $1 per hour with a maximum of five dollars for the day. As with most doctors and definitely my primary care physician, it is best to go in the late afternoon for the shortest wait and fastest service. There is a radiology department in the basement and a pharmacy and snack bar in the lobby. I made the mistake of going to see my primary care physician in the morning around 10 a.m. And it was a 45 minute wait so I popped down to the lobby for breakfast at the snack bar and then went back up to see him. All in all physicians office building III can be a one stop shop for your medical needs. read more

Queens medical Center GI clinic is absolutely horrible! No one answers the phone when you attempt to call them back. When they leave you a message they're talking really fast and they're rude in person. Do you have any GI issues I would advise going somewhere else read more

I really like coming to POB III as strange as that may seem. I usually walk here and sometimes when I'm early I get something from the little deli on the ground floor. There's lots if seating near there and everything is made of glass so it's bright and pretty. There's also a security guard at the door, which is nice. I really LOVE my doctor here (Shera Sugibayashi) so my experience is so pleasant. The building is clean and up to date with nice views. I also had a PT here (Lisa Pobre) and she was also super nice. I would recommend both. Parking is expensive (I think, not sure since I hardly drive) for almost an hour, I paid $2. :/ read more

Pre registration over the phone is great and the staff taking the calls are always so kind. Disappointed no valet parking at the usual turn a round area by main lobby. It's only for those with handicap stickers. To valet park, you must go into the Miller parking which backs up quickly as everyone going in must wait until they check cars for dents and then takes your key. So not a very good location to do this. To pick up your car you must walk into parking structure following the green railing below the emergency room which eventually ends at an elevator. Take elevator to first floor where you give your ticket and wait for your car. At least there are seats to sit and wait and my car came pretty fast. At least parking was free...so I increased to 5 stars. read more

Dr. Laurie Asato (OB/GYN) and Dr. Daryl Ambrocia (RA) are located within this building and my wife and I come here as needed. They are super doctors in a super facility. As for the building, there is a nice lobby with a DLS and a coffee shop with everything to make that yucky feeling you get from the lab go away. I opt for the coffee and a bagel. The restrooms are spotless and the 3 elevators make for a quick trip, The parking is validated by the doctors and you can stay over an hour for $3. That's enough time for the visit, labs, and a snack. Great facility.... if you happen to be there and let's hope not. read more
