This is the best Labcorp I've ever went to. I don't have the best experiences when getting my lab…read moredrawn because I know I can be a hard stick but the person that helped me got me in and out so quickly. I took my son a few days later to get his lab drawn as well (he's 2) and they made the experience so bearable for me as a parent and for my son. He cried as toddlers would when getting poked by a needle but they made him comfortable from the beginning and he didn't even cry until the poke and he was settled right after with no issues. Plus, they gave him cute animal stickers that said "I was brave today!" I'm very happy with our experiences with the phlebotomists and front staff!

After waiting in line for a minute to check in at the kiosk (2 people in front of me), I navigated to the site to check in. Extremely easy and fast. After logging in and two clicks, I was checked in and sat down (the two in front of me were still waiting to check in). 90 seconds later, I was called to the front desk and taken to seat #2 and awaited my phlebotomist. One minute later, she arrived in the room, confirmed my identity, pleasantly & professionally took my blood, and released me to enjoy my day. All 11 persons before me were still waiting to be called in. Moral of the story, make an appointment when you can and take advantage of the online services.

PLEASE . . . . a fasting lab that does NOT open until 7:30am????! What the heck? Fasting labs…read moreshould be in high gear by 5am so people can get to work or school on time and so that diabetics can eat their morning meal on time. In line waiting for this lab to open were also people who had driven up from Hollister because Quest closed their Hollister facility and they needed to do the drive before rush hour when the roads headed toward San Jose get gridlocked. So they need the lab open as soon as possible in the morning. Now for the positives: The techs doing the blood draws were super nice and got the needed blood sample on the first venipuncture (something not common with my puny veins). Once you were called back to the blood draw area everything went super smooth. Final note: I HATE the check-in kiosks. Everyone behind you in the long line of people waiting for the lab to open, could see my driver's license and insurance information as they are required to be scanned from a platform clearly visible to others. So much for securing your private personal information. You are touching a touchpad surface that is not cleaned between users (hoping the last person using it washed their hands after using the bathroom) and no way to ask questions (like is this test covered by my insurance). Had a recent experience at another lab where the person checking in could not read at all and was just confused and another elderly person spoke and read Lithuanian so the English or Spanish check-in did not work for them and of course this site has no HUMAN at the desk. High Tech is fine for many, but many also want or need High Touch assistance.

Staff is friendly however there isn't anyone upfront to answer check in questions which makes it hard for seniors. They have a small computer screen to sign in on that can be complicated to use if your not fast enough or have questions.

I check in and I'm told: "We are now a walk-in facility." But, uh, I made an appointment on Friday. "Yes, but now we are walk-in facility." Right, and you couldn't have called to tell me that? Every person who came in after me went through the same experience. I opted to wait and was told it would be "45 minutes." 90 minutes later I gave up, asked for my ID and insurance card back and head home. No x-rays done and a completely wasted morning. What finally made me leave was finding out all the back office staff were now "in a meeting," so they weren't even doing x-rays. I'd been told I was "next in queue" thirty minutes before. But, now they were "meeting." By the time they were done "meeting," they would like all need to "go to lunch." It was never ending. Even if they'd done the x-rays, they couldn't have gotten them to my doctor. Their "portal" is not set up with doctor's offices. Their "sales rep" has to visit all of the doctors to set them up on the portal. They are no longer doing CDs. My appointment is tomorrow. So, this would have been imaging that ended up in the ether with no way to access it. Don't waste your time. Go someplace else. Apologies to South Valley Imaging for leaving this review here. If there was a Simon Med Gilroy page, I would have left it there. I will need to explain to my doctor tomorrow why I am arriving with no x-rays. But, I will also tell him to never send imaging requests over there. It would have been faster, and more productive, if I'd driven up to Morgan Hill, or another town with a functioning office and systems.
