I had another excellent experience at this location. My son made me an appt at another location for 0900 hrs. When they cldnt locate my appt here, they helped me transfer my script to this location instead of going to the other city. I was so stressed, but the ladies were very nice. Then Jess the phlebotomist was very kind too & drew my blood. Moreover, it didn't hurt at all I highly recommend this location for morning appts. If ur a senior citizen, they hv early appts form 0730-0830 hrs. Props to all the staff! read more

I have been coming here for YEARS as a "walk in". Today, I sign-in as a walk-in around 7:10 a.m. and was given what I thought was an estimated time of service of 8:40 a.m. It asked me if I am ok with this and I say, "Yes". It wasn't like I had a choice. The time comes and goes and I don't see my name anywhere on the board. At 9:05 a.m. I finally ask one of the staff about my missing name. She explained that I actually agreed to an "APPOINTMENT" at 8:40 a.m. and that I should have declined and then I could have continued as a walk-in. Since you didn't recheck in 10 minutes before your appointment you need to start over. WTF! Quest, you made the choice to go with a Self Check in process which obviously has some problems. You assume that because you are typically serving people in low-income areas that you can provide them with substandard service. You just wasted 2 HOURS of my time. I relied on their very useful tool online to make sure that wait time will be according to my schedule. On the website, the wait time showed "5 min wait" at this location. Therefore, I chose this location over a closer one, since the closer location showed 65 minutes. When I arrived to this location, I saw the filled lobby and wondered how it would only a 5 min wait with this many people. I checked in anyways. I arrived at 3:45 PM. My paperwork got collected at 3:55 PM. BUT i did not get called in up until about an hour later, 4:50 PM. The reason why the true wait time is not reflecting online is because, at this location, once you sign in, the front desk rep calls you up to turn in paperwork and insurance card. Once that's done, they send you back to your seat and tell you that you'll be called back. BUT the problem with this procedure is that they remove you off of the waitlist once paperwork is collected. Therefore, the people on queue are no longer showing on their waitlist, hence the shorter wait time shown. This is such a deceiving procedure. Staff at this location should keep this wait time system in mind. I will give this place an extra star for the very efficient phlebotomist that took care of me in literally 2 minute after my long anxious hour wait. FYI, I am 8 months pregnant. I was tired and sleepy sitting and waiting for an hour. Also, again, I did not plan on having to wait for that long, therefore I only had one bottle of water that I finished in the first few minutes. So, I was very dehydrated and thirsty during the rest of the wait time. read more

I made an appointment online and when I came in I only had to wait about 10 min. The girl that took my blood was very nice, quick, and especially painless. She's the first person to ever get blood from me the first prick, EVER!! She was Amazing and quick. God bless her!! PROS: - quick - appointments can be made online - wasn't painful - got luck with my nurse - easy check-in process on stationed iPads CONS: - front desk girl seemed irritated and not a single smile - wish waiting room was less ugly and uncomfortable looking - hallways and rooms looked old. I have nothing but the VERY BEST PRAISE to say for the professional staff @ this testing location on Downey Ave in Long Beach , Ca . I was in for a blood testing and some tests as well & it was quick and easy . The staff member that drew my blood named " Crystal " was awesome - I NEVER FELT THE NEEDLE ! Making an online appointment ahead of time is so convenient! No wait time. I've been to this location to bring my father a couple of times now and I have to say that they have an excellent work ethic, are extremely patient and kind to patients. Brought my father again today and the greeter/outside check in person Francis was awesome. Very kind and helpful to everyone there. All the staff was really professional and nice. Visit on 9/5/20 at 8am. My father said his phlebotomists was excellent as well, just didn't get her name. Kudos to all the hard working staff at this location!!! read more

I'll give this place 5 stars but the wait time and how quickly your processed is a little slow so I would highly recommend making an appointment. I had the pleasure of having Dorothy and since I'm a little nervous around needles, she said "You're in good hands like Allstate" hilarious!! I usuallly go to the quest in the city oF Downey but decided to come to this one today. My mom is scheduled for surgery and they wanteD labs ASAP and they sent the request to this location. As we arrive the lady at the front very rudly said if u didn't show up with paperwork we can't help you. That threw mee way off guard because usually our doctors send it to the location and I if they don't have it they will contact the doctor right away. Awful. There's no one at the reception area, they don't even acknowledge you. I took a break from work to do a drop off, the lady called out to whoever is here for a drop off, a guy ran to her and I ran after b. She picked his drop off but completely ignored mine. Wow.. Impressive. I walked into this stand-a-lone building in the parking lot of Bally's and signed in the clipboard. Time: 12:07pm. I sit down and see the large lobby already had 8 people ahead of me. I start to think that maybe I should leave, especially it being lunchtime. I mean, I'm not in a hurry to get my blood drawn today. Before I can even make up my mind, the receptionist calls me (& pronounces my last name correctly) for my paperwork & to copy my insurance. I see people being called in & another couple minutes, I get called into room 4. Each phlebotomist works in private rooms!! My blood gets drawn, no pain no bruising, and with a smile. She even compliments my boots, hehe. I'm out and in my car by 12:16pm. I've been to 3 other Quest diagnostic (near long beach memorial, in la, and in la Palma), sometimes with appointments. I don't do well with needles. Plain and simple. Anxiety attack to the extreme. So, when I failed my one hour glucose test and had to do the three hour test, I was filled with dread. The staff here is super nice and understanding and I didn't wait long at all, even when I had an appointment and they were super busy. After poke one, I was afraid I was going to panic myself into vomiting, but Katherine was AMAZING! After doing my second poke, she told me she would personally take care of me for the third poke. Believe the reviews! This place is really timely compared to literally every other Quest I've tried. I came on a Monday at 7am before they opened to walk in and was done by 7:45am, tops. I had an appointment at a different Quest for 8:30am but decided to come here. At 7am I was the 5th one in line but I guess the other people in line had more complicated orders than I did. I was taken either second or third to copy my insurance card and also 2nd or third to get my labs done. I had Carlos as my phlebotomist and he was great. Efficient and entirely painless for my draw of quite a few blood vials. The facility and restrooms were clean overall and there was a lot of parking. It shares an enormous lot with an LA Fitness and other shops. read more

This location normally opens at 730am but the waiting room was open and taking patient info by 7am. The waiting room is large and check in is nice and quick. It pays to have an appointment, especially since there are so many walk-ins. To make an appointment, you just do it online. Clean office, fast service, good experience. read more

They lost ALL my samples - this is unacceptable in my opinion. Now I have to spend 3 more days collecting my stool samples and get my blood drawn again :( I almost fainted getting my blood drawn. The lady just left me in a room and didn't know what to do. The staff here is not trained on proper medical protocol and clearly don't care about their customers. The front office workers were rude. They were talking about going out and drinking long island ice teas over the weekend. I'm all for having fun but their job is to take care of their customers - do your jobs people. Went to have lab work done around 11:00 and sat there and sat there it was packed with back to back patients. What makes this place so bad is that they went to lunch at 12:00 with out telling anyone. I had to go ask the one person there how much longer it was going to be and she replied that everyone had went to lunch and it would be a while before anyone would be called back there. I suggest not to go to this quest terrible Customer service I don't want to give them one star they don't deserve any at all. read more

Today was the first time I had lab work drawn by Quest Diagnostics. However, my husband had used a different location last year. He had a horrible experience and told our doctor never again. So when I had to use Quest Diagnostics I checked Yelp for the different ratings/reviews and chose the Downey Ave, Long Beach lab. First, Quest Diagnostics offers scheduling appointments online. It's a great feature that I used. While there were other people in the lobby waiting to be called, because I had an appointment my wait time was less than 5 minutes. The phelbotomist was friendly, but professional. Sometimes my veins are hard to find, but she had no problem. I was very pleased and would definitely use that lab again. read more

I don't really leave reviews but I'll leave one for my visit here! I went in for lab work and I seen Candy! She was very quick and polite as well. I was in and out with her in maybe 5 minutes flat. She made me feel comfortable during my visit and that's all I can ask for. The location didn't seem too crowded but I did have to wait in my car for about an hour after check-in, which they told me ahead of time so keep this is mind. Overall, good experience. read more

I had a question about my bill and so I called, getting a recorded voice saying "one moment please" followed after a time by "all representatives are assisting other customers (not patients)," then after another gap "thank you for continuing to hold" and then after another wait "someone will be right with you" -- all repeated over and over, until i was cut off. Over a period of several days and at differing times of day, I called back but the result was the same -- endless hold and then disconnected. Does Quest simply disconnect calls on hold after a time? It would seem so. So I wrote a letter outlining my question and requesting that someone call me. No one ever did but two weeks later i received a letter threatening "further collection efforts." I paid the bill, but never again will I go to Quest Diagnostics. read more

I just returned from my blood draw at Quest Diagnostics. It was a very good experience. I had made an appointment online - or I thought I had. When I checked in at the front desk, the receptionist was unable to find my appointment. She was able to find my doctors orders online quickly. But she still treated me as if I had appointment. I was grateful for that because the waiting room was full. The receptionist was abrupt but not rude. If I had to wait in a long line to check in I would have appreciated how quickly she worked. I used the bathroom, which was clean and had no off smells, then took my seat. I was ready for a wait but was seated only 8 minutes before I was called. The tech was excellent! Not only did I not feel the needle when she put it in, there was no pain or discomfort when she took off or added a new tube. From the time I walked in to the time I walked out to my car - 20 minutes! Great job Quest Diagnostics. read more

Had an appointment at 1:45. Arrived 30 minutes early. Crystal called me up to the desk promptly to take my paperwork. I barely had time to sit down when she called me in to do my labs for me. She was very gentle, professional and really pleasant. I had fasted since the afternoon before, so I was very hungry & starting to get a bit impatient. I've been to this lab twice. The first time without an appt and the 2nd time with an appt at 845am (and fasting.). They keep to their appts (which I was worried about because I was fasting). I was walking out the door by 9am and there was a lobby full of people. Even without an appt the wait was not long. The front desk is friendly. The phlebotomists are great (my mom comes to this location every 3 months and says they are very good at this location). I would recommend this Quest over the labcorp across the street for sure. read more

After I waited for over an hour I was told that their computers were down so they didn't have my order. Their system had been down for well over 30 minutes. They could have made an announcement that if your orders were electronic they would need your dr to fax them when they went down but instead they will tell you when it's your turn. I read the Reviews and many people say they take forever , but it's not true if you have an appointment it's super fast . So make sure to make an appointment before coming. Been here a couple times NOT by choice but nevertheless I had to be here it's like going to the DMV the people in the front desk are are extremely rude. This is lab so certainly there's a few elderly people and the staff doesn't seem patient or maybe they just don't like there job!
