I waited for hours at this Quest in McKinney, only for them to completely mess up my orders and then blame me for their mistake. An poorly trained staffer entered my information / started my order but was unqualified to finish it. Then, they couldn't resume it for whatever reason. The staff was rude, dismissive, and yelled at me saying they were "trying to help," but they absolutely were not. It was an incompetent and frustrating experience from start to finish. Great staff, especially Julie! Super gentle blood draw and great personality. So, this Quest is on the 3rd level of Medical City Mckinney, and the parking lots are always full. You usually have to park far. But, I don't mind parking and walking, as I get a lot of steps in (around 1k round trip). But, it may not be a good location for anyone who is in a rush or has mobility issues. You should always set up an appointment. And, always print and bring your paperwork because some medical facilities don't send their requests in or forget to click a few more buttons. I've learned the hard way to just bring the paper requests and not worry about whether the electronic is there or not. If you have issues walking long distances, you may want to have a loved one or a friend drop you off at the surgical entryway and take the elevator. And, always set up an appointment. Show up early or on time. If you're more than 10 minutes late, you will automatically get bumped, and you'll have the option to go into standby. Standby is a wildcard. You could be there for hours or a few minutes, depending on cancelations or no shows. So, unless you have oodles of free time, set up an appointment, show up on time, and you'll be in and out in less than 15 minutes, like me. Oh, and if you see Julie, ask her about her travels. My GI doctor ordered a stool sample analysis and gave me a list of Quest offices to drop it off. The closest was in McKinney so I called them to be sure they could take the sample when I brought it in. There is absolutely no option to speak to a person when you call, so I decided to just run it up there (25-minute drive) and "drop it off". When I arrived, I was told by someone holding the door open for the next patient that I needed to check in on the kiosk because, again, there is no window to just speak to an actual person and just drop off the sample. It was 10:30 am. So I checked in on the kiosk (not at all user friendly) and, when finally through with the process, had an appointment at 11:30--an hour wait to drop off a stool sample! I left and went back home, sample in hand. BTW, if you still want to go to Quest in McKinney, expect to park a long way from the building entrance. read more

Was here for lab work to be done, used them as a third party for Function health. Checked in and was given the option to wait outside and be texted when I needed to be in the waiting room, signed up for that as the waiting room was full. Appointment was 9:20 didn't get a text until 9:51. Went in the waiting room someone else was called and I noticed my name wasn't on there monitor any longer. I then asked the woman who was calling names why my name wasn't on there and after telling her my last name she very rudely responded we called your name twice now you're going to have to wait. I replied back I signed up for texts so I obviously wasn't in here and she scoffed and said ok I'll check on that. Three more people were called before they called me in, so almost an hour after my appointment, mind you I had to be fasting for this. The woman who was rude had to take my blood and was then quiet after that but I did notice that another woman spoke down to another family as that family was on a standby list and after waiting for a long time they were told they weren't getting an appointment at all but no one had told anyone on the standby list that they should come back another time as they were full and behind. Overall the experience was awful and the workers there are incredibly disrespectful to the people who are for a dozen different ailments or reasons that should make the workers there feel awful about speaking down to them, they need to learn how to talk to people kindly and with respect it's ridiculous read more

I saw a lot of shade in the reviews, but I've been here twice in the past year and it's been a decent experience both times. Today I had a 3:30 appt to give blood, arrived and checked in by 3:15(ish), and was back in my car by 3:28. I took off work early because I thought I'd be waiting for a while. Could've just been a slow part of the day, but it went really smooth. I think the phlebotomist that helped me was named Cammy(?), she was polite and straightforward. I didn't even feel the needle. Management : Please read this. I had an appointment today at The McKinney location/Med City McKinney and my Drs orders were sent to Quest days ago with confirmation of receipt. I arrived for my appointment and when I was taken back to the room, the tech advised me they didn't have my test available - they had been ordered but hadn't arrived. No apologies, no regard for my time lost. When I asked why I wasn't contacted I was told 'how would they know'. Hmmmm, 'how would they know'. There was no care nor respect in the way I was handled and it was simply a matter of cattle processing with barely an ounce of give-a-darn. How can a company as large as Quest not have the courtesy or technology to have this information so a client can be contacted and rescheduled. It's just a shame in today's brilliant world and unacceptable in my eyes. My time is important, too. You will not see my business again and I hope others read this post. And if you are going to put a touch screen check in kiosk in the lobby, for God's sake, have some sanitizing wipes or hand sanitizer. Soooo wrong in so many ways. It's obvious this is a bottom line company and they care only for that. There is no customer care (in fact, there is ZERO way you can contact a human on their phone numbers) so please consider using other labs that truly care about you and your well being. I recently had to bring my almost 3-year old son for a blood draw. Alicia was amazing with him! She talked to him the whole time, helped keep him calm, and was quick and efficient with the draw itself. Barely left a mark! I made the appointment online in advance, and followed the automated check in on my phone and at the kiosk when we arrived. We were seen as scheduled, only waited a couple minutes after checking in. I took my 8 year old daughter here for a blood panel. She was very nervous and scared. The lady was nice, but I wouldn't recommend taking children here. The blood drawn was very traumatizing. My daughter felt faint and was throwing up after. They didn't use a small needle and it was hanging to the side of her arm causing huge amount of pain. I had to re-do the blood panel because they didn't do it correctly. I ended up taking my daughter to LabCorp in McKinney and they were amazing with her. read more

I went to the location at 4510 Medical Centre Dr. I informed the person who attempted to draw my blood that I was afraid of needles and that if I grimaced while being poked that it was just a natural reaction as I was sensitive to dentist needles as well. This stemmed from a bad experienced in the past at a childhood doctor. I made a frown as Carrie Daniels took blood from my right arm. She suddenly stopped in the middle of the EXTRACTION OF BLOOD and said I cant do this while you frown! She then attempted to move to my left arm. I replied ma'am I told you before you started this has no reflection on you that i just hate being poked and that I frown. She yelled for another tech to take me. The other tech was a african american woman who did a fine job collecting my samples even as I explained my phobia to her. She stated" I don't look at faces only my incision point". However, if you feel and discomfort let me know. I found BIGFOOT before I found service from Carrie Daniels. She was horrible and very unprofessional. I advise anybody to avoid her at all cost! The heavy set lady that works in this office is the absolute meanest and rudest you could ever come across. I understand that they have a job to do but it's ridiculous how she speaks to customers. She is so rude and mean. I won't ever return to this location ever again. Don't go here if you have a choice. This is my second time here in a week because they didn't secure my first sample and it leaked during shipment and required me to retake the test. You check in on screen (its the only option). I set up the appt for a urine pre-employment drug screen. I arrived 10 minutes before my appt time which they suggested. All the screen asks you for is your phone number and to scan your driver license front and back and then ask if they're billing your insurance. I get called back at my time and then the tech realizes it's a urine test not a blood draw and says she can't do it and to go back out to the waiting room. They are now 15 minutes past my appointment time and I asked them how much longer because I have been holding it and they won't tell me. I scheduled an appointment today for blood work. When I arrived, they took me back and told me they did not have the requisition and gave me their fax # so my doctor could send it. I called the doctor's office and they gave me the requisition # of the original order but Quest said they could not locate the order using the requisition #. The doctor's office sent a new order which they show was accepted at 10:56 a.m. but Quest was unable to locate it. Long story short, I arrived at my appointment time and left an hour and 15 minutes later still not having my blood drawn. I realize there may have been a technical issue and that stuff happens. However, the phlebotomists were not helpful at all and one even snapped "and they know we can't look up by the requisition #" after my phlebotomist asked her a question. The customers at Quest are treated like cattle. WHEN I am certain that my order has been received by Quest, I'll drive farther to another location before I'd return to the one at McKinney Medical Center. read more

Don't seem to think much about their customers !!! Had an appointment today at 11:45. I called the quest main number to confirm they would be open because of the bad weather. I was told this location was open at 11:00 today. I drove an hour and went to their door and it was locked. Called the same number to ask why it was not open after I had been told it would be. I was then told it would not open today and I would need to reschedule. They could not give me an early time or a date until mid next week. Wow, went to quest, just before the waiting room filled with a few people, a lady not wearing a mask was escorted from the back. I noticed the technicians were wearing masks but no gloves when I was escorted back for lab work. After the technician took my insurance card and license with unprotected hands and returned it, I felt unsafe and uncomfortable. I asked for gloves. He said the gloves were only for staff when drawing blood. Then he pick up a cup with unprotected hands and told me to urinate in it. I was done. I left without lab work. We have been to this office twice in the last two days. Both times, they could not find our doctor's orders. Unfortunately, we had to wait until we were called back in order to find this out, since there is no one to speak to at a window. After the first failed attempt, my doctor gave me her confirmation code, the date it was submitted, and saw that the status was "received." However, Quest still could not find the order on day 2 (no option for a physical order, since our doctor was telehealth and not in the office this week). After my second attempt with no luck, my doctor called Quest through the provider line, who verified they saw not one but TWO orders - one from original submission and one that my provider put through after I had problems. He was "baffled" as to why the McKinney office wouldn't be able to pull it up. There are zero options to speak with someone through the telephone number. The website also mentions a chat feature, which can't be found anywhere. We will try a different Quest location tomorrow. read more

I even had enough time to snap a time stamped photo of them not open until 5:00PM as their hours next to the door stated. So don't bother rushing here. They are probably already closed and gone. If I could give zero stars, I would. The level of incompetence here is ridiculous. I dropped off a 24 hour urine sample and by the afternoon was told that my sample was lost! The lady helping my husband said that they would call him back to let him know if they found it or if I needed to recollect. Guess what? No call back!! Very disappointing experience at Quest McKinney. I had an appointment scheduled for 345 today to get blood work for my son. I've never been here before so I was relying on my GPS. After rushing to get there after my son got home from school, the place was very hard to find. I had to do multiple turnarounds. I tried calling to let them know I was running late and to see if they could help me with directions, but their phone rings and rings, the. puts you to a voicemail which is FULL, so I couldn't even leave a message. I finally arrived 15 minutes late and used the "check- in" link they had sent. I got a auto response saying I was checked in, but since I was late, they moved me to a "walk-in", which I was fine with. It said to wait in my car or come in and they would let me know when they were ready for us. We waited in the car. At 4:40, I said to my so , "I wonder why it's taking so long". We decided to go in. When we arrived to suite 310, the door was locked and sign said they were closed. REALLY? I drove all this way and you didn't have the courtesy to get me in or tell me anything? Very disappointing experience with Quest. Upon arriving 15 minutes early for my 4:00 appointment, I am informed that their check in system is down. They are now only accepting paper requests. Totally understandable. Luckily I grabbed my paperwork and had it ready to go. At 4:15 (15 minutes after my scheduled appointment and 30 minutes after I arrived), I was told to leave and that they were not going to complete my test. When asked why, I was told they close at 4:30. Again, understandable. However what is not understandable is that because of the office's tardiness, I had to sit and wait for an appointment that never happened.
