She was so incredibly sweet, and I never thought I'd say that I enjoyed getting my blood drawn until I spent the 10ish minutes I was there, with her! She is amazing with patient care, and you can tell she genuinely loves what she does and wants to help people, even in an environment that can be scary and uncomfortable for some. I had a very disappointing experience at Quest Diagnostics due to the way I was treated by the phlebotomist (Andrea on the name tag) during my visit. The interaction felt dismissive, unprofessional,, and lacking basic compassion. I told her where they usually get my blood, trying to help she stormed out without any explanation and got someone else. Later came in the room and didn't make eye contact. communication. I hope management takes concerns like this seriously and provides better customer service training moving forward. read more

I ended up here because the other location was booked solid. I walked right in. I was seen immediately. The lab tech asked me how my morning went. Verified the doctor and the patient info stuff. Completed my blood work and I was out the door in 15 minutes or less. I will definitely come back to this location in the future. read more

This is one of the better locations I've been too. Super quick process and clean facility. Today was the first time I've been back in about 2-3 years, they've renovated and updated the check in process to be efficient and fast, all done on a tablet. Melvin was my technician/phlebotomist for my appointment today and he was great! If I had the option to be seen by him every time I would opt in for that. I have small veins so people typically use my hand rather than arm, he ensured me he would find the best location and wouldn't poke me more than once. Safe to say he stuck to his word! I also get a little anxiety when it comes to needles sometimes just because of the anticipation, but Melvin made me very comfortable with his humor and reassurance. Walked in at 9:30am, checked in and knew we'd be waiting awhile. After 2 hours I asked about walk ins and are you taking walk ins.. answer Yes. Sat back down for another hour, talked again to someone told them we have been here 3 hours, are you taking walk ins? He said I'll get right with you. Another 45 mins we just left. Just tell people NO WALK INS WE ARE RUNNING BEHIND! That's all they needed to do. When you check in, there isn't a person anywhere! Just a wall with a door and nobody comes out with information. Awful terrible service. I went to Walgreens, 15 minutes and I was done. Yes they had people waiting before us like maybe 6 people. Got us in and out with no problem. Inexcusable service and lack of communication. Scheduled an appointment two weeks out for an earlier time to avoid missing too much work. Received several email confirmations. Arrived to the lab this morning only to find sign on door that the location was closed; use the Cobblestone location. Drove back to that one and unable to use the appointment. Insufficient time to wait as a walk-in and return to work on time. Double-checked email and NO notification of closing. I did go to the website and see a notice that the location closed yesterday, but who goes to the website to check when confirmation emails were received!? How hard would it have been to send out emails to everyone who took the time to make an appointment? Now I have to replan and miss more work at another time. Unacceptable. read more

I've gotten blood work done at this location for years. Service is always super fast when I make an appointment. It is very easy to make an appointment online or through the app. Service is even faster when I upload my insurance information ahead of time. I never have issues with wait times when I make an appointment. Very efficient and easy. read more

Quest Diagnostics is a complete nightmare. You have to sign in via tablet with no person up front to help anyone. The only time you can see someone is when they call whoever's appointment is up next. If they can get to you after everyone else is out of the way, they'll get to you. You're just left waiting in the lobby on a stand-by list, watching on screen. There's no receptionist or anything to help blind people or sick people. It's a complete mess and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. read more

I had called the 888 number and it gave me an appointment for 12.00am. Went 90 minutes early and checked in. There are no receptionist so I told one of the workers I'm here and would like to be seen earlier if there are openings. I was shocked that they took countless walk-ins with No Appointment and ignore me because I had an appointment. It seems walk in get priority than early appointments. It's like they purposely go slow so they can avoid work. And closing at 3pm? Are you kidding? And trying to make an appointment is just ridiculous and hard to do it the first place unless you want to call and try to get the robot to understand you. Go to Flagler lab. It is sad how uncaring the person taking care of patients was this morning. Also it is sad that you sit there for 2 hours only to be turned away. No appointments available for the next 12 days so we had no choice but to be a walk-in. When you check in at the kiosk it should be able to let you know if you'll be seen that day based on the number of appointments scheduled. After sitting for 2 hours the employee came out and said, "if you don't have an appointment, we won't be able to see you today because we close in 45 minutes. Please come back Monday, we open at 6am." How are we supposed to know if we will sit there all day on Monday only to be turned away again. Seriously, there is no one at the test center to even ask. There needs to be someone for walkins. We arrived before 6 am due to a fasting blood draw. The staff refused to take any walkins saying appointments have priority. Had not had a blood draw in quite a bit so did not know they had changed to this type system. You can not always preplan weeks ahead for a blood draw. This is place is the absolute worst. Customer service is crap and they are more concerned about when their lunch break is than helping a patient. I had my orders ready to go but instead of reading them they handed them back to me and shoved me out the door in a span of 5 minutes. My mother had lab work that she had to get done ASAP. We went on the website to see if there's any availability in either of the two centers in town. Neither one had availability for the next month so we called my mother's physicians office and both of them told her to walk in by Friday because she really need lab work done prior to coming her appointment the following week. My mother walked in around 7 AM on Friday. She understood they would be a wait because she didn't have an appointment. About two hours, she was called to the back by Teresa come to find out she's also the center manager. She was very nasty with my mother and told her the next time that she has two requisition she needs to make an appointment because they have to input these lab requisitions into the computer by hand. She was scolding my mother like she was a child mind you, my mother is in her 70s. My mother was really nice with her and told her that we tried to go online and schedule an appointment and they have no availability and either of us facilities close to her there are only two in town. She was very nasty with my mother if it wasn't for the fact that she really needed this lab work done she would've left. I called corporate and filed a complaint. Summary: The woman phlebotomist with long, wavy, naturally red hair is VERY GOOD at her job--skilled with a needle & great with anxious patients. If you're near St. Augustine and have to give Quest some blood, come to CBL Drive Quest & ask if this phlebotomist is working. (I wish I remembered her name!) Long form: Ok, so venipuncture is my one & only Incapacitating Phobia. I never want to get my blood drawn, ever. That said: I no longer live a life where I can just avoid blood draws for, say, 16 years at a time (*ahem*), so I've developed a personal protocol for getting through phlebotomy. A big part of my protocol is getting to know my phlebotomist ahead of time, so you can imagine how excited I was when suddenly I had to get blood drawn at some random Quest station in a town three plane-hours from where I live. (SPOILER: NOT AT ALL EXCITED.) But hey, guess what? The woman who drew my blood at CBL Drive Quest actually did a great job, both with my arm and with me as a person. Whew. So, okay. I booked the only available next-day appointment, then turned up 2 hours early at the time I'd actually wanted. I signed in at a kiosk with a printed QR code and waited no longer than 10 or 15 min. There were also real people at the front desk who were able to enter my insurance info. The phlebotomist who came to get me was a woman with long, wavy, naturally red hair (whose name I regrettably don't remember). I explained that, because I have a difficult time with phlebotomy, I had prepared one arm with Emla cream & would be disappearing into my headphones for the duration of the procedure. Her response was PERFECT--casual but respectful, unruffled, like that was totally normal & fine and she sees that stuff all day. I told her that I need a butterfly needle, & her response was simply, "Sure!"; then I looked over & saw that she'd already selected one for me. So far, so good. When it came to the actual draw, the phlebotomist was great. She was swift & gentle with the needle, & already knew how to communicate instructions through touch. (In other words: I was not her first headphones-&-closed-eyes patient!) The whole thing was quick and almost as painless as phlebotomy can be, and the next day I had only a lentil-sized little bruise. Not bad at all. Tl;dr: Thanks, Awesome Ginger Phlebotomist. I was freaked out about having to let a stranger stick me, and you sent me back to my trip with no new phlebotomy trauma. A+. read more

I have had two horrible experiences with staff at this Quest location. Absolutely rude staff members on both occasions. Most recently I waited with my son for almost two hours and when I inquired about the wait, this staff member in maroon scrubs didn't even turn around to get any eye contact with me. She told me it could be a 4 hour wait and showed no level of caring at all. Thirty plus people had come and gone as we were still waiting. I finally gave up and left. I work in healthcare and this level of attitude would not be tolerated at my job without consequences. I understand being under staffed and long wait times, but the rude attitude is unacceptable. I will never return to this location!! It would be nice if Quest actually provided a phone number to talk to a human to complain, but I guess they don't care about their patients. read more

I made an appt for 1:20 on Aug 23. I had been fasting for the labs since before midnight. I arrived at approx 1:15 went in & scanned by driver's license, insurance card & a QR code that quest sent me. I forgot my Drs lab orders thinking that he had also sent them electronically. I also had my wife text me a copy of the lab orders. I was called back to room 1 & the tech tried to lookup the lab orders but we're not submitted electronically. She wouldn't even look at my phone to see the lab orders but seemed happy to kick me out of her office like she would have another 10 minutes for a break. I came back 5 minutes later with the paper lab orders & had to register as a walk in. The kiosk said there were no more appts that day. I called & filed a complaint with Quest. They told me that they had to submit lab orders with the lab work as otherwise it could be fraudulent. What? After I scanned my driver's license, insurance card, & a QR code that Quest sent me. Why would anyone commit fraud for blood tests related to high cholesterol & liver function?? I promptly looked up other options for lab tests. To my surprise there were many other choices nearby. Beware of going here! These people have no idea what they are doing. I had an appointment to have some routine blood work done and this was by far the worst experience. The lady that called me back had an attitude from the start. She couldn't figure out the doctors orders on my paperwork, so she was annoyed about that. When it came time for her to do the blood draw, she kept saying how "bright red" my blood was and that it's a sign of blood disease or anemia. Once she took the needle out, my arm blew up the size of a softball and it was incredibly painful. When I brought this to their attention, another nurse just told me that sometimes that part of the arm is sensitive and to put ice on it. Come to find out, the lady BLEW MY ARTERY. The blood was so bright because it was from an artery, not a vein. You would think that someone in this profession would know that. So, now it's been 5 days.... My arm is still swollen and terribly bruised... all for routine bloodwork that I get to pay for! read more

My doctor thought I could walk-in to Quest anytime. When I arrived, there is nobody to check you in, it's done thru a kiosk. It told me there were no appts available but I could wait and they could try to fit me in. Since I had fasted and driven a long way, I decided I could wait. There were four patients already there. I figured it takes a few minutes per patient even if they have only one technician. Two hours later, with nobody giving us updates, we just sat there dumbly watching people through the glass door, I heard a boy say to an elderly man he was with, and who had been there ahead of me say, "It's been three hours and we're still waiting..." So I left. Wasted morning. Nobody bothers to speak to or update anybody waiting. Maybe they are short-staffed but there were several people back there and I couldn't figure out why they take a few minutes to do a blood test and clear out the waiting room. Maybe the same workers are somehow processing all the lab specimens? And they don't have anybody to collect blood? Seems to make no sense. In just a few minutes a technician could have cleared the waiting room by collecting specimens. But the worst part was a few days later, I got an email telling me my test results were in. I was curious since I'd had no tests. It turns out another person's test results were in my account, all her blood work, name, personal info, etc. I tried to alert Quest online but they make it pretty impossible. When you try to email or chat they require a lab test number, which I didn't have. I was also wanting to make sure my insurance wasn't charged for the other person's test. I won't be back. read more

Run Away! To put it bluntly, they Suck! The med tech (older Hispanic female) doesn't know her Left from her Right! Literally! I tell her that for 25yrs in the military they always had good luck drawing blood from my left arm, so this tech goes directly to my right arm and works to find a good blood source - No Luck! So she goes to my left arm and Bam - Success! As she's bandaging me up, she tells me I should not offer up the arm that is difficult. I tell her that I told her from the get go my left arm is the best to draw blood and that when I say my left, it's her right as she's facing me. That pissed her off and she catches major attitude! Later in the day I take bandages off both arms and have bruises that I've never experienced before! This is my second trip to Quest and will be the last, and again - They Suck!
