I'm not really sure why there's so many negative reviews. I'm here every month for blood tests for almost 2 years. I've NEVER had any issues. Ever since the height of covid many labs are appointment only. It's been such a nice change! No wait times!! I've never had to wait for my appointment. I think a lot of people try to walk in and it causes negative feelings because they get turned away. But of course they are! It's appointment only. Please book in advance to avoid disappointment. It's a really simple process on their website. The staffing at this location are so kind. They always treat me with dignity. I'm a very difficult stick and only Karina can get me with one poke. The nurses at Little Company of Mary always leave me bruised up! I live pretty far from this location but I make the drive all the way here just bc I love the staff. Check this location out! Unprofessional and very rude. I see so many reviews pointing this out and their response always promises to improve but I guess they just don't care. I took my 81 year old dad to get blood drawn and it's supposed to be a special kind where they have to send in the same day for lab test. They did not follow instruction and now the blood is useless. They requested for another draw. Rosmary called me, apologized and told me to show up at 3:45pm and she will train everyone. We show up at 3:35pm and this very rude lady Carina/Karina tells me that she can't find our name nor did she receive instruction. I told her that I was told to show up for 3:45 appointment and she tells me that their last appointment ends at 3:40pm like I'm lying. We leave and get a phone call back 10 minutes later asking us to comeback. We go back and I hear people chatting and laughing so i knock on the counter. No answer. I wait for another minute and knock again. I hear Carina yelling something like "just a minute, I have a needle in the patient's arm..." All I hear inside is her chatting and laughing away... So Carina finally comes out and says she is sorry and although she did not get the memo, someone else did get it. Well Carina, all you had to do was ask others if they got the memo when we visited the first time! Hopefully they don't screw the second blood sample again! Got a bruise after drawing the blood and it hurt for a couple of days. I did tell them about this on the survey they sent you and also email them pictures, but no reply after about a week now. Avoid this location and go to the one on Madison Street instead. For Quest's reply below: I did email the address in your reply a week ago, but no reply. Same info was put in the customer satisfaction survey that you sent out via email. Anyway, after messaging then via Yelp, a nice lady called me back see how I am doing and explained the reason of the bruise. She also said that she would arrange for additional training for the Technicians to have patients to put pressure on the needle entry point a little longer before applying the tape to cover it. read more

Don't come to this quest location if you have a toddler who is a hard stick!!!! I took my two year old niece here and we waited for 1 hour without an appointment. When it was our turn, two inexperienced phlebotomists were working on her and they both could not get her blood! We held her down so they could both take turns sticking the poor kid twice and dug around each time but were still unsuccessful!! It was a traumatic experience to say the least. They told us to bring her back another day so they could have another go when she was less exhausted. I said absolutely not! Luckily, we found a great phlebotomist at the other quest location around the corner on Madison who has plenty of years working with kids. When I took her there, they were able to get her veins on the first try with minimal digging. I would not recommend taking a risk in bringing your kid here for their first blood draw! Plus, the wait can be awful without an appointment and the waiting room is small. read more

Worse blood draw i have ever experienced. Walk in appointment, arrived at noon, 30 min before their lunch break. Was assigned to Leslie Gomez, a young Hispanic woman who obviously is extremely new at drawing blood and has no idea what she is doing. As I walked out, felt the hematoma developing. Went back in, despite them being closed for lunch, yelled at the window until someone came out. Was given a heat pack and another bandage. Almost a week later and my arm is severely bruised, sore and discolored. I've called an filed a complaint with Quest Diagnostics corporate office. I have large veins which are easy to find. I would be cautious about going here for a blood draw. They need to properly train their staff before they seriously injured someone! read more

It was very inconvenient and I couldn't imagine how difficult or frustrating it would be if I was elderly or disabled. Wow. Walked in. The office space is wide open and the waiting room is small. The only way to sign in is a tablet kiosk. The elderly people had NO idea what to do, with NO ONE there to assist. First of all, I waited at the window for 15 minutes while listening to the staff talk, joke and laugh in the back. I've been here before a few years ago and remembered it was a madhouse cause it was small and crowded. I usually go to CLA for this one doctor I go to but when I went there was a sign that they were closed as of 10/30/17 and to come here for labs. Well this place was packed like sardines they remodeled it and also have the automated sign in process. The waiting area was packed about 20 or so people all sitting in chairs a few people standing where ever there was a spot. Wait time when I got there said 27 mins which was about a hour. I guess there really is no easier process for these places cause it's first come first serve or unless you have an appointment. The only good thing about this location is you don't have to pay for parking if you go over the hour. So it's a no win at either of the locations cause more and more people are going to Quest for Labs. read more

I've been here several times and the receptionist is unfriendly, rude and impatient. She is annoyed by simple questions regarding insurance payments , what cards she needs to see to fully check you in, etc. I saw her also be rude and unhelpful to several people while I was in the waiting room. She needs to get a different job If she is so unhappy. I'm currently unemployed due to COVID and would gladly be working right now! FYI, Bring gloves when you come to this location because they surprisingly use a touch- screen iPad to check in everyone- despite the current COVID 19 pandemic. In this place, you are nothing more than a transaction. As in, the workers here don't necessarily look at their customers as human beings; they're just there to get you through the process as fast as possible so they can end the day and go home. If you're looking for friendly service and amiable atmosphere, look elsewhere. The online appointment system is fairly mediocre but there are walk-ins available. Their walk in system is also not accurate too. The iPAD said there was a 0 minute wait which is definitely wrong. My wife Laura's doctor requested a singular urine test which she hand delivered to this Quest Lab at 3400 Lomita. As they won't do ANY test without FULL prepayment for a cash patient, she was told $47.59 which she paid via credit card in advance. There is a large sign on the wall which reads: "No tests will be conducted without your doctor's authorization." Despite neither of us having authorized any further payment, we received a SURPRISE BILLING (illegal in California) for additional tests in the amount of $125.99. Despite the fact that QUEST , since OCTOBER 19, 2020(!) is unable to produce this MULTIPLE TIMES requested proof of a Requisition required ( by THEM via giant wall signage )doctor's authorization/ Lab request. when my wife called immediately after receiving the Surprise billing-she was told that in California they can conduct whatever additional tests they , deem necessary. Presumably potentially incurring THOUSANDS of Dollars in medical debts on our behalf TOTALLY without our authorization or knowledge. That alleged authority does NOT exist in California. On principal we refused, so QUEST, first blackmailed us with threats of ruining her credit and then in fact, for that $125.99, RUINED my wife's credit given that I pay all the household bills and retain a FICO score North of 800, but given her skimpy credit record, she found out when applying for aCostco credit card (NO required notification regarding the $125.99 from EXPERIAN as required by obviously ineffective law) that this unauthorized charge had totally ruined her credit. Since OCTOBER 2020, we have been living this nightmare and enduring its stresses and waste of our time in complete frustration with everybody passing the buck and after all sorts of communication attempts continuing to be simply IGNORED by QUEST. I tried making an appointment recently and tried going to it today. I had been to this place once before and had no problem. But now they don't have anyone at the counter and you have to check in to a dumb machine. So since I was THREE MINUTES LATE, it said it couldn't find my appointment. I would of tried getting help but I was afraid (since it was fasting and I get hypoglycemic and angry) of raising my voice and scaring the other people there. So I just left and got something to eat to calm me down and now I'm going to try again. But I am really not impressed with this new setup. The staff here are excellent. I know them too well. The kiosk check-in system can be a little time consuming and confusing so it's best to buffer a little time for this when you visit. It's best to schedule an appt in advance online and not try to walk in, although they do take walk-ins. The busiest time is always before lunch so if you can it is best to schedule your visit for after lunch like 2p and on. The staff does their best to address the mass amounts of walk-ins alongside the stacked schedule. I never feel the needle at this location. I forget the main lady's name but she is always so sweet as are the other staff members that work there. My only complaint is that they deadname me . I laugh it off and I don't correct them either. It doesn't really bother me as I know it's not intentional. My deadname is in their system and I'm not sure how to change it at this point. Anyhow, schedule online, show up 10-15 early, use kiosk check-in, try to go after 2p, be nice to the staff they do their best! read more

Took my infant son to have a blood panel done. They popped both of the veins in his arms. Not enough blood was collected to complete the panel. Just pain and tears. Poor kid was traumatized. These techs have no "touch" to their technique of drawing blood. They should really have better training or competency. Will not return and the reviews speak for themselves! read more

You could tell that he didn't know how to use the kiosk and the front desk staff didn't bother helping him. Don't even try without a reservation. If you need labs immediately your doctor must write STAT on the orders. Otherwise you probably won't be seen as a "walk-in." The nurses were nice, but I felt bad for them. The reservation system frustrated many in the waiting room and they took it out on the nurses. read more

Worst staff and service. The system too maybe but I think the staff just straight up lied to my face about it or SHE'S JUST COMPLETELY INCOMPETENT. I had a 12PM appt but my prior dr appts finished way ahead of time so I ended up coming in at 9am. I put my name in and I was in the system under my appt at 12. There were 3 people in the standby/walk in, so I figured I should be ok as a walk in. Waited almost an hr and 3 more people came in as a walk-in. After 5 out of 6 walk ins were called, I decided to inquire. The lady was either KARINA C or JAN F, if she did in fact gave me their correct names. She was short, chunky, and had tattoos on her arms. Without even telling my name, she already knew I was the person with the appt. She saw me a bunch of times throughout my wait and she didnt even think to tell me anything about my appt or inform me about it. At that point i didnt mind it as much, so i told her i've been waiting and was wondering i can be seen if i put my name as a walk in, and she said no cause i already have an appt. So i thought ok, they can call me still ahead of time since my name is there already. She asked me to wait outside the room instead and theyll contact me when its my turn cause there will be a lot of people in the waiting area. So i went out for a few minutes but noticed the last person waiting there had left the room. I went back in and no one was there, even the screen that says how many theyre serving at that moment says Zero and there are no more people in the standby list.. so i decided to go inside and wait. I stood there for 20-30 mins and she again noticed me waiting and didnt even bother to come out to ask or explain anything. At this point i have waited almost 2 hrs, almost 11 oclock, and NO ONE was being served or waiting. Only me in the room for 20 mins alone until other people started walking in again. So i used the kiosk to get assistance and she came out with an attitude asking who was number 104 and asking for help. i asked her if I can be seen ahead of my appt... and she then told me that they cant. It has to be exactly on my appt time. At that point I wasn't having it anymore since she could have said that when I spoke with her prior OR even before then when she already knew i was the person with the appt and has been in the waiting area. I wasted all those hours for her to tell me that she supposedly cant bypass the system and it wont let her click my name until 10 mins after my appt? Wtf is that BS? The people that walked in and didnt have an appt didnt have an issue. Instead of providing alternatives and solution she literally had me wait 2 hrs for nothing and ignored me, at that point i wouldnt even trust her or the other person with my blood draw and tests at that location. Extremely poor service and attitude. REPLACE those staff as clearly by other reviews they are the worst. I waited an hour and a half with my boyfriend, and after an hour and I half, the line barely moved! My doctor ordered fasting labs, so after not eating after midnight, waiting in line, listening to screaming kids, listening to loud dramatic sighing, we walked out. I made an appointment online for the following Saturday, and I only had to wait 10 minutes ;) The phlebotomist found a vein, she was gentle, and she made me feel relaxed. Extremely poorly run office!! They do not care about patient care at all!! The staff is extremely rude and they do absolutely nothing to accommodate patients. I am in healthcare, and would never treat patients this way! This place is extremely slow and has very few staff working, so they cannot take very many patients. That does not prevent them though, from allowing you to check in, and wait standby for as long as you can tolerate.. they will never see you. They do no see walk in patients here, despite what is advertised. Go to Labcorp if you have a choice, and if you don't, at least don't go to this location--unless you want to waste your day away.. read more

It's actually pretty amazing how disorganized and poorly run this place is. It's the equivalent of having a bunch of baboons running the space program. We booked 2 weeks in advance and when we got there they didn't have any of our appointment information saved. Not to mention the staff did not want to help at all and just told us we'd have to wait like a walk in despite the appointment. That wouldn't be a big deal, but the whole reason I made the appointment was to not wait the whole day. So my two week appointment was for nothing basically. While I won't say the staff are rude I think they are a bit petty and don't really care to help out. If you are looking for a blood test I'm sure there are many places much better suited in a 10 mile radius alone. On a side note they have a face mask requirement WHICH IS FINE! all medical facilities do and I'm not against mask mandates, but in their bathroom they didn't even have soap. No issue with making an appointment on line and you get multiple email reminders. No issue with checking-in and the staff at this center. Big issue after the blood was drawn. It first hurt around the area where the needle entered and after I did not feel the pain anymore, a big bruise developed. I have never had this happen to me over the past 20 years from drawing blood. I have reported this via the survey they emailed you (4 working days ago) and also email them directly with Client Relation (3 working days ago) and they never did contact me with my concern. read more
