Our Doctor…read morerecommended this office after the lab corp in San Pedro didn't feel confident in drawing our 6 month olds lab. I get it, babies are tough patients. And we appreciated their honesty but the way the pedro office handled my baby and her little arms just rubbed my husband and I the wrong way, they were so rough, seemed annoyed and almost in a hurry to get us out, so we are glad they didn't attempt to do the draw. So we scheduled here. We got seen almost immediately with an appointment, the two ladies were so very gentle and patient with our baby gave her a warm compact to help find a vein, and even showed my husband how to hold her during the process ( both of these things the other office didn't even bother to do) It was very difficult for us as first time parents to see our baby go through a process like this but the ladies were so kind and were able to get her lab done on the first try. So thank you to both these caring ladies for being so gentle and caring with our little girl.

I had an appointment and no one told me that I had to pull out a QR code if I had an appointment only until after I waited 40 mins just to get a routine blood draw. They need to have a better system in place. There was a lady that told me I was on the list for the appointment--NO MENTION AT ALL about a QR code. When I approached the front desk lady after I had waited, she then told me about the QR code. All the meanwhile they have a stapled list of names of people with appointments. Ridiculous. They really need to give better instructions to their patients.

The first 30 minutes = $2.00 and each additional 30 minutes thereafter = $1.00. Daily maximum = $10.00. Don't forget to stamp the ticket at the Quest office counter before leaving. Otherwise, there should be plenty of free street parking if you come early enough and don't want to worry about parking validation. [Process]: There were no receptionists at the counter at 8 AM. Visitors can use the kiosk to check in or use the online check-in link provided in the email. I clicked the online check-in link and it took less than a minute to complete the process. I arrived at 8 AM and was done in less than 10 minutes after checking in. To my surprise, I didn't have to make a fist and the phlebotomist was still able to complete the blood draw within minutes. The waiting room also has a screen showing the number of customers currently being served and the number of customers with scheduled appointments within the next 60 minutes. [Lab order]: I forgot to bring a physical printout, but the phlebotomist was able to locate a digital copy by searching my name and birthday. Otherwise, customers can email a copy to PSCCWK@Questdiagnostics.com. [Conclusion]: A fairly efficient process when everything aligns from having an appointment scheduled to having the lab order ready.

About the only thing I don't like about this medical center is that you have to take a ticket when entering the parking lot and need to remember to stamp your ticket before leaving the office in order to avoid paying for parking. This is the only medical center in the area that tries to charge people for parking. Not the fault of Quest though.

I came here for a routine lab tests. [Parking]: Easy and free designated parking garage. No issue finding a parking at 8:45 AM on a weekday. The office is located on the 3rd floor. [Check-in]: I booked an appointment ahead of time. I initially tried to check in via one of kiosks (have driver's licenses or government issued ID ready), but I noticed somehow my check-in was a walk-in visit (visitors can see the status on the overhead TV screen). So I checked in again using the link given on my text message instead (Labcorp will send the link 24 hours in advance) and this time it worked wonderfully. Checking in using kiosks can be a big risk as the visit could turned an on-time appointment into a nightmare walk-in situation (could be waiting for hours) - so use the link given via the text message! [Note]: Friendly phlebotomist and staff at the front counter. Phlebotomist recommended drinking a gallon of water before the blood drawing - two glasses of water before sleeping and two glasses of water after waking up (drinking water helps phlebotomist having an easier to find veins). [Conclusion]: I was able to complete the whole process in 25 minutes. Expect a solid 4-star experience if everything is executed correctly from scheduling an advanced appointment, checking in via the link on the text message, and arriving on-time.

Phlebotomist did not introduce himself, confirm my DOB, explain what would happen, how long it would take, or confirm all the labs he was drawing. He did swab my arm with an alcohol swab, but inserted the needle immediately after, causing a more intense stinging sensation. Additionally--He did not let me know when he would be inserting the needle/explain what he was doing. Inserting the needle immediately after sanitizing scared me, so I jumped, and he scolded me for moving. Horrible, not in alignment with UCLAs CICARE standards.

That being said it is quite a drive for us so this location is more convenient. unfortunately, there's usually a long wait but thankfully, you can check in over the phone before you arrive. When I visited this morning, there was about an hour and 20 minute wait but got through in about 45 minutes. once I sat down for my draw I informed the technician that I did get anxiety and sometimes dizzy, when my blood is drawn. So I used my phone to distract me and she was quick as a gunslinger. I was done in no time with not a bit of anxiety, and when I got home and removed my bandages, I had no bruising. These people are our ninjas. Thanks again for the awesome service and experience.

This review is specifically about the front desk, and I hope this helps other women so they don't go through what I did. I am under 40 with a documented benign breast lump, prior biopsy, and a family history of breast cancer. I had a scheduled diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound appointment. Because screening mammograms are not covered by my insurance at my age, I coordinated carefully with my doctor and United Healthcare to ensure everything was coded correctly as diagnostic. My doctor even submitted the orders in December, months ahead of my April appointment, because on previous visits my orders had repeatedly "failed to arrive" despite always being sent. None of it mattered. I showed up and was told there was no order on file and that I could only get a screening. When I tried to explain the insurance distinction, the front desk staff became combative and dismissive, made me feel stupid for asking, and told me 'We probably can't do anything for you.' I left in tears. I'll be the first to admit I am not an expert in medical coding or insurance, and a calm explanation of the process would have gone a long way. Instead, I was met with impatience and dismissal. I can't believe that someone would treat a patient clearly in distress like that. I always try to live by "be kinder than necessary, everyone is fighting some sort of battle." You would think that folks that work at a Breast Diagnostic center would be kind. Missing orders has been a pattern. Every visit I have been made to chase down orders my doctor already sent, despite my physician being in the same Torrance Memorial network as Polak. If you are under 40 and need diagnostic imaging coded correctly for insurance purposes, prepare to advocate loudly and call ahead to confirm your order was received. You should not have to, but based on my experience, you will. I have submitted a patient feedback form and I truly hope it gets taken into account so no one else is treated like I was today.
