The lady that was training him, was not. I wish I had asked for her name. So, I'll do my best to describe her. African American, around 40's. With a very bad attitude. I sat down as she berated all the people waiting in lobby. She snatched all lab orders and spat out orders to quiet, calm, clients. A lady went up to the window for assistance. She didn't get a word out of her mouth before this lady told her to sit back down and wait until the others before her were taken care of. And, that she learn how to make an appointment. This employee continued to be short with Alexander while she "trained" him at the front desk. While I was grateful for Alexander and the other kind technician lady. This one employee made my visit very uncomfortable and unsatisfactory. I hope someone in corporate goes through these review and is able to address this toxic employee.

The young man at the front desk in a black shirt seemed to have multiple difficulties, processing orders, managing the office and getting information into the computer. At times he seemed frustrated, confused and incompetent. He also had difficulty matching up names with the paperwork. He seemed like a nice man who was just " in over his head" and needed much more training. I was there for 2 hours and 45 minutes, with an appointment, waiting for a blood draw. When the young man came in to do the blood draw, he first put on gloves as expected. I informed him of where the best and most generous vein is located on me. He chose a different location with a smaller vein. Before he inserted the needle, I let him know that vein usually blows before they can get adequate needed blood samples. Obviously, I have medical issues and this is not my first go round. He swabbed the area with alcohol, inserted the needle in the smaller vein and then painfully dug in several different directions attempting to get into the vein properly.. He then withdrew the needle completely and re-inserted it three times along the same vain line, some of which were outside of the area that had been cleaned with alcohol. At this point, we were still unsuccessful in getting blood. He then left the room for more supplies and I observed him grabbing door handles, touching cabinet surfaces. And rifling through shelves while still wearing the gloves he put on to protect me from contaminants. He returned not changing gloves. He alcohol cleaned a different site (wrist). When I pointed out the best place to draw blood, again, because it is a large vain, easy to feel and is normally used for medical procedures, including donating blood. He continued as if I had said nothing. The attempt for getting blood from the wrist/hand was a repeat of multiple sticks and uncomfortable digging. At one point, he even removed one of the collection tubes from the collection line and tried to reuse the same one at the second site. I'm not a lab tech, but it seems to me that those vials are vacuum sealed, and once they punctured for collection then withdrawn from the line and set aside the seal has been compromised. However I am not a phlebotomist. The blood draw was again Unsuccessful. I was relieved when he decided to call someone else for help. The phlebotomist/site manager appeared, looking very professional in a white lab coat. He greeted me friendly and asked if I had a preferred location for The blood draw. Of course I did. I pointed it out. He gloved up while we chatted in a friendly manner and about the order which was to be filled. After cleansing the site and getting new supplies. He easily filled five tubes with blood after one easy insertion of a needle. Finally, I felt cared for by a professional. And a successful job was well done. Unfortunately, these seem to be the only two people in the office. Therefore it's not possible for this one professionally dressed gentlemen to service all the customers that were there. I highly recommend using a different location. Although seemingly cordial and well intended, much training is needed so the office runs smoothly, efficiently, and most of all with proper safety techniques. Your health may be at risk at this location in my opinion. I intend to notify the corporate office that an inspection and training needs to occur immediately. For the safety of all persons receiving services there.

Interesting hospital. I was there in August and again in November for surgeries. In August I had a…read morevery early arrival time and overall a very pleasant experience. Everything went smoothly from check in, pre op, surgery and post op. I spent the night and received excellent care from a very well staffed and professional nursing team. I provided a very positive review on their web site. My second visit was scheduled late morning at 10:30 arrival. I will never accept a late morning surgery appointment again. First every parking spot was full. A five level garage provided not one open space. Eventually I found a car leaving in front of the women's care entrance. This was at the other end of the hospital from where I was told to enter near the south garage. I had no idea how to get back to the surgery check in. I entered the women's entrance and told the security guard I needed to get back to the south garage entrance. He radioed a man in a golf cart to meet me at the entrance and take me back to the surgery area. I told him the hospital website said there was valet parking near the children's emergency area. He said that was no longer being offered. My surgery lasted longer than the doctor told us and by the time I arrived in recovery and then post op I was the only patient in post op area. The nurses were all leaving and saying good night to other nurses. My nurse was the only one there. The motion lighting in the other tented rooms were turning off. As I was getting dressed to leave the nurse told my wife to bring the car to a different door to pick me up for the drive home. As I had dropped her off at the surgery entrance at 10:30, seven and a half hours earlier, she had no idea where our car was except my description of it parked across from the women's entrance. The nurse was so pleasant and helpful she offered my wife a wheelchair and took her to the security desk to call for the golf cart courtesy driver. Unfortunately, both the nurse and my wife learned that service goes home at 4:00. It's now 6:30. So now the only nurse in post op pushed my wife in a wheelchair the entire length of the hospital to the women's section to get our car. I sat by myself in a chair with now one light on waiting for the nurse to return. There are 6 handicapped parking spaces outside the surgery entrance. And perhaps 10 non handicapped spaces. Arriving late morning you will not find a parking spot. There are no reserved for surgery parking spots. As patients are released the assigned nurses go home and the area pretty much shuts down for the night. Very poor arrangement. The staff readily acknowledges that parking is horrible but apparently that's where it ends. The Doctors have a reserved parking area. The patients including surgeries are left to fend for yourself self. My future hospital needs will be at Tampa General or St Joe South.

I was impressed with the quick response and feedback! The Imaging staff was so pleasant and understanding of my needs. We discussed the options available to avoid the delay in reading the X-rays for next time. I have been using the BayCare Health Hub in Valrico for a number of years. I moved to Lake Wales several years ago but even though my drive is almost 2 hours, I will continue to go there. The staff is pleasant and efficient and the facility is clean. I have had to call Baycare Imaging in Valrico on 2 separate occasions to request the results of my X-rays. I went to Imaging in enough time to have the results back before my scheduled PCP appointment! These were not complicated X-rays. This happening again is unacceptable. I go to Baycare Heath Hub in Valrico because I trust this business but that trust is quickly fading. Also I called prior to closing hours and the message was they were unable to take my call!
