Came in without an appointment right before 10am and the computer said I would be seen at 11:30. A nurse came out to catch me to see me right away. This place is extremely professional. If you ever go in for labs at other companies it is usually unpleasant and will take up a huge chunk of your day. I did not experience that here. I wish more medical systems and employers used quest and not other companies. I felt so happy and comfortable with my experience here. Also this place is super clean. My daughter had blood drawn on 12/29 through Quest at Cap Women's Care and I cannot say enough good things about Verna and Erica--competent, funny and caring. They made my teen daughter and me laugh while they painlessly drew blood from her. They even brought her cookies when I confessed that she hadn't eaten breakfast. Avoid this place like the plague!! This is perhaps the worst experience I have ever had at a medical office or clinic! This morning I had an appointment to have my blood tested for a metabolic status and a lipid profile. Here are all the horrible things about this clinic: 1) There is no one at the front desk. Instead, you enter a tiny waiting room with fully locked doors and a large screen. A fellow customer told me to sign in on a little screen. That almost did not work. Finally it did. The waiting room was dirty and airless. 2) An unfriendly nurse or technician came out to get me. She chastised me for having a tiny bit of sugar in my morning black coffee. Then she jabbed me so hard- I've never had such pain on a blood draw before! 3) I used the restroom and found that there was no water there at all- not at the sink, the toilet would not flush and there was no soap. I went into another bathroom. Again no soap nor paper towels but at least there was water. 4). When I got to the lobby I felt pain in my arm. I took off my jacket and found my arm was bleeding a lot through the bandaid . then later when I took the bandaid off I had a large purple bruise. It's appalling that this office touts itself as a medical service provider. As you enter, you'll immediately notice that the waiting room is caked in dirt and grime. I'm no hypochondriac, but I was absolutely terrified to spend time in that filthy room. I didn't dare take my son out of his stroller throughout my entire visit. How can they be trusted to use clean instruments when they cannot even sweep the goop-covered floors? Next, as another reviewer mentioned, the lab tech who drew my blood was curt, aggressive, and completely blew my vein. He barely even took two seconds to talk to me or locate the vein--just had me sit down and stabbed a needle in like he was basting a turkey. (Picture attached). I am not a person who writes reviews a lot. But I can tell you I have had the worse patient care experience of my life with these people. Their billing department and customer services is a joke. They do not coordinate with insurances and sending you the whole bill with no insurance coverage then you spend days to contact them, you reach a representative, they need you to do to their jobs for them and ask for EoB and fax it to them only (we are not in 21st century here). I came in without an appointment about 5 minutes after they opened at 8 a.m. because I needed to have fasting blood work done, so I was afraid there might be a line (and I was hungry and wanted breakfast). There were two people there ahead of me, but they called me back within 10 minutes and I was out the door again before 8:30. I'm a wimp about needles. Monique, the phlebotomist, was a real pro and was friendly enough to listen to me babble on about something unrelated to distract myself during the blood draw. I reached out to quest but the support department didn't understand my compliant....so this is my compliant: went in for labs, while in dc area, they did not ask for ID, they where using the blood pressure machine sitting in the sink and the cuff was very tight and painful, I asked the black lady with very short hair, to use my hand to get blood but she went for the arm and what a bruise...pain for days. I only use Quest Diagnostics for my labs, but be aware of this one and there lack of training and customer service! read more

In my experience Quest does not hire people for their customer service skills, and Tanya (sp?) is no exception. I walk into the the office to no acknowledgement-- no eye contact, no smile, no hello, no nod. She takes two calls before I gesture that I have a form and a cup and she gestures back that I should sign in. She takes two more calls and I sit down, tired of standing around like a sick idiot. She then twice tells me in an incomplete sentence that she needs to get my paperwork. I sit there like a sick idiot waiting for her to get my paperwork until I realize she meant she needs to get it from _me_. Wouldn't it be easier to just say a full sentence like "please give me your form"? She then communicates in piecemeal directions that I need to go label my cup in the out-of-order bathroom and leave the cup in the out-of-order bathroom. She doesn't really ever make eye contact or use complete sentences. I am pretty sure English _is_ her first language. It's not like I feel at my best walking into a laboratory carrying my own specimen cup, it'd be great to feel a bit human. At least acknowledged. Better for business to ignore the bird in the hand-- the two on the phone might yet fly away, I guess. It's unfortunate I'm in such a bad mood such that Quest gets the short end of the reviewing stick today, but the moment I heard I had to go to a Quest I groaned, so it's just a long history of disappointment. I'll give them a second star for a convenient location. I'm not sure why I'm reviewing this anyway, it's not like you have much of a choice in laboratories. read more

I am not one to give poor reviews, but unfortunately did not have a good experience with this location. As others have noted, if you want great customer service go somewhere else. They are about as friendly as a box of rocks. I made sure to put pressure on the site once she was completed because I did not want to bruise. However, the complete opposite happened. A week later I still have a nasty bruise measuring about 5 inches by 2 inches, green/blue/purple, and slight tenderness still. My nurse friends have said it appears she blew my vein. Calls to report it have not been successful. I have been told there are no managers or supervisors at that location...??? If you can go to another lab I suggest labcorp. They have always been gentle with no issues. read more

My experience today was rather unfortunate. The office was easy enough to find, but once I stepped into the tiny office I was met with a very brisk "Hello." I signed-in, and then stood there while the woman ignored me for two minutes. She finally said: "You can sit down." I sat down and waited. She left the room, another woman came out, didn't acknowledge me or the other gentleman in the room, and also left. About ten minutes later the woman came back and called me up. I provided my information, which was recorded incorrectly. The woman then told me to go sit in room number three. I waited in the room, and was taken aback by the visible dirt on the furniture and walls. To my surprise the woman who registered me also came back to draw my blood. She told me to "sit down here," and then said "roll up your sleeve." She took my blood, labeled the vials, said you're done and left the room. I slipped and fell on the floor in the hallway, and when I told the woman there was something on it, she said: "No, you just fell" in a nasty tone. It was very clear from the beginning that this woman not only does not like her job, but she treated the patients like they were a burden. She had no interest in creating a friendly atmosphere. I will not be returning to this facility, and I will be posting my experience on YELP and other DC community sites. read more

Ugh. This place is dirty and disgusting and their operations are terrible. Even after making an appointment, I had to wait 30 minutes past my time to be seen. The labs techs were grumpy, and when I suggested they call my doctor because they were confused by a test, one said it "wasn't her job to double check test orders." Really? I'm signing up for Yelp just so I can write this review, my experience was so negative. I'm a GW student who was referred to this Quest by the GW Student Health Center (which was fantastic, btw). I've been to Quest labs before that were quite nice....this one was awful. As the other reviewers stated, the customer service is basically nil. The workers loudly complained about their jobs, snapped at customers, and acted like we were interrupting their day. Worse than that, though, was how dirty the office was. The floor and shelves had mysterious stains on them, there was medical waste improperly disposed of (even I know you don't throw bloody gauze in a regular wastebin), and gauze (which appeared to be unused, but who knows) lying on the floor. I am new to having my lab work completed outside of my physician's office, so I wasn't sure what to expect. The less-than-complimentary reviews of most Quest locations in the area had me feeling skeptical... I'm so glad to have randomly chosen this location! Keshia was awesome. She helped me sign in and complete the brief paperwork, and she also drew my blood. She was welcoming, friendly, and maintained a sense of humor with me as I looked away while she drew my blood. She was quick, but thoroughly checked vials and paperwork for accuracy. She also encouraged me to take my time gathering my items when it was time to leave. I will be back to this location for my future lab work, and I certainly hope to have the type of experience I did this week. read more

I am horribly scared of needles and also had an awful experience with someone at the hospital taking my blood, Theresa did a phenomenal job and has been doing it she said for 25+ years she used the butterfly needle and was amazing. I have been here multiple times, so, this is not a one-time experience. The staff is not at the front desk to greet you. When they appear they still don't greet you. Furthermore, there are no smiles, no "thank you", no "please"; they are just not welcoming. They rarely pick-up the phone, and never return phone calls. Keshia came in and immediately made me comfortable. I told her I was afraid of needles so she started telling me stories and it completely relaxed me. She was fantastic. I didn't have a problem with the facility or the technicians. The front desk staff were less than friendly most of the time, but I have come to expect that at most places in DC. The reason I urge you to stay away from Quest Diagnostics is because of there inept billing department. Every single time I had anything done at Quest, they sent bills to the wrong address, always had my incorrect insurance information, etc. No matter how many times I called to correct it, they never got it right! My last issue with billing is that they keep sending me a bill saying my insurance denied the claim. They denied the claim because they already paid the claim. Quest submitted two claims to my insurance for the same "procedure". I have called several times to clear it up and they say "we have sent it to be researched", and then 4 weeks later I get another bill for the same thing. I have to call all over again. My insurance has confirmed several times that I do not owe anything! This still isn't resolved. Save yourself future headaches and go somewhere else. read more
