If you ever go in for labs at other companies it is usually unpleasant and will take up a huge chunk of your day. I did not experience that here. I wish more medical systems and employers used quest and not other companies. I felt so happy and comfortable with my experience here. Also this place is super clean. They're dealing with somebody in patient relations who has very little authority. MedStar had one of their higher working executives get back to me to address my concerns. I commend them on that. I booked just a few days in advance and made sure to arrive early just in case. I'm glad I did arrive early, because where my uber dropped me off, I had to ask for directions (it's downstairs) and then the kiosk check-in when I arrived took another 5 mins or so. The waiting room was crowded, but it seems as though most people had an appointment (I also saw a sign that it was an appointment only location.) While the folks working here may be a little curt, they called me and processed everything on time for my appointment before sending me to the back room to get my blood drawn. The folks back there are also very direct, but once chatting them up found them to be very warm. Any lab work was sent directly to my provider, making the whole process much easier than expected. Result: no diagnosis, no prescription, no visit summary, like she hasn't been there.

At the behest of my doctor, I made an appointment to see if they could figure out what was going on. We did skin test, even though I said I had already had those, and it would just show that I am allergic to pretty much every environmental allergen. Which is exactly what the tests did. And I'm left paying nearly 400 out of pocket for this. Then, the best this doctor could do (and remember that allergists are also supposed to be immunologists), was tell me to take Zyrtec 2x daily (even though I had already explained that the antihistamine my doctor prescribed provided no relief) and come back in a month. In the interim, I have been in HELL with the hives getting progressively worse, and no itch relief. Finally saw a dermatologist at a yesterday who was incredibly concerned prescribed high dose steroids, and in less than 12 hours, I have almost perfect relief. As an aside, this practice also breaks HIPAA laws by requiring you to submit your medical records to their separate audiology practice. So again, 0/10 recommend.
