If you are looking for a karate studio your kids won't grow out of, DMA is it! Mr Shervin is constantly learning and fine tuning his own skills, then he passes that on to the students. My kids started at age 3 and are now 7 & 10. They still love it and have a great time. I especially like how even the little ones spar at the end of every class- when kids know their own strength they are confident. The classes get more challenging as they get older, while maintaining the friendly and fun atmosphere. The respect and self control taught on the mat flawlessly trickled into my home and school. I am absolutely over the moon about DMA! I enrolled my son into this in hopes that he will learn to focus and learn some hard discipline! I am proud to say that after just ONE WEEK of attending the little dragons classes he is showing some major improvements. I really hate to leave bad reviews but sadly, I had a pretty bad experience here. I initially chose this place through yelp because of all the good reviews and because I wanted to support a family owned business. I signed my 3 1/2 year old boy for a twice a week session in hopes of it helping his attention and discipline issues. I even talked to the lady who runs the place and I let her know what issues we are having. She seemed to understand and told me this would be really great for him so I proceeded to buy him the necessary karate clothes and a twice a week class package. They seemed to always have two instructors and would break up the class in two groups and then switch after a few min (the class is only 30 min long) After he took the first class, my little guy seemed very excited about it. Mr. Shervin seemed very goofy but also very strict with the kids. His daughter was one of the instructors as well and was really good with the kids. I liked her the most! I was pretty happy the first few times even though I felt they were a little too hard on some of the young kids at time. The first three times were great, my son was excited to go but the 4th time we went my son was too distracted by his grandma who came to watch. Mr. shervin got frustrated with him grabbed his hand kind of aggressively and told him that dragons don't act this way and to go to his mommy. I kind of understood since my little one wasn't really trying and he was already 5 min into the class. So we left. It's the next day when we returned that really rubbed me the wrong way. My little guy was standing behind the line getting ready like all the other kids and he told the first group to go run and my little guy started running thinking he was part of that group but mr. Shervin grabbed him and said did I say mason go run? At that point, he belittled him. Brought his confidence down. He thought he was with that group and made a mistake. Mr. Shervin then proceeded to tell the kids to go grab a cone and that's when my son started crying. Mr. Shervin rudely told him to go leave and go to his mommy. For someone who has so much credentials and supposedly much experience working with all type of kids I was surprised in the lack of patience, guiding and teaching. I was really taken back. My son went from loving karate to saying he doesn't want to do it anymore. I was really upset that he would embarrass my child and myself in front of everyone. Mr. Shervin was so careless and cold hearted. We left after that happened and my son was really upset all day saying that he was mean to him and didn't understand why. When I called and spoke to the lady (sorry I forgot her name, I think it's his wife) she apologized for what happened and refunded most of my money which I appreciated. (Hence the extra star I gave them) But this still doesn't sit well with me and I'm really disappointed. Wanted to share my experience. Not very happy about what happened!!! read more

This place surpasses all the other studios we went to before! Dragons Martial Arts is not only family owned for 18 years but their instructors work really well with the kids. They are a very clean studio following all the guidelines for in person training. They also have a curriculum based system that the kids enjoy. I practiced Martial Arts for several years. When my daughter expressed an interest in trying Martial Arts for herself, I was overjoyed!! We started her at a different studio and after about 6 months, we realized it wasn't a good fit. The experience seemed very manufactured and like it was all about the money and not actually learning Martial Arts. Fortunately, we found DMA (Dragon Martial Arts) and it was love at first sight!! We haven't looked back since. If you want a true Martial Arts school run by a true Martial Artist that is passionate, patient, talented and devoted to his school and his students, then you MUST come check them out!! They have classes for little ones, kids, juniors and adults. Mr. Shervin also offers private sessions with special needs students that require a different class setting. The monthly payments are very affordable and very competitive based on what I've seen from other schools. DMA also promotes a positive home life and requires the students to respect their parents, siblings, friends and classmates. They require the students to bring in their report cards to make sure they are working hard in school! It is absolutely everything you could possibly want from a Martial Arts school and much, much more!!!! I cannot recommend DMA enough to anyone and everyone!! I am happy to write a review for this place, honestly, I am blown away. There is a reason why this place is so popular and seemingly getting more popular. It's already difficult to find parking, if it continues to gain popularity, parents might have to start parking across the street! It's a good problem to have! I enrolled my daughter last week and she absolutely loves the experience. We signed her up for Martial Arts because while playing softball we struggled with her having a low frustration tolerance. Best decision we have made in a long while. It's only the beginning of her second week and we have already seen a dramatic difference in our daughter. Her memory and focus has increased, she's very motivated to do her homework and assignments in school, she's been extremely helpful with chores, and overall just a much better child! We had our son at a different martial arts studio before this one and our son wasn't excited about it. Right after we switched him to Dragons he began to love it. Now that we've been here almost a year we have watched our son grow in his focus and listening skills as well as his fitness. I love hearing him say "yes sir!" or "yes Mam!" Our four and six-year-old started at Dragons Martial Arts last year and it is like a second home for us. Mr. Shervin and the entire group of instructors are absolutely amazing and we feel like family there. It has been so awesome to watch our boys learn not only martial arts, but respect, discipline, focus and being humble.
