I want to make it clear that this review is based on my own firsthand experience working at this QuikTrip. I personally witnessed conditions that I found extremely nasty, unprofessional, and concerning from a cleanliness and sanitation standpoint. Based on what I personally saw, I would not feel comfortable eating food from this location. I also personally experienced how management and supervisors responded when employees were struggling mentally or emotionally. When I expressed that I was having a difficult time, I was told things such as "man up," "toughen up," and to "stop crying all the time." Being treated that way when you're already struggling was extremely upsetting and made me feel like my well-being was not taken seriously. Daniel watched a customer drop tongs onto the floor and the customer put it back onto the place holder for tongs and he walked away and didn't clean them or replace with clean tongs. We're supposed to wear the floor monitors because they are part of safety protocol and no one wears them which left me feeling always uncomfortable and not secure as they alert all employees and managers of an emergency or etc We don't get any breaks whatsoever, there's not even a break room. If you want to eat you have to do it when store is empty which this location is busy all the time. Aline T, likes to go by the motto "this is a company and business is the first priority" so imagine how I felt expressing my concerns for myself personally and store/customers. She and her colleagues as I listed their names above only and solely care about the money they're bringing in even if it's not regarding costumers health and safety. I also personally experienced an issue with transportation. My manager Camren told me that he would take me home, but I was ultimately left without a way home. I ended up walking from Campbell and Irvington all the way to Alvernon and 29th before eventually having to accept a ride from a random person to get to my actual address. I found this extremely concerning and felt that I was put in an unsafe and unfair situation. When I told my manger Jimmy B, he chucked and said "that sucks, I guess you just have to figure it out" During my time there, I personally witnessed cleanliness and workplace issues that made me question whether employee and customer safety were being taken seriously. Store 1490 constantly fails inspections and food audits. Kitchen food isn't stored properly, found a bug in tub. Sometimes the floor in the back room will be completely flooded and water gets tracked all the floor and no one mops it up and caution wet floors signs are never visible where it's a liability for the customers safety. Employees deserve to be treated with respect, especially when they are struggling. Customers deserve a clean and sanitary environment. Unfortunately, based on my firsthand experience at this location, I would not recommend working here or eating here. Another serious issue I personally experienced while working there was being kept outside in the heat for an extended period of time. I was left in the direct Arizona sun long enough that I began experiencing symptoms of what was heat exhaustion. I felt physically unwell and felt that my concerns about the heat were not taken seriously. After a while they called an ambulance for me then the next day when I returned tried to place me outside once again. As someone working in Arizona's extreme heat, I believe management should take employee safety seriously and recognize when someone may be becoming overheated. I personally felt that my health and safety were disregarded in that situation, and it was one of the experiences that contributed to how unsafe and unsupported I felt while working there.
