I had my pictures taken with my little one and had my photo drawn on the same day at the ATX Baconfest on 9/8/2019. While my little one did not want to sing any karaoke while our photo was being drawn, she did want to listen to jokes. While the jokes told during the drawing were silly, they certainly made me and my little one belly laugh. I attended a wedding outside Austin and in a side room to the main reception there was a makeshift photo studio with a bench in front of beautiful flowers and a crazy Frenchman telling silly jokes while taking your picture and then drawing the results for you while you sing karaoke. We first stepped into Aron's Quick Draw Photo Booth at a holiday party several years ago and absolutely loved it - so much so that we decided we wanted to have Aron at our wedding reception. Working with Aron was a sincere pleasure. He was incredibly responsive and he went above and beyond working with us to meet all the needs for the event. We loved his attention to detail - he even went back and found our old photos the holiday party and used them as part of the new photos. While hard to believe, his booth is even more awesome now than it was that first time around. During the event, Aron and his assistant did a fantastic job of running the booth. They were patient, kind, and extremely entertaining. Our guests were lined up down the sidewalk, and we overheard many people telling others "You HAVE to try the photo booth!" I didn't know what to expect when I entered this booth with my gal pal - it was the first time I heard of Quick Draw & they were offering complimentary photos/ drawings at Bird's Besties party. I love a good photo-booth so I decided to give it a whirl. I'll start with what I loved about Quick Draw: The finished product. My photos/drawings. The concept of Quick Draw is the guy behind a tarp takes three pictures of you & then quickly draws a cartoon sketch matching your photo booth photos. When I received my final product I was really impressed. I thought it was creative & done well. I think the man behind the screen is a talented artist & I like the idea of having a sketch (with a witty saying) next to my photo. It's different & original. I thought it was a typical photo booth when I entered with my gal pal but there are a few things that made this booth different. First, there is a man sitting behind the tarp in front of you & a small camera lens staring back at you. The man behind the tarp (who speaks in a mega phone) starts speaking to me in an English accent, rattling of jokes and one liners. In the beginning I thought he was charming and kinda witty, but as the session went on his jokes got meaner and meaner. Look I love good English humor but I'm not a huge fan of being put down or made fun of. Well I take that back, I love making fun of myself or when someone makes fun of me & we both are laughing. I don't find it funny when the person telling the jokes is the only one laughing. Maybe I'm too nice or I was having an extra sensitive moment - either way I left the photo booth feeling a bit annoyed. Final answer regarding my experience: I loved the final product, I just didn't care for the banter. read more

Brilliant fun, such a clever idea. It's my third round in the photobooth at a birthday party last weekend, after many years, and it was so fun. Since the first two rounds, they've added a karaoke element to the booth, which loosens everyone else and adds to the fun (whether you're a karaoke fan or not, you're alone or with people you know in the booth). While I didn't have a "photo" drawn, I was very entertained by Aron Taylor, otherwise known as "Jean-Pierre". He came out to Rogness Brewing's first anniversary party, and he had everybody laughing. The set-up is interesting. It's a square canvas tent that looks like a photo booth. "Jean-Pierre" sits in the back, behind a canvas curtain, acting as the gears and cogs of the photo booth. He has an itty-bitty spot where he looks through the canvas at you so he can draw your picture. When he's done, he slides your "photos" through a narrow slit in the canvas. It's all free, but there's a canvas pocket underneath the photo drop for tips. It's cute and novel and silly-sweet. "Jean-Pierre" caresses you with his smooth French accent during the process, and I even caught him singing while he was drawing. Got it on video, too. Aron is fantastic! He was always prompt to answer emails and phone calls. He was easy to work which is a huge plus during wedding times. At the wedding, everyone loved it! "How can I eh describe dis uh le ex-periance?" That was my very bad impression of a French accent that "Jean Pierre" perfected during my photo booth picture. With a Château de Versailles themed party, the artist "Jean Pierre" drew his imaginations away with my picture. Wearing French inspired costumes, a wig, and a masquerade mask, my girlfriend and I sat in the really bright light on a bench awkwardly waiting for Jean Pierre to finish the previous couple's picture. To stall for time, the artist told us extremely quirky jokes that kept our eyebrows raised (don't worry Jean Pierre, that's a good thing). Right, lights camera action! Not. Instead the artist narrates our photo story, giving us guidelines of what poses to do. This helped a lot especially since we tend to blank out on poses. I'll have to admit the whole process was nerve-racking as the people waiting in line were all staring at us. We also didn't know we had to draw numbers from the booth to go next in line. We ended up waiting in a single filed line without a number and people that came after us were going before us. Eventually it came to our attention that "le number" was needed. But in the end I think it was a great experience. The artist took 3 snapshots of us on a digital camera, and then took 3-5 minutes to actually draw the snapshots with....wait for it....captions! I must applaud the artist's quick creative thinking with our captions because it ended up working out really well. After the artist was done drawing, he slipped it through the photo booth manually which was funny to watch the paper being shoved through the canvas. Overall a very unique concept to a typical photo booth and I would recommend this for any parties/events. read more
