If you haven't spent much time with doctors, or had surgery yourself or long stays at a hospital (as a patient or visiting someone), it can be overwhelming. My first real experience with Medical City McKinney was several years ago, when I spent weeks there with my elderly father. He went from the ER to PCU, then home with hospice, and passed away from heart failure. It was a complicated situation, but looking back, I'm deeply grateful for the compassionate care he received at Medical City McKinney. I met the CEO in the elevator who actually cared and personally escalated my case (he didn't have to do that). Four years later, returned for surgery. The experience was smooth from start to finish, from pre-op, to post-op, to getting discharged and heading out the door, every single patient care person I met was kind, professional, and genuinely seemed to enjoy what they do. Bonus! Honestly, I'm not sure what to think about the negative reviews. Definitely take into account each experience is based on specific situations, and whether you are a patient, caretaker or visitor. I recommend you make a decision based on your specific situation. Good Luck.

Words cannot express how well my ER visit went today. Thank you all so much! I was at this location this afternoon for a work related injury. I cannot remember the name of the ER in-take nurse but she was so helpful, kind, empathetic, and knowledgeable. She did a fantastic job of getting me checked in and seen right away. Then I met Dr. Erin MacDonald Owens, she was friendly, caring, and listened to my concerns. She acted accordingly and facilitated my needs with Radiographs, oral medications given in hospital and prescriptions sent to my most convenient pharmacy. I then met the sweetest nurse, I apologize that I forgot her name! She helped me with all paperwork and assisted me in finding the correct information on my paperwork that I arrived with from my place of business. She was the best; so nice, very caring and stayed with me until I fully understood everything going on. She did not leave me until I had all questions answered. Thank you, to an amazing female nurse that comforted an anxious patient. Then I met Paul, he came in and performed radiographs of my Left elbow/forearm. He had the greatest personality, he even allowed me to joke about my veterinary career field. He was so gentle, funny, and put my mind at ease so I could continue with Dr. Owens's orders. After some time I met Brooke, whom fitted me with a sling to help comfort my injured arm. She made me laugh and is clearly very experienced in her field of medicine. I want to say thank you to the amazing team of nurses and Dr. You all greatly contributed to easing my mind and understand today's course of action.

That's basic medical knowledge. This past time; I went in for an Xray of my heel. I'd fallen 10ft and landed on it. They had to give me a wheelchair because I was so immobile. Well Xray tech comes and takes me to the Xray room. She was very unprofessional. I was in severe pain and she kept, very assertively, telling me to place my foot in a very specific position. Well that wasn't easy and she was not patient. I physically couldn't do it without wincing pain, she didn't care at all. She was extremely unprofessional. Anyway, after that I'm wheeled back to my room and the Dr comes in with the Xray results. She says it's not broken and tells me to take Tylenol and RICE it... ...I was sweating it was so painful and she kept poking it. I told her that I had already done that and it wasn't doing anything. She shrugged and said she can't do anything. Fast forward 3 days and I saw a specialist who ordered an MRI, the specialist also helped me with the pain the same day of my appointment. MRI comes back and my heel is split down the middle. Long story short; I will not be returning to this place, and I will recommend elsewhere to others.

Despite this, nurse Pryra prescribed two medications, one of which contained penicillin. Please take your health serious and avoid this clinic.
