My room sections were bedrooms, in which I was responsible for the design and layout, executing it all myself. So now, let's talk about IKEA. I am a huge fan and have been since prior to their expansion into the U.S. market. As a student, I had access to materials for furniture and decor from all over the world. And of course, when I was just starting out with my first apartment, everything was IKEA from top to bottom. All of the stores pretty much have the same setup (there may be one or two small differences). What it boils down to for me is the availability of items, i.e., do they have what I want in stock? These days, I am more of an accessories shopper or having lunch at the cafe, and stocking up on those sweet, sweet Swedish goodies. This location has everything I need and want anytime I swing by. The value and pricing IKEA has always been known for are still there, though they too have seen increases over the years. And even though it is a self-service concept, employees are always available to assist and are happy to do so. IKEA & this location get an A+ from me.

A week later it had not been picked up after numerous calls to overstock I was told to just dispose of it myself!!! I had already told them I was a disabled senior citizen and couldn't move this large mirror plus it's BROKEN, which is dangerous. Two weeks later I am still waiting for overstock to remove this broken dangerous mirror from my place, they care about getting your money but not about the customer, there delivery time is long and drawn out for furniture and large items. If these things are delivered broken or damaged they don't care because it's your problem.

Mary, the owner of this Budget Blinds franchise, is the one you'll deal with if you call them and she's absolutely wonderful. She's deeply knowledgeable and experienced and took the time to explain the pros and cons of different product options and to give us good, thoughtful advice about the best choices to make sure the blinds fit with our existing home decor. She's not one of these slick salespeople who are really good at being friendly and polished-looking but don't really know that much and only care about making a quick sale. She is really good at being friendly but in a more real, and genuinely helpful way. Absolutely no pressure or hard sell tactics at all. We almost didn't go with her because we had gotten a quote from another contractor that came in substantially cheaper. Mary looked at the quote and pointed out a few costs that had not been included in that quote, however. And, when I did a little more research, I discovered that the lower quote was almost entirely misleading. If we'd gone with that other contractor (which was also well-reviewed online, I should mention), we would've ended up paying about the same as we paid Mary but for lower-quality blinds with a flimsy warranty. Instead, we got top-quality blinds and I trust 100% that, if we ever have any issues, Mary will be there to help us get them sorted out with a minimum of hassle. I did have to ask Mary to send someone back out because I wanted to adjust the tension on one of the blinds (in my kids' room), which was not rolling up as easily as I wanted it to. The technician was out very quickly and fixed the problem immediately. He then showed me how I could adjust the tension on any of my manual blinds very easily, making sure to watch me practice the procedure and make sure I had it right. We got fabric blinds--light blocking in the bedrooms and light filtering in the other rooms. The fabrics look really beautiful and rich; I absolutely love them. In a couple of rooms got a motorized open/close mechanism (with smart hub to operate with our phones, plus it came with a couple of wall-mounted remotes). In the rest of the house (kids' rooms, playroom, etc.), we just got simple, manually-operated fabric blinds. All work great--exactly as promised by Mary. The motorized ones are really nice. They use a rechargeable battery that needs to be charged once every 3 months or so, which is super easy. You just plug in a USB cable. We got a long one to make that easier and it's really no trouble. The ease of the motorized mechanism more than makes up for that slight bit of work every few months. We got very light colors in the light-blocking blinds and I worried a bit about them getting dirty but they've been impressively resistant to getting dirty. They've gotten smudged a few times (by the dog or the kids) and I just used a Magic Eraser, which the technician who installed them suggested as the best way to clean them, and it worked great. They came out looking like new. Bottom line: If you're looking for an honest, knowledgeable, responsive source for new window coverings, you can't go wrong with Mary Pokorny at Budget Blinds of Southeast Austin. NOTE: Although it's called Budget Blinds of Hays County and Southeast Austin, we live in Oak Hill (definitely not east) and were still within her territory.

If it was left up to him, this would easily be a four star review. But the rest of the experience was not great. Their selection of Casper beds were scattered between the adult and children's sections of the store. I could only test trial the lowest two lines they sold (The One and The Dream) on a full size mattress. But, of course, their top of the line (The Snow) came in a king size. If you know anything about buying mattresses, the smaller the mattress the more firm it will feel. So I really couldn't get a good idea of what the mattresses would feel like in my home. The next killer were the add-ons that reminded me of sketchy furniture store tactics. Those included a $70 delivery and setup fee--not too bad in and of itself--but overkill for a bed-in-a-box. Mattresses bought direct from Casper have free shipping and returns. The same mattresses bought through Room To Go? They carry a $100 return fee--plus ANOTHER $70 setup/delivery fee if you exchange them for another product. Jose was up-front about the reason for the $100 fee--it's to compensate RoomStore for lost revenue on returns incurred by honoring Casper's warranty. He also admitted they have very few returns. I wonder why? At this point I'd had enough of the Rooms To Go hooliganism and extortion due to special terms and conditions, asterisks on everything, and additional dealer profit from outrageous fees. After all, it's a bed not a car and I can get the same thing at Costco with straightforward pricing. Also his manager kept calling Jose away with phone calls and other shenanigans, which made a simple quick experience quite protracted and wasted my time. I left with a good feeling--THAT I WOULDN'T BE BUYING A BED FROM RTG. Or anything else for that matter.

We went back to the Kyle location come Thursday and they were closed with this sign on the door that states if we travel to the south Austin location we would receive 10% off. So, we got in our vehicle and traveled to that location. Got there and spoke with someone who claimed he was the manager. Showed him the bed we had looked at and wanted to purchase. However he gave us a price that was not what we were expecting...about $400 more. So we told him the situation with their internet and how we visited the other location and they were unexpectedly closed so we came there and asked if he would honor the pricing. He refused and said that the pricing given was a sale price and the sale ended on the 9th when the internet was down statewide. I advised him I didn't understand why they wouldn't honor it as the internet being completely down on sales day was something out of everyone's control not to mention we went to go speak with Bert today to purchase but there was a staffing issue in the Kyle location. He copped an attitude and said he was not going to stick his neck out for us and there was nothing he was willing to do. It was a blessing in disguise as I didn't wanna do business with a company that doesn't value their customers time and money. We waltzed our way over to Mattress Firm across the street and they were GREAT! We ended up purchasing something newer with an adjustable base for around the same price the "manager" was trying to sell us a mattress and box spring.

Do not buy flooring material from Floor and Decor. They sell defective material and don't honor…read morewarranties. I purchased Nucor LVF (Luxury Vinyl Flooring) from Floor and Decor on 12/27/2023 paying $3.99 per sq. ft. It came with a Lifetime Warranty. Within few weeks of installation, the flooring had dents and scratches. My contractor filed the complaint with Floor and decor in March 2024. The company was supposed to send a rep out, but no one came. After waiting over a month for a rep, I had contractor take out the damaged flooring, re-purchased replacement flooring from Floor and Decor and had it installed since I did not want the floor to be half done. Meanwhile the claim from my contractor was denied. After reflooring was finished the floor started denting again. It is not standing up to the quality mentioned by Floor and Decor. I filed the compensation with Floor and Decor based on product's lifetime warranty but it was denied. I am really unhappy with the floor quality and plan to replace.
