The one star comes as a result as they showed up and moved my furniture. Outside of that, I would give them ZERO stars and would NOT recommend this company. I booked the moved and paid the deposit weeks before the move date. The movers called outside of the move window to say they were on their way. They showed up nearly an hour late. They were dropping and throwing boxes. I had to ask them not to drop/throw boxes. At one point, one of the movers decided to take a 30 minute bathroom break during the move. Then all of a sudden, the "glue melted" after the dining room table when it was placed in the truck. Hmm...strange, if the "glue" was "melting", the table would have fallen apart inside the apartment and not the truck. I really wanted to like this company, but not so much. Used them for moving on 4/12/25. Cannot put into enough words how professional the 2 young men were that showed up. They got after it and never stopped until they were loaded and ready to go. They followed up to the storage facility and unloaded and neatly packed everything away. Took such care of the furniture and fragile items. I've had two moves with this company. The first was May 2024 and it was phenomenal. Which is why I went with them again last week. My experience was vastly different. One person arrived with the truck a few minutes after 9. He said he would not start the clock until the other movers arrived, which should be about ten minutes. The second mover arrived around 9:30 and the third mover arrived at 10. However, the clock started around 9:15. When I brought this up at time of payment, I was only provided an additional 15 minutes or so. I still tipped them all well but I did tip the first mover more than the others because he was there first. Two of the workers were very friendly and nice just for the record. One of the workers was watching a football game on his phone, which was fine. However, there were times when he was literally only carrying things in one hand so that he could hold the phone in his other to see the game. They weren't able to fit everything, though there was more room in the back. I said I would take care of the rest as long as everything could fit in the back of my car and as long as I could pick it up myself. I pointed out my car and was assured everything left fit those criteria. After the move, I walked through the house and found a punching bag that did not fit in my car, nor was I able to lift myself. I ended up having to pay someone with a truck to assist me with moving the rest of my items. Lastly, one of my son's monitors was broken in the move, though it was wrapped very well. I paid quite a bit more with this move with much lower effort and results. I reached out to them to give them my feedback and inquire about damages and haven't received a response at all. I tried to reach out through the Better Business Bureau (their grade on there is abysmal) and they have not responded to that complaint either. Small Claims Court is next since I have videos of everything here. I definitely would not recommend working with this company. read more

I had a great experience with ATX Firefighter. I got a quote extremely fast from Luis, and the price was better than the other ones that quoted me, so I went with them. The actual movers, PJ and Josh were also great, extremely corteous, hard workers, moved all my stuff with care, didn't break anything, and did everything super fast. We were scheduled to move at 10:00 but were postponed at 4:30 to the next morning. We spent the whole day expecting them. Calls inquiring where they were went to voicemail. We had to un pack boxes to get sheets to remake the bed. The next day was worse for contacting when they did not show up as scheduled. BOTTOM LINE: They don't show up when scheduled and you will have nothing but frustration in calling. read more

What really irritates me and is a huge disappointment with a name that includes firefighters and from Austin, which makes you think they're good people, honest, and will take care of you is a cop out for a business out of touch with basic customer service and accountability. Several items of mine were damaged and scratched. I had to keep reaching out to them for updates to again be disappointed with an offer of returning a $100 dep or them coming out and trying to restore my furniture. For several thousand dollars of furniture, neither option was acceptable, but ultimately chose for them to come out and try and repair. After another several weeks of not hearing back from Luis I sent emails and called asking to speak with a manager and have been ghosted. No honor and lack of accountability. Nothing worse. I'm pretty disappointed now that I've unpacked and realized how much of my stuff was damaged/broken during the move. My media cabinet is nearly falling apart and my antique lamps (which are irreplaceable) have been broken. I paid $1000 for the move and still had the make numerous trips myself and even assist the guys with moving because they couldn't seem to get organized. We used ATX Firefighter Moving for our recent move within Austin. We scheduled about 1 month in advance and requested the 10 AM time slot. Two days before, they rescheduled us to a 12-5 arrival time, which wasn't ideal but stuff happens. The day of the move, they texted us at 10:15-ish saying they were 26 minutes away, but we never heard back after that. We tried calling the office multiple times, but they never answered before closing at noon. Eventually we got a call from the driver around 3 telling us it'd be another hour and a half because they'd had mechanical issues, and finally the crew showed up at 5. Andrew, Mafi, and Joe were great once they showed up and managed to get everything loaded and then unloaded quickly. Overall, I think they were worth it but it was very frustrating not having the office answer at all before the move. read more

Still no resolution. In addition to stealing our TV and miter saw stand utility vehicle, they also stole my husbands medication! At first we thought we just had not opened the boxes yet and that it would show up. But all boxes are now unboxed and opened and it was not found. Inside the same box with prescription meds, were a Water Pic, first aid kit , jewelry box, and silver wooden tray. I also know now that the truck (with stolen items) made it to the lot where it was parked overnight an hour and 10 minutes after the first truck. So it looks like our stolen items were likely "dropped off" somewhere enroute by their driver! They will not file a police report, and give me a copy of it. I heard one guy did get fired (from one of the other movers). But no cooperation from moving company. Won't call. Don't answer. I reported it to the police myself. Horrible company. Do not use. Our move from Fort Worth to Georgetown originally quoted under $3k for one truck and $700 more if second was needed. Later revised to $3360 since second was needed. We did our own packing. On moving day sceduled arrival was between 8 and 10AM. They arrived at 1:45. The packing and the driving back got close to 11pm so it was decided to unload early the next morning. They arrived with both trucks around 10am. When the second truck with bigger items was opened, our 55" TV in original box and a metal expandable work bench on wheels were missing. One of the workers thought the lock was tampered with. But noted the trucks were kept in a gated lot with access only by code. We had a receipt for he TV of $1192 and the bench was between $200-300 value. They offered us $800 off the move for the stolen items. BUT suddenly the move cost $4690 ;due to it taking 11 total hours instead of the 7 estimated. That doesn't even make sense. The drive to and from is 7 hours alone. !! So even with partial compensation for the stolen items, it was still a lot more than I estimated!! I hope they give me a copy of the police report and if they don't I'll file one. Oh and we got a 5% off for being first responders. The whole reason we went with this company was because we hoped it stood for integrity, and professionalism! We were moving from a storage facility in Kyle Texas to a storage shed on property in Gonzales Texas. Kiefer had told us there was one move booked before us on the day we were to move. Kiefer said our move would start at 12. The other move wasn't very big so they could possibly be at our storage facility at 11 AM. We live 45 minutes away so as not to keep the movers waiting we went to the storage facility at 10:45 AM where we sat until somebody finally showed up at 6:45 PM. The two movers were great, the administrative part Sucks!! The information that we were given is horrible. Do not book your move with firefighters. You never get a straight answer on anything a lot of times they don't answer the phone. They don't return calls you're making a big mistake if you get the firefighters movers. read more

I don't usually leave reviews, much less a bad one, but this company warrants one. I scheduled thinking I was getting firefighters with a side business or second career but that is not the case. I was contacted a couple of days before the move to see if they could add another mover to the job for just a little more and I thought it would be ok so that they could get done faster and out of the heat. They showed up with just 2 and the lead guy was on the phone , with the company, I assumed, because he didn't seem happy when he hung up. A third guy showed up after they started but it was too late for the lead guy to be in a good mood. He complained, a lot, about how the management doesn't know what they are doing or communicate well with the guys actually doing the move. I still had a few boxes to finish packing but all the big stuff was ready to go and he was mumbling about having to pack. (which they were not doing) When they moved the small entertainment table I had my tv on in the bedroom I heard the glass door fall out of it but that didn't seem to bother the mover. He didn't really worry about much of my stuff though. Legs came off my dresser but they claimed that they just fell off when they picked it up to move it. They seem to know how to pack a truck but have no clue, or really care, how to pack a storage unit. They packed it as things came off the truck and that left a ton of open space at the back of the unit with all the heavy furniture standing upright all the way to the doorway. It's a 10x15 unit and would've been plenty of room to pack so that I can get to the things I might need but I can't. Not only did they turn things on their side but they threw my bedframe on top of the items on end, like my dresser and armoire. I have tried reaching out to the company to see if they can help me rectify the situation but I have gotten nothing but crickets. I paid almost $400 more than the quote and I tipped the guys before I saw the mess they left. I have been back to the unit to see if there is any way I could fix it myself but that is impossible because of they way things are just thrown in the front. I also notice more legs from my dresser just sitting to the side like they were knocked off/broken during the move and, of course, I wasn't told about the damage. I had an old door that we have saved from my mother's childhood home and the glass shattered during the ride across town. Now, I have to pay another company to help my repack the storage unit since obviously they aren't willing to help. That'll probably be another $3-$400 to fix their screw up. On top of that, I had them drop off a couch at my mother's but didn't noticed for a few days that a foot on the couch was cracked in half and not sure it can be fixed. I tried this company last year for a move of 2 households into a 2/2. The good: they were on time, and packed the first room quick and easy. They also helped us doing a downpour, which delayed us a day. No problem, they couldn't safely move us and I want them safe. The awful: despite telling me it was a 1/1 complete apartment and 1 bedroom from a house, they only brought one truck, and left tons of stuff at my old place. We had to pack a lot in cars, weren't able to return and clear everything out even in a car. The really awful: The movers broke my furniture. They left my mirror dissembled off my dresser. They couldn't find the screws for mirror or head board. The bed frame wasn't put together, nor the headboard secured. My office chair came in with screws loose; these are company screws, so the chair is broken too. I lived with this for a year, and am just finally getting to fix it. With the guys to help and new chair, I am out $200 just correcting this move. I didn't complain, and we did tip, since everything else was great. They moved a heavy glass dining table up 1 fight no problem. Couch, tv etc all perfect condition. But my bedroom and the poor planning on one truck left me paying hundreds to the old place for clean out and hundreds to the runners fixing this move. 1 star for most of the stuff getting here. 1 star for their hard work and managing the storm. These "firefighters" broke our furniture, lost pieces of our furniture, would not or could not assemble easily assembled pieces of furniture, left crucial pieces of furniture at the old house, were rushing to get to the next the job and openly admitting it; and then asked for a tip after destroying and losing furniture. I don't blame the workers. They were friendly. But management refuses to call me back or refund a single dollar or admit any wrongdoing. ALL they were moving was some furniture and zero boxes of other items. And there were a very small number of parts for the furniture, and they lost and destroyed furniture. It was a very simple, small job, and they completely botched it. We paid over 500 dollars for the small job, and you could not have paid us any money to have to suffer through their laughable "moving", as it was in partly just destroying and tossing stuff into the ether. Who knows where those parts went. We didn't touch them, but somehow they got lost in the less than 2 mile truck drive to the destination. The workers were incentivized to rush and not care. That's what it seemed to me. Just get to the next job, next money. That's what I think the system is here. And that's management's fault. The way they communicated with me, it sounded like my complaints were quite typical for them. Not a big deal. Just another solid profit for destroying people's furniture. read more

I would not recommend using this company to move, but I have two positive comments: 1. I called the day before requesting one mattress bag for my bed. Nicole was very kind and said no problem. 2. The movers called ahead the morning of my move and arrived on time. And here are the negatives. They arrived in a UHAUL truck which should have been my clue they are not professional, but at this point, I was stuck. The movers did not handle my furniture with care. The biggest damage was a cracked mirror frame, but all my wood furniture received some sort of damage. Here are some other complaints: 1. They put packing tape on genuine leather couch and solid wood table. I did not observe them since I had to go to the destination for a delivery. When they arrived and I realized what they did, I was mortified. Who does not know you cannot put packing tape on genuine leather and real wood? After we brought this to the attention of the movers, they started to remove the residue. They wanted to use rubbing alcohol! NO! You do not do that on solid wood table. They completed my move, but they kept the clock going to try to fix the damage they caused! At this point I was so mad, I just wanted them out of my house. We took care of the residue on the couch. 2. They stepped on my washer; left a footprint. Seriously?! If it is in a tight area... you slowly pull it out and then remove the item, you don't step on it. 3. The mattress bag that I requested the day before was used, but since they did not know how to seal the bag, they put the packing tape around the mattress and did not seal the opening at the end. So what happened? The mattress slid out of the bag and quarter of the mattress was exposed. 4. They did not have all the necessary supplies to do their job. They kept asking us for a box cutter. They did not bring enough furniture pads even after providing an inventory of items and speaking to the movers prior to their arrival. Our Daughter and her Husband booked this company over 2 weeks prior to their moving to the Austin area. They also gave the company a $100 deposit. Our Daughter/Husband rented a U-Haul and hired another local company to load the truck. They have 2 young children (3 yoa and 4 mos.). The U-Haul had to be returned by 8PM in Austin. ATX was supposed to begin unloading the truck between 2-2:30PM. ATX never showed up and repeated calls to their office went unanswered. I left 3 messages on their voicemail as well. Finally, someone called our Daughter making excuses that they "were slammed today", etc. He told her he could get a couple of guys to show up within an hour or so. This was around 5:00PM.. Our Daughter told the guy to refund their deposit. He kept trying to negotiate a partial refund and they would show up hours later. It was explained to him that the truck had to be returned, etc. Finally, our Daughter's Husband got on the phone and demanded the refund. So, our Daughter and her Husband relied (thankfully) on Friends and great new neighbors to unload the truck with them. Apparently, no one from ATX has a phone or the ability to contact customers when they don't show up for jobs. In todays world, there is no excuse for this type of behavior or poor communication from ANY business. To make matters worse (in my opinion), they represent their company as "Firefighters". I want to say we liked this company, but I can't. With us moving 5 hours away, we were so excited to hire a company to come in and pack our entire house up, and then move it for us. We've done it before with a different company and it was amazing, but not this time around. After loading up all of our stuff, we were notified that they were able to get 95% of the house - but if we wanted them to get the rest, we would be paying an additional $2,000. (All of the remaining stuff could fit into a Uhaul which we will be doing this next go round). We were reimbursed $180. Immediately after this company left, we had our cleaners there ready to deep clean our house for pictures, only to be told that our AC wasn't working. So, we had our AC company come out, and they informed us that the copper piping on our unit located in our attic had been cut. Whoever did this, left the pipe cutter still on the unit. Mind you, we had an inspection on our house less than two weeks ago with pictures showing that our unit was working and no pipe cutter in site. These movers were the only people in our house since then and the whole two days they were in my house, not once were we informed that the AC wasn't working. Not only that, they pulled so hard getting things out of the bottom of our sink, that they messed up the piping and now we also get to pay to have that fixed. This company packed and moved my household into storage last May and it was a breeze. I was contacted beforehand, they answered calls immediately. This week I had scheduled them to move my stuff to my new home, finally!! Called two days before to confirm, no answer, no returned call. I made over 7 phone calls, and never heard back. On Moving day. I received a call from one of the movers. He had been in charge of my first move and it finally put my mind at ease. My things have been delivered. I'm in the process of unpacking, G and 2 Joshes are great. The crew that actually do the work are amazing. The office staff leave a lot to be desired. I want me to provide some initial context for my review. This company came highly recommended by a friend. He had a great experience and was thrilled with the service and price. Individual crews have a significant impact on the quality of a move. With that said, our moving crew was substandard, and we are very dissatisfied with the experience. Scheduling and promptness: Scheduling over the phone was easy. Movers arrived on time as scheduled. Pricing: Per hour pricing. For two guys and a truck, $130/hour. Equipment: Our movers arrived in a U-Haul truck and didn't have any professional equipment. When they arrived I should have turned them away, but we had to move that day. Also, they didn't even have tape guns. Rather, they cut the strong light brown packing tape with their teeth. Care in moving: Careless and damaging! At the very beginning, I emphasized to the guys that I didn't care how long it took for the move. All I cared about was protecting several pieces of expensive furniture. We have a very expensive solid cherry dining set and other nice furniture. The movers treated the furniture badly. They dented our solid cherry china cabinet, tore the edge of a leather sofa, cracked the frame to an antique mirror that sits on a dresser, and damaged other items. That damage occurred after asking them to add padding and even allowing them to use my set of professional moving pads. Further, they applied the light brown and very sticky packing tape directly to lacquer finished furniture and our leather sofa. When we asked them to clean the packing tape residue on the table, they spent about 20 minute doing so. And billed us for that time! We waited to post this review because our initial draft was fuming with anger at ATX Firefighters because of their lack of care and their greed in charging us for correcting some of the damage they caused. It took us about 3 hours to completely clean the tape residue of other items of furniture. Also, they scratched the door casing in one room in our new place and basically said the damage was impossible to avoid. It wasn't impossible. Rather they were rough with our furniture and showed a lack of care. Value: The actual price of the move exceeded the quote, and they billed us for time spent attempting to correct damage they caused. Given these factors, they are actually expensive. And I question the integrity of any company that charges to try to correct damage it causes. Misc.: (1) Don't let the name deceive you. The actual movers may not be firefighters. Our movers were not firefighters (we asked). (2) Even after causing damage, the movers solicited a tip. read more

Horrible company! Don't trust them. First, never trust a company that treats their workers poorly. I could write a novel, but I will summarize. We made our reservation over a month in advance with Keifer (sp). A week out he called us to ask for a favor. They wanted to do another "quick" move and asked if we could move our time to mid afternoon. Trying to be kind, we agreed. Turns out this move was on the other side of town which then made them over 2 hours late from our NEW time. I will say the young men were SO kind and apologetic. When we contacted Keifer, he bumped it up to his manager, Ashley. She rationalized this by saying "you get an extra man for free." Ok. I guess. You all are the ones who told us NOT to when we asked if it was a 3 man job. We changed our time for you. You sent 3 men to the other job and they were over 2 hours late, so they just all came together...but you want to call it a "gift?" Sure. Then, the move. Not only did the move take significantly longer than expected but Ashley then told us "that's the normal time for that amount of things." Ok so you all either lied initially or poorly train your people, because not only did he tell us less time but also with one less guy. The movers were at our place until past 11 pm and we had to work the next morning. This would be fine if we would have planned for it, but we are both executives and have to PLAN. To make it worse, there's a hole in our door of our new build, the walls are all scuffed, they DID NOT FINISH THE JOB. But, at that point it was 11:30pm and those poor men had been working since 7am. They didn't even get a break to eat, so we even fed them. AND, their cars got locked into the lot bc their lovely employer double booked them to get more money but couldn't wait on them so they could get home in their vehicles after a LONG day. Instead, the employer went home since it was so late and called the workers to just let them know they wouldn't be able to get their cars! When we called them to rectify the issue, she (the manager) first kept defaulting to "you got an extra man." Ma'am. That was your decision after your employee said we didn't need to, called us because YOU wanted to either double book OR we had to move our date. Then Ashley defaulted to saying "well I gave you a 10% discount already." Um WRONG that was a PROMOTION you were running on Facebook to get business and we brought it up BEFORE we booked. Now we see why you have to run promotions...you're terrible at what you do, abuse your employees, and give horrible service when you mess up. Kelly is now ignoring our calls and emails. Their company was too, until we blocked our number. They're saying she was out sick. Not too sick to post our check today. And, their sales rep is blocking us from speaking with her. Beware. These movers broke my furniture and caused over $2,000 worth of damage that that they wouldn't pay for and almost cost me the sale of my house. They are nice guys that, at the time, mean well. Nick and his crew were hired for 2 hours of Sept 23rd to move some furniture and my fridge into the garage so I could sell my items before my move. Simple things that I would expect professional movers to be able to do. Kitchen table and chairs, couches, a fridge etc. First, they broke my granite kitchen table by grabbing the legs instead of the top of the table as the were positioning it to go out of the door. The second mistake was the costliest though. After they moved my fridge into the garage Nick and team either forgot to turn off the water or they broke the faucet to the fridge causing a small slow leak. On October 10th (the day before closing) the new buyers discovered the leak and was going to back out of the sale. I had to hire a plumber (remotely, as I had moved out of the house shortly after hiring the movers) to fix the faucet and check for other damage (very expensive) as well as concede $2k for damage repair just to save the sale. I called Ashley Melton (she seems to be the one who handles all the scheduling and business transactions) to let her know what happened. I even sent her pictures and gave her the number of the plumber involved in order for them to hear about the damage from the source. She emailed me back and refused to take any responsibility for any of the damage claiming incorrectly that the plumber said that these leaks are common when the faucet goes a "long time" without being "exercised" I called the plumber and he disputed this. In fact, he said if it's so common, how come they didn't make sure it wasn't leaking or at minimum give me the heads up? The plumber went on to say that "if it were my business, I would reimburse you for your damage right away". Unfortunately, Ashley insisted that they were not the cause of the leak. Strange, as everything was fine until they moved the fridge. ATX firefighter moving refused any responsibility. They didn't even offer to pay a portion of the damage. Terrible experience: no care, no compassion, no help. Ashley, please try and find a solution for customers in the future and don't wait till 2 hours after you're scheduled to finally tell us you can't do anything. We get it you had a guy injured, but we shouldn't have to call you to find out that you can't do what we paid you to do. And one injury shouldn't cause you to use up all your resources. Full Story: We scheduled these guys to help move us out of our apartment and into a house a few miles across town. They were supposed to come between 12 and 5 PM. We waited for five hours and heard nothing. We called them, and after going to voicemail, they called us back saying they'd had one guy out because of an injury so they'd be coming at 7. We waited another 2 hours and we get a call from a different lady, Ashley, saying they wouldn't be able to help us. I asked if she could get us in contact with another company that could help us as we had all of our stuff packed up at our new place and only our furniture remaining at our apartment. She simply said that she "expected bad reviews" and that she couldn't help us at all. read more

These gentlemen did a great job! They were on time, really nice, super helpful, and a lot of fun to talk with. Well, okay, I did most of the talking. Got all of the items I needed moved without damage and were very patient as a number of things needed to go downstairs, upstairs, left, right - where does it go? You know the drill. Andrew, Josh, and another young man ( don't remember his name) were awesome. They are extremely proficient and moved my 3 bedroom household in 4.25 hours. In addition, very polite and respectful. Nothing was damaged or broken during the move. I highly recommend them. read more

These guys are fantastic!!! I can not say enough good things! They were the nicest, fastest, movers!! I wish I could give them 10 stars! I think the first company I price checked quoted me around $2,000 for helping us move from Austin to Leander. These guys got it done for less than half of that. They took heavy furniture up stairs, didn't hit the walls, didn't complain, just got the job done. I would absolutely use them again anytime I move. Highly recommend!!! read more

We hired ATX Firefighter Moving to move some larger items from my Dad's apartment at a senior living community to our garage. Their estimate was very fair with no hidden fees. We had contacted the Salvation Army to come in before the movers to pick up items we knew we did not want to keep. Less than an hour before the movers showed up, Salvation Army refused to pick up our items (they said they don't go into places where you have to answer health questions). ATX Firefighter Movers were helpful and gracious and moved ALL of the furniture, etc to our garage. They could have nickled and dimed us for adding so much to our initial quote, but they only added a charge for the extra time involved. They helped make a very stressful, hectic event go a little more smoothly and for that we are very grateful. We highly recommend them read more
