I've been to a couple of Tiger Sugar's in the past, but I never really found a drink on their menu…read morethat was perfect and not too sweet for me. But from what I ordered recently, I was pretty satisfied and finished up my drink quickly. I ordered the Earl Grey Milk Tea with boba, 25% sweetness and 25% ice. The sweetness level was exactly what I liked in a boba drink. The boba pearls were nice and chewy. I didn't realize that I could get 3 toppings for 99 cents altogether, so next time I would get pudding too. Last time I got the Mango Sago drink at another location and it was just too sweet for me. I should've known because I couldn't adjust the sweetness and drinks tend to be too sweet for me in general. However the Earl Grey Milk Tea was such a great option for me. My boyfriend got the Taro Pudding Milk Tea. It was delicious. He couldn't adjust the sweetness, but I didn't think it was too sweet to enjoy. The taro pudding was delicious. There wasn't much space to sit inside. There was a large group at a seated in the middle, but we managed to get a table to ourselves at the very end. Inside the shop, they only have three tables. Service was quick, wait time wasn't too bad. There is a bathroom inside but it ended up being out of service when we went. Overall, I liked my drink. The menu is pretty extensive and there's a bunch of options to choose from.

TLDR: I love their bubble tea but won't be coming back. Why bother having a storefront if you can't…read morestaff it properly and safely? Twice during the weekday lunch hour I've stopped by Tiger Sugar, stood at the counter and been completely ignored by the staff seated in the office. The first time I was solo, and came in on a Wednesday at around 1:15pm. I could see a man seated in the office looking at a computer as I stood at the counter. I'm short so I yelled "hello?" in case he couldn't see me. After a few minutes of doing this, I gave up because I had to go back to work. He never even looked up. The second time I came in with my spouse, who is tall. We could both plainly see a woman seated in the same spot at the desk computer. This was a Thursday at around 12:45. Again no acknowledgement, no way no notify her other than screaming over the front end music. Once again, limited time on a lunch break, we left empty handed. WTF x 2 to the business owner that there is no front entrance notification: 1) This store is downtown and the majority of your business is going to be office workers, probably around weekday lunchtime. A business owner might want to plan for that if their employees are also going to be taking their break at about this time. 2) If your solo-working employee can't hear people coming in the front entrance, even shouting from the counter, in a part of town with a high population of individuals who are under the influence and have unpredictable behavior, what does that say about safety at work? Is there not even a front door camera with a feed next to the computer monitor in the office? Those employees are sitting ducks. This place is a WCB nightmare waiting to happen! You've lost my business permanently Tiger Sugar.

It's no secret - I love bubble tea. I love the sweetness of the taste, the texture of the chewy…read moresago balls, and seemingly endless choices of flavours. As a result, I was very excited to see that a new bubble tea shop was opening, right on 97 street in the heart of Chinatown no less. The Bubble Tea Café sells a variety of bubble drinks, coffees, milkshakes, and slushes. A limited menu of Asian meals and snacks is also available. The price for a bubble tea is slightly lower than I have experienced in other places. My taro bubble tea tasted exactly as I wanted - sweet and milky. On another visit, I had a chocolate milkshake. The serving size was slightly smaller than I expected, but again, it was very rich. There are a few tables in the café, and service is very friendly. If you find yourself strolling down Chinatown and crave a refreshing drink (and there are a few hot drinks available that should be perfect for our coming cold weather), definitely stop into The Bubble Tea Café.

What a cute little cafe on 97th! This was the first time I've been here. And though I only ordered…read morea couple of papaya bubble teas, I watched the many dishes ordered here look and smell delicious. The bubble teas were great and reasonably priced, $3~3.50, though they are smaller than other bubble tea places. I also found that there were some ice chunks on the bottom that prevented you from sucking up the last bit of juice. A minor inconvenience. It's a very small place, 6 or 7 tables, but it looks like a great place for a quick lunch or dinner. It was kind of neat to watch the Hong Kong shows on the TV. Would definitely be back again to try the food. I really liked it here, giving it 3.5 stars.
