Edmonton has recently seen a surge of new bubble tea joints and I am super excited that The Alley finally opened here, especially on the southside, as many bubble tea shops often generally end up centered around the Whyte Ave area. All of their drinks are super gorgeous and instagrammable. And after having stopped in a couple times, my favourite drinks are the Brown Sugar Deerioca series, which are their signature drinks, specifically the Deerioca Fever. It isn't overly sweet, and can be made with either fresh milk or soy, if you prefer. It can also be served both hot and cold, making perfect in any weather! On your first visit, the menu might be a bit overwhelming and cryptic as the names of the various drinks are not always obvious; however, the staff are super friendly, knowledgeable, and ready to answer any questions about the drinks! The cafe has a decent amount of space and has a nice ambience. And being in Windermere, there is ample parking, and there is no need to worry about finding street parking or keeping time on how long you've been parked, making it the perfect place to catch up or hang out with friends!

Another great Taiwanese bubble tea import. We decided to visit their Brewery district location. What makes the Alley special is their in house tapioca (deerioca)...delicious and great flavour (brown sugar), and also cane sugar syrup. They have a wide selection of drinks that I will need to work my way through. I ordered their Deerioca Fever (the lady told me it was their most popular drink). It's milk tea, brown sugar, and their Deerioca pearls. I really enjoyed the pearls but thought the milk tea flavour could have been a lot more intense (my personal preference). I'll definitely be back to try their other items. The interior is well decorated and has a nice ambiance.

The Alley is probably my favorite BBT spot here in Edmonton. The quality of their drinks is unparalleled. Their house made lychee jelly is a must (if you like toppings). whenever I order their bbt I never feel gross afterwards!

Excellent as always. Although, people are waiting outside after ordering... i though there must be a better way to organize them? Oh well, lets hope this pandemic is over soon.

This was our first time trying The Alley. We decided to try their signature deerocia bubble tea. Parking was difficult to find as there is construction happening next door. There was no line when we went so I was able to download the app and order right away. The server was able to make a couple recommendations and the drinks came quickly. I will definitely be returning to try their other tea drinks!

I often visit this place because of ambiance. The price is reasonable. Great selections of milk teas.

    Review Highlights - The Alley

The signature deerioca (?) drink tastes like milk with brown sugar, and the hot purple rice chocolate drink is yummy.

TLDR: I love their bubble tea but won't be coming back. Why bother having a storefront if you can't…read morestaff it properly and safely? Twice during the weekday lunch hour I've stopped by Tiger Sugar, stood at the counter and been completely ignored by the staff seated in the office. The first time I was solo, and came in on a Wednesday at around 1:15pm. I could see a man seated in the office looking at a computer as I stood at the counter. I'm short so I yelled "hello?" in case he couldn't see me. After a few minutes of doing this, I gave up because I had to go back to work. He never even looked up. The second time I came in with my spouse, who is tall. We could both plainly see a woman seated in the same spot at the desk computer. This was a Thursday at around 12:45. Again no acknowledgement, no way no notify her other than screaming over the front end music. Once again, limited time on a lunch break, we left empty handed. WTF x 2 to the business owner that there is no front entrance notification: 1) This store is downtown and the majority of your business is going to be office workers, probably around weekday lunchtime. A business owner might want to plan for that if their employees are also going to be taking their break at about this time. 2) If your solo-working employee can't hear people coming in the front entrance, even shouting from the counter, in a part of town with a high population of individuals who are under the influence and have unpredictable behavior, what does that say about safety at work? Is there not even a front door camera with a feed next to the computer monitor in the office? Those employees are sitting ducks. This place is a WCB nightmare waiting to happen! You've lost my business permanently Tiger Sugar.

I've been to a couple of Tiger Sugar's in the past, but I never really found a drink on their menu…read morethat was perfect and not too sweet for me. But from what I ordered recently, I was pretty satisfied and finished up my drink quickly. I ordered the Earl Grey Milk Tea with boba, 25% sweetness and 25% ice. The sweetness level was exactly what I liked in a boba drink. The boba pearls were nice and chewy. I didn't realize that I could get 3 toppings for 99 cents altogether, so next time I would get pudding too. Last time I got the Mango Sago drink at another location and it was just too sweet for me. I should've known because I couldn't adjust the sweetness and drinks tend to be too sweet for me in general. However the Earl Grey Milk Tea was such a great option for me. My boyfriend got the Taro Pudding Milk Tea. It was delicious. He couldn't adjust the sweetness, but I didn't think it was too sweet to enjoy. The taro pudding was delicious. There wasn't much space to sit inside. There was a large group at a seated in the middle, but we managed to get a table to ourselves at the very end. Inside the shop, they only have three tables. Service was quick, wait time wasn't too bad. There is a bathroom inside but it ended up being out of service when we went. Overall, I liked my drink. The menu is pretty extensive and there's a bunch of options to choose from.
