PRO: All of our belongings eventually arrived at our new home in good condition. CONS: Final price was nearly twice as much as original quote. Definitely think I was scammed. Pick-up date/time kept getting pushed back which meant that I was stuck at home for 2+ days waiting for them. Communication provided by company was poor and at times rude. Movers who picked up our belongings at our old home smelled of weed, and didn't finish the job until past midnight, disturbing the neighbors and requiring us to stay up late. Additionally, even though they knew they would be transporting a piano, they did not arrive with the necessary equipment. Movers who dropped off our belongings were more professional, but again, didn't finish the job until nearly 11:00 pm, which doesn't set us off on the right foot with our new neighbors. They quote low price ($800), take deposit ($300) then declare that it's not a deposit but a booking fee and charge the full price ($800). not the balance ($500) threatening to put your car in storage untill you pay. Deceptive pricing and business practices. When my elderly parents needed to ship their car 1/2 way across the country, Quick Ship was one of 10 service providers that I reached out to. At $775, their quote was very competitive and Neil was very responsive but that's where the positive experience ended. Shortly after receiving this quote and booking a truck to pick up the car on a Saturday, Neil contacted me and explained that the truck that was scheduled to pick up the car would be delayed by a few days due to some mechanical issues but there was a far better truck with tracking and other features available to pick up the car on Friday (a day early!) but this would cost $100. I hesitated and he agreed to pay $50 for the better truck bringing my total to $825 ($775 + $50). I agreed because we needed the car and Neil then asked for $175 which needed to be paid to the driver to secure him, which I paid in advance based on Neil's explanation that this would go towards the total. Once this payment was made, Neil sent me the driver's contact information but no advanced tracking or any of the other features he mentioned. The driver picked up the car from the pickup location but due to weather, the delivery was delayed (which is understandable). Long story short, the driver expected $850 upon delivery and not $650, which should have been the remainder of the payment. I reached out to Neil several times but he refused to adjust the shipping fee and stay true to his word. Lessons learned? Yes, there were a few but I can't help but feel taken advantage of. It's unfortunate because Neil was so responsive throughout the process but he failed to live by his word and honor his verbal quote. This has been the worst experience ever! They don't provide updates and Jason doesn't even properly answer questions. You get "I appreciated" or "sure" or "I already told you everything" and then says "I keep asking the same questions". Well if I would have been provided the answers the first time I would not have to keep asking. I had to reach out to Alaska Marine Transport to inquire on my vehicle and even they were more helpful than Jason. It was not until I sent an e-mail to Jason and Neil expressing my frustration for the lack of information being provided and that I will be submitting all text messages and e-mail to the Better Business Bureau is when I finally got my answers. This has been a nightmare working with this company. They arranged transport for a car I purchased in MI going to NC on a specific day. That never happened and they never called to say it wasn't going to happen. Evidently the carrier was in an accident. So I cancelled everything with them. Had to call 3 times to get it unlisted so that I could use another company. They said it would be 24-48 to return my deposit which by the way took seconds to get it to them. It's now 4 days later and still no return of the deposit, accounting is dealing with it they keep saying. No one I have spoken to has a real good command of the English language which makes me wonder if the services are outsourced.
