There was a good amount of people but it didn't feel crowded. There first stop was a little gift shop with and information desk, snack bar, and bathrooms. From there the trail to the forest giants was super easy to follow. After walking to the giants, I drove the path to see the Tin Man and canopy walks. I love how accessible all the big attractions were and how beautiful the forests are. It's worth stopping in if you're visiting the area or a local!

After an unusually cold winter, we recently had a day warm enough day to return to Bernheim, and we chose a shorter trail due to time constraints. We hiked the Knob Top Trail and really enjoyed the peacefulness on the trail (we saw no other people on this trail today). The Knob Top is not one of the more popular trails, but we really enjoyed it. It is rated by Bernheim as "Difficult," but I would say it is moderate. It can be hiked as an in and out (this is what we chose to do) or as a connector between "Two Ponds Loop' and "Lake Nevin Loop." It is a short trail, only 0.5 mi in and 0.5 miles out. The terrain is packed dirt, and as expected, included tree roots, rocks, mounds, ruts, and other obstacles. The hike is a gradual incline to the top (Inspiration Knob) where there is a pretty, green, decommissioned water tank. This was a perfect, short hike to ease into hiking season! Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash. Photos added to my original review of Bernheim Forest.

There was also live music outdoors, where people could enjoy food, wine, and beer in a lovely setting. This place is truly charming and relaxing. Now I know I've found a hidden jam. Every visit feels fresh and different--sometimes we come to stroll the gardens slowly and soak in the seasonal blooms, other times just to let the kids run and enjoy the open spaces. The grounds are gorgeous and so thoughtfully designed, with little nooks and trails that invite you to pause, notice, and breathe. There's a sense of calm and restoration here that's hard to find anywhere else. My entire family loves coming, and it's become one of our go-to places whenever we want to recharge or spend time together outdoors. Whether you're a gardener, a parent, or someone who just loves natural beauty, I can't recommend Yew Dell Gardens enough. It's a gem for the whole community.

There are multiple greenhouses on the property. I came in with a plan of what I needed and of course, ended up leaving with more. From speaking with the owner (Steve) and Mel (who may be the manager?), I learned that they have plans for expansion and they hand grow most, if not all, of their flowers and plants. I haven't seen flowers this beautiful at any of the other big box stores around. All of the employees have been friendly and have had great recommendations for me. I'm trying a few new flowers this year because of these recommendations. I look forward to their expansion/move and will continue to shop here for my landscaping needs.

I, like many, am doing a lot of gardening while staying "healthy at home" and this is just what I needed. Plants were competitively priced, typically based on size of pot and if perennial or annual. A lot of plants are unmarked and not priced but there were MANY employees around the greenhouses to help answers questions. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. There are wagons to carry plants and the staff will assist in taking them to your car. They have trees, shrubs, tropical plants, succulents, traditional annuals, unique perennials, soil, fertilizer. They accept cards but everything is hand calculated. The place is family run and give it a charming experience. The location is slightly tucked away, gravel lot parking, some odds and ends all over but a completely enjoyable place and experience. I will definitely be going again.

This started off as just an island that neighbors just took care of and maintenance. My folks have lived here for almost 30 years and the island has had several different looks and continues to grow. It has always been maintained by the neighborhood folks. A few years back a long time resident John Gibbs passed away and they took several of the stones and trees donated at his funeral and placed in the island. They named the area after him. Over the years unfortunately a few other neighbors and loved ones have passed on and there are favorite trees, garden items and funeral donations from them out in the island to pay homage to there lives. In the late spring and early summer the Creape Myrtle bush, the lace lead maple and double knockout rose bushes all bloom and its is a very pretty sight to see. This is in my parents neighborhood so I've had a helping hand quite a bit on this project/park. Recently I built a post and buried it to put up an officially memorial sign. My oldest daughters are gonna paint some rocks in honor here soon to place in the garden. Even though I haven't lived here in almost 15 years it still holds a special place for me and I'll probably continue to visit here and help maintain until my last days. On nice days you will see local residents sitting out in the garden on the cast iron seats in the center. There is a playground down the street down a big hill so a lot of people will walk it for exercise and come sit in the garden to catch a fresh breathe of air after walking back up the big steel hill. It's also a popular spot that parents wait for there kids to get on and off school buses at. All in all this a beautiful sentiment and super cool and unique place. This past winter I helped my folks put Christmas lights in there and it turned out really nice. I think it is something we will continue to do. Some other neighbors and My parents Have got some pretty cool ideas in the near feature they want to implement so that the memorial park island remains upkept and keeps growing and honoring there fallen neighbors.

The crew that did the installation was extremely professional...true craftsmen. It took several days to finish the project and everyday the area was cleaned up and their equipment laid to the side out of the way. Michael made frequent visits during the installation to make sure everything was going as planned and to answer any questions. It has been about a year now and the only problem we have had is a paver that sunk down into the sand because our daughter accidentally parked her car on the edge. We called to have it repaired and Michael came out personally and fixed it at no charge even tho it was our fault! Our calls were always returned in a very timely manner and all questions/concerns were promptly addressed. He even worked with us to get the best possible price. Our patio is gorgeous and made a beautiful wedding venue for my husband and I several months later! Thanks Michael and the crew!
