Both the prepared foods and the candy and novelty items felt quite expensive. The shop was fairly crowded during my visit on a Tuesday, which made it a bit difficult to move around and browse comfortably. It did start to feel a little overwhelming at times, though it is easy to see why it draws a crowd given the sheer variety and unique selection. My favorite was the Hammond coconut crème bar! QT is also a safe place so if you are ever in a situation where the need arises you can go to a QT and the staff is trained in how to help or refer out to who can help. Among the normal gas station and convenience items, the addition of QT kitchens at this location really upped the ante on food choices here. momma brought me to the car wash with manual hoses to clean a carpet where i vomited. she…read morerecommended the specific car wash because the drive in stations have clips on the wall for hanging the carpet, rather than draping it, such as over a fence. also, the manual hose features an adjustable setting that sprays a concentrated soap and water solution that eliminates the need for finding a carpet specific cleaner, although i did not personally check that the setting specifically mentions safe use on carpet. nonetheless, a coat of the soap solution and a rinse on the water setting, removed all visible remnants of vomit. also, while leaving the car wash, momma saw that the far left station had four clips on the wall, rather than two as the far right station we used had.

There are a ton of pumps on the fuel island which is great being on such a busy street. I like how they have a QT Kitchen inside and can make custom coffee drinks and sandwiches or a yummy pizza. Given the high volume of customers sometimes the floors are a bit dirty of the bathrooms unkept, but are never just diagusting. It's one thing to be busy and need to catch up versus neglect.

There is a nice view of the city, skyline and interesting lights and various different people in the area. Would recommend the chicken sandwich combo, however, would probably recommend to request the mayonnaise on the side as it definitely was seeping out the bottom of the sandwich and the napkin was much needed. Disappointed they did not have french fries so we were not able to try them, but they substituted onion rings and the tater tots which both were good. Tater tots could've probably use some seasoning or salt however they were cooked perfect. The staff was polite and helpful. We can definitely see ourselves stopping here again.

Encroaching on a seemingly crowded market can be tough but somehow Howdy feels like an already-established diner. While many newer burger places attempt to overwhelm the consumer, Howdy Burger's approach seems to be keeping things simple and delivering what the people want while staying true to the "burger joint" identity. I've had Howdy Burger 2 or 3 times through the years. My first visit was likely in/at Mother Road Market but a more recent visit was on October 29th (2025). In the midst of an economic stall (the federal government was shut down for 4 weeks at that point), eating out seemed like a luxury. I visited around 2pm for lunch. The weather was chilly and the staff was readily available. I was greeted and I browsed the menu for about 2mins before ordering. I ended up getting a single burger & rodeo fries. Afterwards, me & the lady cashier had a brief conversation about the state of the world as business was slower than usual. The restaurant isn't huge but it was well maintained. I sat near the West windows and the food came out shortly after. The highlight of the food was easily the burger itself. It was a decent size, the bread was soft, and the patty was just thick enough. Each bite was equally satisfying as they didn't hold back on the toppings. I will say that the fries are pretty standard, even with the extra toppings. I don't think the Rodeo Fries are worth wild but it didn't hurt to try. Lastly, I LOVE the variety of sauces they offer and the staff are happy to add them directly onto the sandwich or place them on the side. I've since returned to have the Fried Chicken Sandwich and it was just as good, if not better, than most famed chicken sandwich spots. I wasn't familiar with Howdy for a while and, as mentioned, there are many other places to get a cheeseburger, sandwich and/or fries. But what I like about Howdy is that they don't try too hard, they know what sells and they offer great service. Considering the price, consistency in their products and good people behind the counter, Howdy Burger is good enough to replace your favorite burger chain and/or fast food spot.
