Thank you Weymouth for having the South Shore's worst intersection (Columbian Square) and for offering us Butts and Bets II and Jonathan the Master of Food. Thank you for having the best rubbish service ever (they take anything and everything). I also enjoy knowing that I can put anything outside of my house and know that it will be taken within minutes. Thank you to the Weymouth youths who smashed my pumpkins even though I was standing in the driveway. At least I don't have to throw them out myself. You would have had five stars if it wasn't for your overzealous school maintenance workers who decimate our decades-old grapevine twice in one year, just so the kids would be safe walking to school and free from ticks (because ticks apparently live grapes).

Parking is a bit cramped; there's lots of smokers hanging about outside; the inside is filled with people waiting in what seems like an eternal queue. When you enter, there will be a kiosk to your right-- use that to "check-in", either for an appointment or as a walk-in. There's no "can I just ask you a quick question?" here. Use the kiosk. There's not much to entertain you, just one TV screen that shows announcements (Have you applied for Medicare today?). No ambient elevator music. Bring a book or something to quietly entertain yourself. Don't play music videos over speakerphone or carry on a lengthy conversation while in the lobby. Security will come out and politely ask you to take it outside. I went to the SSA in Hanover on a Wednesday around 11:15AM. Didn't give myself much leeway there. But they TAKE PEOPLE until they close-- they don't kick those in the lobby out after 12PM. The kiosk must stop giving tickets/numbers after that time. I was taken back probably around noon (45 minute wait). The woman who helped me was super friendly and efficient. When she didn't know "for sure" the answers to my questions, she looked them up. Once she was satisfied with her research, I was able to get the paperwork completed that I needed. Super happy to have a Social Security Administration office so close to my home-- and central to many others.

I went and got the library director because it got so bad and she said to me "The library is noisy you should have brought headphones." Seriously! The library isn't noisy your workers are! And nobody expects silence but we expect it to be relatively quiet so we can hear ourselves think. Nobody was making any noise but the workers at the front desk being obnoxiously loud. Then she told me "This isnt a college library." Lady I am 30 years old but thanks for the compliment.

The Firefighters had one of their Fire Trucks for the number of area Residents to see first hand the fully equipped Fire Engine #3. They were allowed to climb on board the drivers seat, inspect all the open compartments used for firefights! Even many could wear the complete uniform that could weigh up to 80 pounds! This can show how our firefighters have to deal with heavy equipment and firefighting apparatus's to fight fires in the City of Quincy. I'm sure if need be they would assist our cities neighbors that border Quincy! These Firemen who came to be with our residents and talk and demonstrate what our First Responders truly put their lives on the line to protect us all! Many of the Firefighters made this day a learning experience for us all! The respect of these Firefighters deserves our heartfelt gratitude and we Thank Each One who attended today! I was very impressed of the brotherhood bond these firefighters had for eachother! The parents of children were so happy to see how the Firefighters related them! I learned and have a bigger respect from today's demonstration! Councilor Richard Ash along with Ward 2 Civic Association has my support and my admiration for constantly bringing residents together like events like this to educate and entertain us all! I also added the jump house, which was a big hit. We were able to unplug it when it came time for our arts and craft for the kids, and plugged it back in when we were done with the activities. We were able to set up the tables the way we wanted so that, we can use the center for the games and activities we had planned. I booked it with Ann who is the Marketing associate, she is very professional and friendly, we stayed in contact via email up about 48 hours prior to my event. We went over the contract the day I signed, and a few days before my event to go over everything such as rules and the start/end time. I met with Frank the facilities Manager in the beginning and at the end of my event, he was also very professional and friendly. Overall the party was great, many people reached out to me on info so they can plan future events at this location. If you want to deal with professional, friendly people I'd definitely say book here. Last thing to keep in mind if you plan on setting up decor/balloons you will need to add additional time to your contract for setting up and also for cleaning up at the end of your event.

After calling 20+ places, the Community House answered promptly and worked efficiently to ensure we could have the party less than two days later. The gym was a perfect place to hold a party for kids. They were able to run around and play out of the toy closet. We were also grateful for the chairs and tables that were made available for no extra charge. I'll definitely be remembering them for future parties and would recommend them without hesitation.

The center is based on a gas station, Dunkin Donuts, Walgreens, a few other small shops, and this library. Now, I was looking forward to a great experience at the Norfolk Public Library. I needed to print a few things out, and thought I'd stop by before going to the amazing book sale this library has annually, as I go to it every year, and it is always amazing. I may a day of going to this sale, as the book sale this library puts on every year is always amazing. Speaking of the book sale, I would rate that at 5 stars. It is, in my opinion, triple-tied with Natick & Auburndale as the best book sale in Massachusetts. It occurs at the DPW Garage on Medway Branch Road, in April every year, presented by the Friends of this Library. Anyway, upon entering the library, it was actually quite nice. It seemed somewhat new, super clean, and a large variety of books, DVD's, and a huge children's section for such a small town. As I said before, I stopped at the library to print some things out (as I don't have (but should) a printer at home anymore), and was greeted by John at the reference desk. John was friendly and kind, but simply, disappeared right as I got to one of the computers. Since I don't live in Norfolk, and patronize one of my favorite libraries in Dedham, I have a MLN library card, not in the Norfolk network. I tried to find John, and then just went to the front desk. It was crowded, with one woman working and about 3 people in line waiting to check out books and some DVD's. Long story short (well, it might be too late for that, but whatever), it took me about 10 minutes to tell her I needed a guest pass, and then after waiting an additional 10 minutes for her to come over to the reference area, I just left. I have NEVER been treated so poorly at a public library. Normally, I have only good experiences at libraries (except for the Westwood Public Library, and now here), but this left me disgusted with the staff at the Norfolk Public Library. If you need a library in the Norfolk area, go to either the Walpole Public Library, or the Franklin Public Library, dependent upon which side of town you are on. This is NOT what a library should be like. 2 stars.
