Dr. Hassan is exceedingly good. The dental hygienist who attends to me, Sammie (or maybe Sammy), is exceedingly good. Both are excellent communicators and handle their instruments and my teeth with competence and care. The staff managing the checkins and checkouts are always a pleasure to work with. In person and on the phone. Stephanie is particularly fun to talk with. Everyone's time management is excellent. I have been fortunate to have insurance that keeps my out-of-pocket expenses very low, so I've had no billing issues. The office is clean, well lit, and olfactorily stable. I am happy that I chose Virginia Dental Center.

He continued to say that he does so to ensure other patients feel comfortable! As for the fillings he completed on my teeth, two seem fine so far, but the third is very uncomfortable, with food getting stuck in between the teeth there all the time! I do not recommend this doctor to anyone. I'm very disappointed I wasted my time and money here.

It's really rare to experience an office where all staff members are kind, helpful, and friendly, but that is this office. From the admin person to the front desk staff to the hygienists to the dentist herself, this is an office that truly cares for the kids and their families. All the staff are all positive and supportive. The office is very clean and conducive to kids, with tvs in the ceiling, toys in the waiting room, and kids decor throughout. There is a dry erase board where each kids name is written to welcome them, a very nice touch. Each kid gets a goody bag at the end and a token which can be used on the toy vending machines in the lobby. This is a HUGE hit with the kids! They usually get little jewelry trinkets or toys that they get excited about. One time the staff gave them balloons which was sweet. The dentist herself is very kind and gentle and thorough with the kids. She'll take time to answer questions and explain things. The same go for all the hygienists here. I always get a good vibe when coming to my kids dental appointment!

Just this month, she has decided to drop Metlife. This appears to be a pattern -- a pattern of dropping some of the more common insurance carriers. I do not know for how long it has been going on, but it causes chaos and unpredictability around a part of a young child's life that is already scary and confusing. This is arrogant and, and it sends a perhaps unintentional signal that her team possibly care only about the wealthiest members of the Arlington community who can afford to bear the burden of this unpredictability. It forces busy families to scramble to find a new dentist for their child -- and I fear it can cause harm to children who develop a bond of trust with one building and staff to be migrated to another. So, pray tell, how do Metlife families at your practice explain this to their 3 and 4 year olds? If you don't belong to an extremely high-earning two family household, Dr. Flanagan's practice is not for you. You cannot predict from one year to the next if you can afford for your child to be seen at this practice.

I have been searching, feverishly, for a good dentist in my new home (Atlanta). It's impossible to…read morechoose one because I know it will never compare to Arlington Dental Excellence. Dr Ghanim does beautiful work and it runs in the gene pool. More impressive is his son, who was so young at the time - I think his name is Ali. I still talk about him to this day. He did the bulk of the work on me from initial exam, to deciding on a plan, to executing it. I originally made an appointment for Invisalign. I have an underbite that refuses to correct, after years of braces as a kid - Invisalign as an adult - the whole nine yards. The money I've spent on my mouth could rival years of college tuition. Ali and I ultimately settled on replacing my veneers and the result was an unbelievable improvement while being incredibly natural looking. He's a serious artist, carefully cloning the color and shape of my teeth to transform them with the latest and greatest material (when I first got veneers, it was in 2003 - basically cement!) It's so important to feel comfortable with your dentist and I went with Arlington Dental Excellence because of him. He really talked me through every step and the end result was flawless. It was apparent something had changed about my face, but it wasn't outrageously obvious. It's no exaggeration that someone compliments my smile once a month, minimum. In addition to the top tier quality of work, the employees and the way of doing business is what will make you fall in love with this place. It's a family. Ali, his dad, at the time his mom was at the front desk and she knew me by name every time I came in for an appointment. It's incredibly difficult to find a place like this. Of the utmost importance, the pricing is beyond reasonable. I was only 26 at the time and they knew I couldn't afford 8K+ on a new smile at once. The payment plan was so reasonable, so stress-free and was the epitome of why a small business will always surpass that of a franchise or chain. I can't say enough good things about this place. I miss it so much that I'm making the outrageous decision to book a flight, a hotel, and a dog sitter just so I can get my teeth cleaned and my veneers checked in on by Ali. I can't remember the last time I wrote a Yelp review, but Arlington Dental Excellence will make you do that. Go here and here only - you won't regret it!

The two other dentists that saw the work that was done both claimed that the dentists here are negligent. Standard root canal procedure was not followed including- -Cementing my crowns so that they connected my two molars so I could not properly chew or move them and also causing cavities. -Not properly polishing after the root canal leading to food getting easily caught and causing large build ups of tartar. -Unnecessarily incredible painful drilling that lasted 2 hours + for one root canal. The numbing agent barely worked. I asked for more but it barely numbed. -They did not isolate the tooth when doing a root canal, which is against root canal procedure. -Either they did the root canal on the wrong tooth or they failed to see the tooth next to it also desperately needed a root canal I do not write this review lightly. I am solely writing this since the negligence affected me so much that I do not wish for any other person to go through such an absolutely awful experience like I did.

My opinion remains the same after my horrible experience...no one should go to Apex. Ever. And is it true the Dr. Daniel Chun who was working at Apex recently had his dentist license suspended? I was treated by him there and I had complaints. An absolutely terrible experience for me. I won't go back to Apex. And told them I wouldn't. They didn't do anything. But strangely the Arlington office called me months later this past July to tell me Dr. Chun wasn't working in that office anymore and asked if I wanted to come back since he was gone. Wow. I asked if he was no longer working for Apex, and they told me he was, just in another office. I refuse to go to a dental office that employs him at all. Clearly they knew I left because of him yet no one contacted me about it until he left? Not an office I want to trust. Even if Dr. Chun isn't there anymore.

In my case I'm left without one tooth that he extracted but never completed an implant for (because he lost his license) and without thousands of dollars for a procedure I prepaid for. However, I do really commend the dentists at the practice who filed a complaint against Chun and the investigator who did such a thorough job of assembling records and documenting Chin's malpractice.
