(Enough to cover 2 eye exams.) Why? Because Dr. Malhouf diagnosed cataracts, her policy is to bill your health insurance, not the vision plan. Since my health plan is high deductible, this meant it cost me 2x for eye exam -- once through the Vision Plan and again out of my pocket due to how they *chose* to bill it. (Note: Not once did they notify or warn me that this would happen. I found out after receiving the bill.) I contested the billing method pointing out the obvious: I paid for a service, not a diagnosis. The office was cold and impersonal and said they would not change the billing. I told them they just lost 2 clients-patients as my wife and I will find another provider that cares about the entire welfare of their client-patients. In case you are not aware, an optometrist is unqualified to treat cataracts. That is the job of an ophthalmologist. It is immoral to charge for diagnosis instead of the service performed where diagnoses are the end deliverable. I encourage you to look elsewhere for an optometrist that cares about their patient-clients.

I then went to another establishment for our glasses and contacts only to find out that Dr Nguyens office manager dipped into my contacts benefit preventing me from using my glasses benefits for my daughters glasses. I then had to come back here only to have the office manager raise her voice at me and my daughters and then charge me an additional $85 for her to release the claim she submitted fraudulently. At which point my insurance instructed me that they did indeed over charge me!
