Here is what I told him about my results: As soon as I began using the atropine drops, I was 100% satisfied. When I first found Dr. J's website, I remember reading another patient's review that said "it feels like I've gotten my life back" and that is exactly how I'm feeling. I feel like myself again thanks to the low-dose atropine drops! I've decided that from now on, I'm going to mark January 31, the day I started using the drops, on my calendar as "Atropiphany." Feels like a fitting title for the day that things turned around for me. As a 25-year-old floater-sufferer, I needed the hope that these eye drops gave me.

Results and outcome are ultimately the true measure of the value of any business, particularly a…read moremedical practice. It is also the reason people turn to Facebook and Google reviews; for honest information and input from reviewers. Working with eye floaters and determining improvement is very subjective and a very complex issue. However, I hired Dr. Johnson, "The Floater Doctor", for Yag laser Vitreolysis treatment of a large Weiss Ring floater, and unfortunately, following 2 treatments, I viewed my condition as actually worsening by about 10%. In a nutshell, my one large organized Weiss Ring floater in the side of my vision became many, many disorganized floaters in the center of my vision. That's how I quantified that my outcome represented a 10% degradation. The degradation is the result of the increased number of floaters combined with their location in my eye and the disorganized nature of those many floaters. For a bit, I thought it actually got better and I advised Dr. Johnson of that but again, in different lighting conditions have different effect and what I thought was an improvement, has since become worse again. After a couple months I've now realized that the improvement I thought I noticed was actually illusionary. Unfortunately one cannot really notice the full nature of the results of Yag Laser Vitreolysis for some time after each treatment is performed; at least until the dilation and numbing drops wear off and therefore impossible to know if the treatment was successful for an extended period of time. I would put that minimal time at twenty-four hours and then perhaps even up to several weeks following the treatment for complete results to be realized. Because I drove 800 miles each way to Arlington, TX to meet with Dr. Johnson, I wanted to make certain that I planned enough time to ensure a positive outcome and advised Dr. Johnson of that when I made my appointment and through email communications leading up to the appointment. Essentially, I was available for as long as needed. Although I did anticipate having to undergo additional treatments and had planned accordingly, I did not pursue further treatment because at the conclusion of my second treatment Dr. Johnson said that he was very happy with the results and was surprised at how clean everything looked after starting with such a large floater. Dr. Johnson then advised that he had completed the treatment and no further treatments would be necessary or indicated. That advice from Dr. Johnson lead me to understand that it was Dr. Johnson's assessment that additional treatments were not likely to produce better or more thorough results. Prior to posting this review, I did try to call Dr. Johnson but there was no answer and his phone number does not allow one to leave a message and to paraphrase, simply says that he's very busy and to email him instead. The above is my personal experience with Yag Laser Vitreolysis. I've since put together a five step analysis based upon my experience that I share (when asked) on social media with other floater sufferers who are considering Yag Laser Vitreolysis to help them decide how to proceed. #floaterdoctor #thefloaterdoctor #jamesjohnson #drjamesjohnson #drjamesjohnsonarlington #eyefloaters #weissring #wiessring #yaglaservitreolysis #vitreolysis #laservitreolysis The Floater Doctor - Treatment for Vitreous Eye Floaters #thefloaterdoctor #vitrectomy #treatmentforvitreouseyefloaters #vitreouseyefloaters

Someone arrived five seconds before me (of course her appointment was set for 10 minutes after mine as doctors do, they set appointments back to back and then they can't fulfill those timeslots so you wait forever). The front desk told me that I'd be going after that person, since it wasn't fair to her that I arrived late. But we were both gonna wait in the waiting room for a really long time anyway. It wouldn't have mattered, which is what I tried to communicate. I disagreed with how they handled the situation and chose to reschedule my appointment. They proceeded to tell lies about me to the doctor and send me a letter telling me that I can no longer be a patient there. I've always thought the staff had way too much authority in this office, this confirms it. They were definitely on a power trip! Please stay away from this place.

I was called with an estimate and advised I would need photos, dilation, and that 100% would have to be paid upon the visit. First, they hadn't even see me, have no idea what is actually wrong if anything but are already piling up the charges with "what I'm going to need." A little fishy to me. Moreover, the BCBS EOB often shows I owe less than what doctors bill, so I asked if I could pay the majority of my bill but leave a little back pending the EOB. Absolutely not. Pay now is only option or we won't see you. I get money is important but when 90% of the 'new patient' conversation focuses only on that, that is very telling of what kind of office it is. Such a turnoff. So I cancelled my appt. That was met with a smug response that projected complete apathy on their part. On a side note, looking at their combative responses from other low reviews. It pretty much confirms my decision to cancel. UPDATE 5/28/2024: Their original response was something like 'Have a great day.' As expected they couldn't help themselves and deleted that with yet another combative response to their growing negative reviews. As before they take no responsibility for anything and hammer away at excuse after excuse. They show no record of my call because I use a pseudonym for fear of retaliation.

Leaving here feeling really good about and confident in my previous retinal treatment with Dr Rostami. Kudos to him on his good work! However going forward I will be moving on over to this office. Here's why: *friendly efficient staff *very "dialed in" system here (very little waiting) *I was in and out of office in under 1 hour *Dr Choi has excellent bedside manner *Super knowledgeable about all areas effecting the retina and mine specifically *He put my big scary fears at ease *He explained things to me about the "trifecta" or perfect storm as he calls it in regards to my left eye. *This office also has a team of surgeons just like Dr Choi, season experienced and highly knowledgeable. *Dr Choi also discouraged me from Lasik with my left eye - too risky on that left eye. *Told me not to try and correct the floaters too risky Bottom line getting older sucks, being very near sighted sucks but at least I have Retina Specialists and Dr Choi in my corner! Feeling thankful! Should you choose to come here I know you're in great hands!

They didn't even open the front window to provide patients with forms until AFTER 10-15 mins after we signed the sign-in sheet. Thankfully, I already filled out the forms online, so I only had to wait an hour. :/ After waiting an hour to be called back, the gal taking images of my eyes on the OCT machine didn't even wait until the light was green. It was mostly blue or red when she snapped a shot. The medical records gal was very unkind as well. She claimed some of my meds were not real meds because they were "just over-the-counter vitamins". When I told her 2 were treatment for severe Vitamin B12 and D deficiencies, she just said, "Oh". Not, "I'm sorry." Just, a callous "Oh". When we got to allergies, she claimed my allergy to a med wasn't a real allergy. So when I told her that that's what the hospital staff told me when I was treated for the allergic reaction to the med, I just got another uncaring "Oh". Dr. Santosh Patel was no better. He decided since I only have blurry vision and difficulty reading and making out details, but don't have light flickers or floaters, then there's no way I have a macular hole. This, BEFORE he even looked at the images of my eyes or reviewed my medical records. Then he belittled my Optometrist saying, "I can't believe he thought you had a hole in your right eye when you obviously have blood leakage". I told him, "I can believe it...because it was my LEFT eye he saw the hole in, not my right." When I asked him why I have bleeding in the retinal part of my right eye, he said it's either due to my diabetes or hypertension. When I told him I have neither. He said, "Oh, then there's no reason for the bleeding since you don't have either, and you're in perfectly good health otherwise." I said, "Really? Because I've had 13 surgeries, 3 in the past year and the most recent was my 3rd heart surgery, which I had a month ago. So do you think the bleeding might be due to any of my other health issues or meds, like Eliquis?" He said, "No, it's nothing to be concerned about. It'll resolve itself." Dr. Santosh Patel told me to return in 6 months to recheck. Not happening. STAY. AWAY. FROM. THIS. OFFICE.

Approximately nine months later, I began experiencing visual disturbances and followed the advice of the surgery center to return to My Eye Dr in Murphy. I was told at that visit that the issue was "just floaters" and not cause for concern. When the symptoms did not resolve, I returned to the surgery center, where I was informed that my retina had detached -- a condition they did not treat -- and I was referred to a retina specialist. The specialist diagnosed me with a retinal detachment affecting approximately 75% of my retina, requiring emergency surgery that involved placement of a scleral buckle. The buckle changed the shape of my eye and rendered the upgraded lenses I had paid for unusable. Then, in July 2025, my right eye also experienced a retinal detachment. I am currently still recovering from this second major surgery. I can honestly say that this has been the worst medical experience of my life. Not only was there a significant delay in diagnosing a sight-threatening condition despite my efforts to seek help early, but I also feel the situation was mishandled at multiple points. The consequences have been life-altering, both financially and physically. I am sharing this in the hopes that no one else has to endure the same level of frustration, suffering, and loss of vision that I have experienced.
