(Updated) We had some sewage water back up in our basement that flooded the floor of our basement…read morebathroom. We needed to pull up the basement tile, pull the toilet and sink, and sterilize the area that had been contaminated. Servpro gave us what we considered to be a reasonable itemized estimate of $750 to do the entire job, so we had them do it. As near as I can tell, they did a decent job of pulling apart our bathroom and sterilizing the area. There were 3 things that left me dissatisfied. First, we thought the estimated fee, $750, covered the whole project including putting the bathroom (toilet, sink and vanity) back together. But Servpro considers that a separate project. So we were shocked when we got another itemized estimate from them to put the bathroom back together for $3600! We thought that was outrageous so, we found another company to put the bathroom back together for under $400 - far less than the price Servpro quoted us. The 2nd issue was that the bill was $850, more than $100 above what they quoted me. I spoke to a nice woman in their billing department and said I had some questions about the itemized bill. There were some items on the bill that I didn't think belonged there. This brings us to the 3rd issue. The woman at Servpro told me that the person in charge of our project would call me back the next day and we could discuss the questions I had about the bill. Nobody called me the next day, or even the next week. Eventually I saw the futility of the situation and just paid the bill - which I'm sure is what they were hoping I'd do. I felt it was, to say the least, a questionable business practice to tell us the fee for the job was $750 but that was literally for only half the job. And then they tell us the rest of the job is $3600. And when I wanted to discuss the bill with them, I never heard back. If this experience is any guide, I cannot recommend Servpro.

I contracted Midwest Complete Construction to put a new roof on my house and unattached garage…read more The crew showed up at 7:30 AM and left at 4:PM. Entire job done. The cleanup was so good you would not have known they were ever there. They cut roof vents into the peak of the house and box vents into the garage. When asked, the owner said "we do what the house needs done" There was no additional cost added to the original estimate. They also helped me with a homeowners claim with hail damage. Hands down this is the homeroofing contractor anyone should use. I used them two weeks later for my parents roof and got the same excellent service on a difficult steep roof old Victorian farmhouse.

The scope of work was replacement of roof, soffit, facia and gutters. Howard Hawthorne was our…read moreproject manager and did a great job at making us feel comfortable with their scope of work to be completed as someone with 20+ years experience would be handling our project. That feeling was short lived is the best way to explain it. There are so many issues their work. There was 31 misplaced nails in 17' of drip edge. While replacing the roof they decided to strip the wood trim off the gable end of our roof and take a sawzall to rip 1 1/2" of facia board to install aluminum facia so they didn't have to use an aluminum brake. Absolutely no where in our contract did it state nor did they communicate or ask to demolish the wood, and damage our soffit in the process. Did not complete their scope of work and left old vents that are 20 years old, which they won't last much longer in the condition they are in. Overlapping of shingles, row of shingles above the chimney just stops for no appearant reason, multiple low shot nails, shingles aren't laying flat a complete nightmare! Do your research before hiring a GENERAL contractor as your standards of quality and installation recommendations of the manufacturer may not be met!!
