Boo was lovely and friendly and half the reason I shopped there in spite of the disorganization of product bins. He greeted me and let me pet him and sometimes followed me around the store to help me choose my purchase. I pictured Boo on guard, catching mice at night. I am bummed about this. I will not be able to go there again. I have only my memories of Boo the Cat and hope he is not too traumatized by being kicked out of a home where people loved him, by a thoughtless person. Around the end of May my wife and I found and purchased a bathroom vanity and top frm the store…read more We were directed to the loading area. I had opened the back door to my 2016 truck to put vanity top in back seat. The store manager proceeded to put vanity top in the back seat....hitting the door frame with corner of the top creating a dent in my vehicle. He then proceeded to start loading vanity into back of truck with assistance from another worker who witnessed him damage my vehicle. When I brought the damage to managers attention his reply was "I didn't think I hit it that hard". He advised me to get an estimate and they would take care of it. I got estimate immediately..a copy was faxed to him..over $1100.00 to repair it .At least one visit to the manager and multiple phone calls to both manager and Habitat director (most I have gotten no reply from)..my truck is still damaged !!! I highly recommend..if you buy something there (I NEVER WILL AGAIN) load it yourself. They damaged my truck they should pay to fix it....I will not stop until this is corrected !!

First, for those who don't know it, Value Village is not a non-profit or a charity. It is…read moreprivately owned and makes a huge profit. Nothing wrong with that, but I wish they would not try to give the impression that they are a charity. Last time I was in the cashier thanked me for donating to Diabetes. Not true, no profits are shared with Diabetes. Read about it on the internet. Now for my review of the Belleville store: Pluses: The store is clean and well laid-out, and open late hours for people like me. Minuses (some really odd minuses): - They hang up pants on the racks in an awkward sideways way, makes no sense at all so I don't shop for pants there, it is too irritating. - They push clothing and other hanging items tight together on the rack so you have some items tight together then an empty rack for a couple of feet. Why not space the items out so they can be seen. - They put sticky price tags in the worst places on an item - on the front of things where they are next to impossible to remove. Using fingernail polish remover etc. only makes a mark on the item where the glue was. THINK, people, put the stickers on the back where they can do the least damage. Especially, don't put stickers on glass! UPDATE - Most of the stickers have disappeared off the glass since I was last there. - Prices can be astronomical - more than you would pay for the item new in many cases. - Dishes. Why on earth would anybody take a perfectly nice set of dishes and break it up? So... we have a set of dishes. We decide to put the side dishes with all the odd side dishes. We decide to put the dinner plates with the odd dinner plates, completely separate from the other parts of the set. We decide to break up a nice teapot-creamer-sugar bowl set and put the teapot with the odd teapots, the creamer with the odd creamers, and the matching sugar bowl way over there with the odd sugar bowls. I can't bear to go on, it is too ridiculous. UPDATE - Last time I was in, this seems to be much improved - most dishes sets are reunited and it is so much nicer and easier to find matching things... - Along the same lines, they will take a set of curtains and price them separately, and put one curtain over here and the other matching one on a separate hanger 6 feet away. Come on, people, who buys just one curtain panel? Why not keep the set together? Clearly this boggles my mind. - Pictures are often placed sideways instead of right side up on the picture shelves. Since there is lots of room and no good reason to place the pictures sideways so they cant be seen, ya really gotta wonder who is doing these things. A chimp? No, a trained monkey could probably do better. And what is management doing while staff are placing pictures sideways? Sleeping on the job? - Although most items for sale are clean and serviceable, for some reason the furniture area is full of dirty junk that nobody would every buy. What's up with that? - Staff can be nice or they can be snarky, it's a crapshoot if you need to speak to one of them. Some are very nice and others just wish they were somewhere else. - Cashiers can get long lineups and don't call for another cashier to help. Sometimes there is only one cashier, who pays no attention (and neither does any other staff) to the long lineups. I have found that if I leave the lineup and search for a supervisor they will gladly put someone else on cash, but why cant they figure this out for themselves? (And now I've lost my place in the lineup.) All in all, it is the only game in town for some items and their system is well thought out (except for the above points).

Contrary to what a couple of other reviewers on Yelp have suggested, there was no attempt to try and sell me a replacement; rather, Steve told me that given the age of my machine and the problem I was describing, it should be fixable. In the end they had it up and running in three working days, No complaints!

After looking for reviews on Yelp regarding cremation and Funeral services I have come to realize…read morethat there are none, so let me be one of the first to tell everyone what a great service Quinte Cremation Services provides. Let me be brief here. My father passed away under unfortunate circumstances this past November, and before his death, my sister and I began a frantic search for an affordable burial. I myself called every home in Belleville, and explained our dire situation, and did not feel reassured on some of the (what I felt) outrageous expenses. Being young (under 24) and still being a student, you can imagine the balance in my bank account, zip. When we finally got in touch with Mr.Bailey, the funerary director of the Quinte Cremation Services, he treated us with nothing but care and respect. The day after my father passed away, I travelled all the way from Ottawa to Belleville, only to be greeted by Mr.Bailey himself, holding the door open while I came in. Not only was he frank about everything, he walked me through every step I needed to overcome to settle my fathers affairs. This death, being a first for me, was particularily hard, as I undertook most of this process alone. Mr. Bailey's assurance was extremely comforting to me, making what seemed to be a difficult process, so much easier with his assistance. He even called me a few days prior to picking up my fathers remains to give me an ETA and to ask how I was doing. I can highly reccomend the Quinte Cremation Services, and will never forget the kind and wonderful help from Mr. Bailey. I hate how the site (at five stars) rates it, "As good as it gets" because it doesn't really fit what I want to say. Death is not altogether a happy or pleasant experience, but the quality of service I have recieved from this establishment will always be a positive memory to me. I thank you, from the very bottom of my heart.
