After watching stuff on TV I decided to Google, not expecting to find a group in my backyard! (practically) So I jumped at the chance to go on a local History & Haunt Tour with them. We walked around the Mission museum (behind the Playhouse), HS, church, cemetery and ending at the doors of the Playhouse. As we were walking up to the doors of the Playhouse their was a strong floral scent. As the organizers thanked everyone for attending they walked towards the sidewalk. My daughter, Michelle (organizer), and myself stayed behind. I love old buildings so I asked my daughter to take a few pictures. As we walked away we heard the Playhouse doors open and slam shut!! Now these doors are huge. So you can imagine how loud that was. Before the tour ended Michelle had pulled on the doors and they were locked. We stood still for a second, turned around expecting/wishing someone to be standing there. The 3 of us ran up to the doors, we tried pulling on the doors again and they were locked and now the inside lights were on. My daughter and I stared at each other and then at Michelle. It was the weirdest feeling. We eventually caught up with everyone else and told them what they missed. We've also attended their Scary Movie Night at Savannah Cemetery. That was cool. We also made it to Paranormal Night II which I convinced my husband to attend. We're planning on going to the meet-up at Devils Gate Dam. I listened to Michelle's GB session on Facebook, can't wait! On the car ride home from their events I always tell my daughter...."we found our people"! So believers and non-believers attend one of their local events. We were spoiled and treated like VIPs throughout. Highlights include: Temples - so many Buddhist temples, beautiful and unique. Elephant sanctuary - A highlight! Up close and personal with these majestic creatures. We walked with them, made and fed them medicinal treats. Tuk Tuk tour - a VIP tour of the streets of Chang Mai. So fun and enjoyable. It was made of collected recyclables and construction rubble that spanned many decades and took several friends and volunteers to build it. For Michael, however, the lifetime inspiration was first sparked at the age of 9. His love for canons was where it started and the rest is history you can hear about on the tour. But don't just show up like we did randomly one day. Our guide, Ansley, was respectful, knowledgeable, approachable, and friendly. She really brought the stories to life and made everyone feel comfortable asking questions. The vintage funeral car was such a cool and fitting touch for the Manson Family Murders Tour (and the main reason why I booked the tour). About 80% of the experience was spent in the car, which was cozy and gave us plenty of time to soak in the history while listening to music from the era. Including Manson, The Beach Boys, and The Beatles, to name a few. We also made three stops along the way to get out, take photos, and see key locations up close. As a mortician, the experience carried an extra layer of meaning. I actually helped funeral direct the service for the LaBiancas' granddaughter (who had the same fate as her grandparents). So hearing and seeing this history firsthand felt deeply personal and surreal. If you're into true crime or Los Angeles history, this tour is an absolute must. We stopped at the Clifton amd before we entered heard all about Clifford Clinton, his efforts to clean up LA, his wife, his mistress, his attempted suicide and finally how all the of the aforementioned managed to find a way to co exist until his death. Chris was well spoken, articulate, funny and very personable. The others on the tour were cool people too- I met two women from my hometown of Boston and ended getting dinner with another couple of people after the walk. The entire experience lasted a little over three hours with bathroom breaks and a martini from the Clifton thrown in the mix. I'm so glad I chose these guys vs a commercialized van on a people safari in LA. I really wanted to experience DTLA from the perspective of a truth seeker, mesmerized by its architecture, history and seedy history. I could feel the energy in some of these places- magical. Our tour guide was Steven and he's the wittiest and most cosmopolitan! Our other French guides were equally great! Some of the Italian ones though are a little bit hard to understand -Great hotels! Clean and all 4-star! My favorite was the one in France because of the rainshower (or whatever you call it). -We got to see a lot of places in the short amount of time ( which can be hectic for some but I already knew what I signed up for so I was game!) -We almost didn't get to go in the St. Peter's Basilica (as the Pope made a last min decision to say a mass for the youth) but the Steven, local tour guide Maria and bus driver Vincenzo made it all possible by switching up our itinerary and maneuvering our way around the Vatican. -Some dinners are already provided in trip so that was awesome -The last dinner we had on the tour was in Italy and both tour groups (RItz and Peony) had wine, dinner and free entertainment courtesy of a soprano and tenor! We had a lot of fun! CONS: -Can be hectic - sometimes you don't get to the hotel until 9pm and wake up call is 6am -Time at tourist spots can be limited -There is a lot of walking so make sure to wear sturdy and comfortable shoes! Tips: -Make sure to bring a universal adapter! We had to borrow one from the hotel lobby -and sometimes they're out! London, Paris, and Italy are all different! Wifi is NOT free in the continent (in the hotel lobby it is) -Make sure to pay the optional trips and tour guide and driver tips first before you run out of shopping money! -Change money beforehand. We had ours exchanged in Chase. Looking for a money changer can be problematic -Sometimes you have to pay for restrooms (1 euro or 50 cents) -Watch out for pickpockets!

This issue was brought up to the leader, Wei Wei, who did not make any changes to the already paid for lunches & dinners! If you didn't like the food, tough luck. If lucky, I had white rice & bread for lunch & dinner. I went to bed hungry every night! A total waste of over $7000.00! I would never recommend Ritz Tours to anyone & am spreading the word!
