Don't worry if you don't have gear, they do and don't worry if you are just tagging along with someone who loves to fish. A great time will be had. The yacht is so clean and very comfortable. There are bathrooms and places to sit. The Captain and crew are so nice. They are very helpful for people just starting out and they know how to help the seasoned fisherman. You can also charter the yacht to spread ashes of a loved one. I have not done that, but some were doing that before we boarded and they had a lovely little ceremony for their parents. There is also a lot to do right in the Marina before or after. You will love it.

Whenever we have family or friends visiting from out of state or overseas, it's one of our favorite activities because it's a relaxing way to see the Port of Long Beach, the Queen Mary, and, if you're lucky, the sea lions. We brought another group yesterday, and everyone enjoyed the tour. The only downside, in my opinion, is the boats used for the harbor tour. Yesterday we were on the Kristina, and in the past we've also been on the Caroline, which we chartered for my mother's ash-scattering ceremony about 14 years ago. Both vessels are showing their age. I also think the marketing could be clearer. The photos on the website and many travel sites prominently feature the newer catamarans, which gives the impression that those are the boats used for the harbor tour. I actually called ahead to ask and learned that the harbor tours use different vessels. While I appreciated getting the correct information, many first-time visitors probably wouldn't think to ask and may expect the newer boats shown in the advertising. The harbor tour itself is still worthwhile, and we'll likely continue bringing our guests because we genuinely enjoy the experience. I just hope Harbor Breeze considers updating or refurbishing the harbor tour vessels and making the marketing a little clearer so guests know exactly what to expect.

In our case we had to go upstairs with that little piece of paper and a server upstairs greeted us and showed us to our table very quickly. Then almost immediately our server who was going to be attending us for the next two hours greeted us and offered more champagne. I mean they kept our glass full entire time we were there. Amazing service. It is not just brunch there are also plenty of non-breakfast items. If you're seated on the first or second floor, make sure you visit both floors for food because each floor offers different options. And you are welcome to both ofc. And don't forget to walk around (leave your table) while the cruise is going around the marina for 2 hours. You want to visit the top deck. That's where the beautiful views are. Plenty where to sit too up there. This was our first time and it will not be my last. Also it is family friendly so if you want to take your kids you can. Except I didn't see any kids when I went. So keep that in mind.

It turns out that our server, Daniel, was actually my wife's student when he was in middle school. He was was super nice and attentive, took care of us the for the entire cruise. Everyone that went really enjoyed themselves and said they would book another boat ride with the same captain and boat. Before the day we sailed out I asked a million and one questions and they were all answered in a timely manner. Instructions on how to prepare for the charter were clear. Directions to where the dock is located were clear as well. They recommend buying Dramamine for motion sickness. You should get it even if you don't think you'll get sick. My group and I did a morning charter and were back by the afternoon. I thought that was perfect since it wasn't too hot while we were out in the ocean. Can't wait to book another boat ride.
