But Gupta told me she wasn't involved in any data checking or appointment decision making until I went to ER. She said it was all on the nurse practitioner. - What?! Why?! She said it was strange I was scheduled at week 11. It's usually week 8. - Whose responsibility?! Who's bearing the consequences? I asked her how I know if there was ever a fetal pole or not, she said "ya we don't know." 2) the nurse practitioner, Mahnaz, just kept telling me even an earlier sonogram wouldn't make any change to the result. - what about the data for me to know what actually happened? And she just did what every OB would do. - without asking her OB? She told me she didn't know I tried to make an earlier appointment. It was all the front desk girl. - Seriously?! At the end, she just told me "I need to go to see my patient. You can talk to the office manager because you and I are not getting anywhere!" Next thing I knew, she slammed the door and left me in the room by myself. - What a jerk! It hurts like so many bad words. I'm surprised she does this for living. She should be fired. 3) If you want to get their attention, consider to share your experience here, they will call you right away. ---- Worst experience! No matter how much I told the NP, Mahnaz, after I signed up to Gupta about my advanced age and my last miscarriage which was within a year, the NP just gave me very broad info intake and 2 blood work in week 5. I had to be the one to request for blood work in week 6 when I saw my HCG wasn't doubling. No more blood work scheduled till the miscarriage. My first sonogram was scheduled at week 11. - Ridiculous! I called and requested a few times to have an earlier sonogram. I was told the Dr said it's not necessary!!! I feel very dismissed from this place on me or whatever risk I am going through. One star bc there's no zero star option. Just know that all the negative reviews here and on Google are not coincidence.

They have TVs in every room and even kids size chairs in the waiting room. I was seen within 10 minutes of getting here. What really impressed me is how much they listened and took my needs into account. As a nursing mother, some treatment paths are not ideal, and they were happy to direct a course of treatment that wouldn't interfere with my breastfeeding. Dr Imani and the nurses really listen and care about their patients. I will be back the next time someone in my family feels ill. I can't recommend enough; this was a truly positive experience despite my not feeling well. Great job!

I had my physical done here roughly 6 months ago. The labs she ran were hands down impressive!! They were a 7 page report and in very fine detail, not to mention color coding! We made a follow up appointment to review the labs line by line and she made sure I understood what every reading was and how it affected my health. Here is where the disappointment comes in. We scheduled a 3 month follow up. As we got closer, I had to reschedule due to my travel with work. After several, I do mean several (ie 4+) phone calls trying to reschedule, I was finally able to speak to the front office. The appointment was on a Monday and I did receive a confirmation phone call on Friday, reminding me to fast. I drove to the office Monday morning for my appointment only to find the doors locked and lights off. I called the office several times and knocked on all windows and doors. Clearly I was forgotten about. Granted, there could have been an emergency in which Dr. Pretniss was not able to come in that day, however, where was my phone call? Where was the staff??? Long story longer- don't come here unless you have lots of time and patience to waste on an unprofessional practice. He is very matter-of-fact and practical during pregnancy and prenatal care. His office doesn't suggest excessive scans or testing that are not necessary for appropriate updates on baby's growth and development. I've always felt confident and comfortable under his care. I will say where he really shone was during delivery. My water broke but I was not in active labor so I was on the clock for a VBAC. He involved me in the decision-making process where he suggested a double balloon foley and Pitocin (miserable but effective), and he helped me achieve a VBAC with my giant baby boy, calmly managing several situations (including shoulder dystocia) that would qualify as obstetric emergencies. Once my son was delivered safely, he was cracking jokes right away and I thought all went by the book! It was only after speaking with my husband and my physician father-in-law (where he said "that is one amazing doctor if he made all of that seem normal!") that I realized his calm confidence, composure, and clinical decision-making had such an impact on the situation. We've since relocated about 4 hours away and I am pregnant with #3. As a testament to his skills and my level of belief and comfort in him, I've been traveling up to Dallas for prenatal visits. I have even considered inducing to be sure he delivers our next baby. Unfortunately we will have to look more locally, especially since it's #3, but I would go with Dr. Downey again in a heartbeat and trust him implicitly. You trust your OB with yours and your baby's life, and that is the case with Dr. Downey.
