5-Star Review for Dr. Michael Tuyen Nguyen, DDS…read more I stumbled upon Dr. Michael Tuyen Nguyen's office in January 2025 after chipping a tooth I'd been avoiding treatment for--out of fear--for nearly a year. From the moment I walked in, the experience was completely different from any dental visit I'd had before. X-rays revealed that not only was my chipped tooth an issue, but another tooth--completely painless--was actually in worse shape. Dr. Nguyen explained everything clearly, including the surgical procedure on my gums, the crowns needed, and my payment portion. We got started right away. In total: First crown was completed quickly and with minimal pain. A second visit followed the next week for the other side. Then, I came in for crown fittings--both were matched perfectly to my natural teeth (I'm a smoker, so this is no small feat). He warned me there was a 50/50 chance of needing a root canal, but he managed to save the tooth without it. I really appreciated his honest approach. I was so impressed that I told everyone I knew about this place. Fast forward 7 months--an old root canal from a previous dentist cracked at the gum line. I booked again, and Dr. Nguyen found the neighboring tooth was the real issue, requiring two crowns. The plan was clear, and again the goal was to save the tooth. He did just that. On the Monday two weeks later, the final crowns were placed. They were flawless--same color, great shape, totally natural. I can't forget Annie, his assistant, who's equally amazing. She made me feel at ease, chatting about her workouts and her kids. I even received text reminders over the weekend for my Monday appointments. They really go the extra mile. This is an office that cares about their patients, and it shows in every detail. I'm thrilled to have found my new dental home. Next up: routine check-up in 6 months!

The dentist did not show me the xray and explain the problem of conditions of my teeth but kept asking me what teeth I felt pain. Then Annie only concern about bring in cash to pay. Sweet talk but not caring for patients at all. I only need to know what teeth cause pain and fix the problem, but he did not concern about my worry. I will never come back to this place. Went to another dentist near by and got explanation of the teeth conditions and treatment plan with less money and good quality service.

The "deep cleaning" was completed in a single visit and was very different from deep cleanings I had received elsewhere in the past. There was little local anesthetic injection, which surprised me. When I asked why the procedure was being done differently, I was told that doing it this way was more convenient and would save me an additional trip. However, afterward, I did not notice much improvement. And I found out the out of pocket charge was almost doubled compared to my new dentistry. What concerned me even more happened during my most recent visit. A new dental assistant was taking X-rays. After the cleaning, I wanted to take a picture of the X-rays for my own reference, and I was told that not all of my teeth had been captured in the X-rays. This left me wondering how a complete assessment of my teeth could have been made. Also, Every routine cleaning was almost just done in a hurry. At nearly every visit, the dentist also commented that I had significant buildup and often recommended Invisalign to straighten my teeth. When I asked why Invisalign was necessary, I was told that my buildup was related to my teeth not being straight. I understand that crowded or misaligned teeth can sometimes be more difficult to clean, but I would have appreciated a clearer explanation of why orthodontic treatment was being recommended in my particular case and what other options were available. Overall, these experiences left me uncomfortable with the care I was receiving, and I ultimately decided not to return.

I have always struggled with dentists who have talked down to me (I have a lot of fillings because I did not have the best hygiene as a kid), but Dr. Tuong-Oanh Nguyen's entire approach to her work has been so refreshing. She always makes me feel at ease, takes the time to explain treatment options, and is great at building rapport. I appreciate that she also lets me know when I am doing well because it helps motivate me to continue focusing on my dental health. I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes after checking in to be escorted to my room. All of the staff is extremely kind and are always willing to answer questions. I appreciate that they always remind me of what my insurance covers as well.
