I never actually had any work performed by R&A, but somehow the customer service experience still managed to short-circuit itself. I submitted a Yelp project to get a quote on installing a smart thermostat. Rick called me immediately and told me he was driving, so if I texted him my name and address, he'd get back to me in about 40 minutes with a quote. Sounds reasonable. So I texted him. And waited. And waited some more. After more than two hours of radio silence, I sent a simple "Hello?" Suddenly, Rick called me back sounding like I'd just sent him 47 texts, hired a private investigator, and filed a missing persons report. "Umm... I got your message. I'm going to have someone call you with a quote." Great. That's literally all you had to text me two hours earlier. Eventually someone called and quoted me $259 to install a thermostat. Not exactly a Yelp special, but fine. We scheduled the appointment for 10:00 a.m., and I rearranged my schedule to make it work. A few days later, Rick left me a voicemail asking if they could move my appointment to 9:00 a.m. instead. He specifically said to call or text him back. So I texted him back. Can you guess what happened next? If you guessed "absolutely nothing," congratulations, you've worked with R&A before. I explained that I couldn't do 9:00 because I had another appointment at 9:15 and had already moved things around for the original time. No response. Not a yes. Not a no. Not a "See you at 10." Not even a thumbs-up emoji. At this point, I wasn't sure if they were coming at 9:00, 10:00, or sometime during the next presidential administration. So I canceled. The funniest part? The second I canceled and pointed out that this was now the second communication failure, Rick magically responded almost immediately: "Okay. Sorry for the poor communication on our end." Amazing. The fastest response of our entire relationship happened after they lost the job. If their electricians communicate with each other the way they communicate with customers, I hope they don't work on anything that requires wires to connect. read more

Thorough, Professional, and Customer-Focused I recently bought a home and wanted to get a clear understanding of the electrical system while also bringing it up to modern standards. When Tim from R&A Enterprises came out for the initial assessment, we started with the panel. To say it was a mess would be an understatement. As Tim put it, "You're not in immediate danger, but..." I had a ceiling and light fan installed but the light was too bright and I couldn't dim the light and I didn't want to have to get up every time to turn it off. So, R&A Enterprises were recommended to me and they installed a dimmer and a remote control pad. There ended up being a problem with the light on the fan because it wasn't turning off when I used the remote control. So I contacted R &A and they immediately sent out a tech to fix it. The problem was it looked like the light was off until it came nighttime, and the light never really turned off. I called back again and explained what was going on and Rick called me right back and said he would personally come back to try and fix it. He took the time to figure out why it wasn't working and ended up figuring a way to make it work without us having to return our fan. Wow! Talked to Rick about needing some new transformers. He spent a significant amount of time on the phone with me, looking at pictures and researching replacements. In the end, he suggested I buy them myself and install myself (super easy). He even found the parts online and sent me the link. I spent $30 on three transformers, and installed myself. Its been a while since I needed an electrician, so I did my share of research before picking R & A Enterprises. They truly do deserve to be a 5 star rated company. The communication with Rick over the yelp messaging system and email was phenomenal. Our originally scheduled appointment became a problem for me, I sent Rick a note, and he changed the appointment. THEN, the snow storm put me in a place where I could not make it to the property to meet the electrician, so very easily Rick changed the appointment again. All my questions were answered by Rick. Thank you so very much. Then Daniel showed up to do the work. He called me when he was on his way, and he showed up on time, as expected. He very quickly got to work doing some troubleshooting. By the time he was done, he figured out why I had a problem, and resolved that problem very quickly. Since we still had some time on the 2 hour minimum, I was prepared and I had Daniel fix several things, install some dimmers and a new dryer outlet, install a light, and had him fix a noise coming from the bathroom fan. Daniel was very knowledgeable and prepared, he was also respectful of me, the property, his company and his profession. Next time I need any electrical work, R & A will be my provider of choice, and I will ask for Daniel.
