Four years ago, Blue Sky installed a furnace for me. Last week I called them saying that it was misfiring, and was having trouble heating the house. They sent out a technician, who examined the furnace for an hour, showed me what was happening (there apparently was something misinstalled or not done correctly) and then told me they were going to replace it. No fight, no argument, no battle. Just the next day a new furnace was delivered and installed. No charge. Most companies would have fought about a product they installed four years ago. Blue Sky clearly understood what the right thing to do was and did it. I've been a customer of theirs for a long time, and I've never been more sure that we've been making the right decision by giving them our business. read more

Kristopher came and saved the day yesterday after my AC quit working! He arrived well within the window of time, and was extremely polite and friendly. He diagnosed the issue quickly (capacitor needed to be replaced). Kristopher quickly took care of it, and went on to check the entire system to make sure everything was working properly. He cleaned off the condenser as an extra courtesy, which I really appreciate! By the time he was finished the AC will running perfectly. Another great experience with Blue Sky! read more

Was explicit about my needs. My in-laws house had an exterior hose bibb that needed replacing. The access was unfettered, the repair was easy. If I lived closer - I would have done the work myself, but with online estimates ranging from $250-500 I figured two hours in traffic was not worth it. My initial contact with Blue Sky explicitly indicated that I was the client/customer they were just the homeowners. Since they are 96 and 91 years of age - getting taken advantage of is increasingly common. I wanted to be "in the loop" for the repair. I asked for notification when the technician arrived. There was also the demand for my approval on the estimate. We had planned on paying for the work - after approval. The technician arrived without contacting me - I did get a text message indicating he was "on his way" about an hour before he arrived. While waiting to hear back from the technician I received no contact from anyone - about 2:02PM I received a copy of the invoice. With my father-in-laws military discount - the un-itemized bill was well over any reasonable estimate. ($882.31) Had the on-site technician reached out to me - as they were instructed - I would have happily paid the $95 estimate fee and asked them to leave. A new exterior anti-siphon and anti-freeze faucet replacement from Home Depot or Lowes runs around $55 with tax, if you add the male to male 3/4" copper adapter, it might bump parts to $62-65 total. The invoice I received was not broken out by parts or labor or even the $95 charge. The line items were the $169.54 discount - 10% service discount, a sub-total of $826.72, State taxes of $21.50 - appears to be based on a dollar amount of $741.38, RTD taxes of $8.15 - appears to also be based on a dollar amount of $741, Lakewood, CO taxes of $25.94 - appears to be based on a dollar amount of $741. The total due was $882.31 which includes a discount. The undiscounted total would have been $910.68. This was less than 1-1/2 hours onsite - with zero contact with myself and a Visa charge from my in-laws. My wife is angry that her parents got fleeced and I am more than upset with what appears to be blatant disregard for breaking out parts and labor on an invoice while charging tax. This repair was not an emergency, it was scheduled in advance with very specific guidelines - all of that was ignored and Blue Sky Plumbing used my in-laws as an ATM. My initial reply to them yesterday, requesting a detailed invoice has gone unanswered. With what I see on Yelp.com - I am fairly certain nothing will come of any of this. Old people take notice - if you have Blue Sky Plumbing come into your house for an estimate, beware! They appear to be focused on money well before service - they might be polite, but billing amounts that high for a simple repair is unconscionable. read more

Overpriced and slow to respond in my past experiences. They did take the lead in conducting a recall notice on our Triangle Tube boiler system but the overall coordination between us, the front office, and the technicians should have been better. read more

Travis installed a new light fixture for me in my stairwell. He replaced a recessed light with a regular fixture, which meant he had to install a Can Conversion kit before he could install my lighting fixture. The landing in my stairwell was narrow, barely room for his ladder, and there was a cathedral ceiling. So, even with a 12-foot ladder, he had to reach above his head to do the installation. Travis was conscientious, efficient and easy to work with--answering my many questions. And, based on our conversations, I had absolute confidence in his expertise. After the installation was complete, he cleaned up the area thoroughly and took the trash with him. (This is not something I necessarily expect from skilled tradespersons.) Should I ever need an electrician again, I will call Blue Sky and request Travis. I am delighted with my new fixture and the job Travis did. read more

great service, not the cheapest, but they do everything very well and very professional and guarantee parts and labor for a year with new or replacement installations. Had HVAC (furnace/AC) replaced and did it in two days as they promised. Very courteous and professional service people. They are very well trained and experienced and pay attention to all the details, including making sure everything is up to code (e.g., they had to replace 30 year old flue ducts to be double walled as required by code). They also replaced everything that might break down in the next 10-15 years (e.g., condensation pump, drain lines, all connections, etc.). read more

We have used Blue Sky for toilet installation, drain cleaning, gas hookup, and installation of a new HVAC system. Each individual who worked on these projects was on time, efficient, very friendly, explained everything as they went, and left our home clean and neat. Their communication is excellent as individuals and also as a company, whether dealing with the workers or the office. I am so happy we found them. read more

UPDATE: I was offered a refund and this satisfies me. The service is fine, but very overpriced. They came out this morning for a 20-minute fix and the invoice was $390. They needed a part which I was told was $60-70. I asked for an itemized receipt accounting for parts and labor and I was told they don't do that. They don't provide itemized receipts and their prices are "all inclusive." Try as I might, I couldn't get any record of their labor cost. The lack of transparency is disturbing. Not likely to hire them again. read more

Way Overpriced!! The price quoted for a water heater replacement was twice what the next 3 companies said they would charge. $4500 quoted by Blue Sky. About $2200 from the other 3. Plus the $89 show-up. And I could not get an hourly labor cost. Everything was "by the job". When I asked why so much? The answer "Because we have to pay for a lot of overhead: office space, managers, lawyers..." Lawyers!?! Nope. I'm not going to pay for your lawyers. I'm sure that Blue Sky would have done a fine job if I had used them, but I didn't, because, you know, I have to pay my rent too. Extra star for excellent customer service. read more

Turned out the Lutron "router" had become disconnected, so no wifi communication...NO CHARGE FOR THE TRIP! read more

I was quoted $2,500 to extend an above ground gas line 15ft along my garage... and they charged me $90 for the estimate.

Emergency call for a furnace not working. The tech came out and made a diagnosis. They tried to get my mom to pay $351 to open their warehouse to get the part. then another $800+ to go get the part! For a total of almost $3000. We declined the work and called another company who made a completely different diagnosis and fixed the furnace in less than 10 minutes for a small fraction of the original estimate. I sent them an email expressing my concerns but no one ever reached out to me to discuss. I'd be very careful using this company, especially where the elderly are concerned. read more

Blue Sky used to be a stellar company. I used them for over two decades at two different properties and have spent over $40,000 on their services. Unfortunately, the company really seems to have changed for the worse in recent years. Twice this year, we had multi-day jobs scheduled and confirmed, only to have them rescheduled at the last minute without consulting us. More troublesome was that they charged us a premium ($7,400) for an electrical panel upgrade. The reason for the upgrade was that our prior panel was out of breaker space. Despite the premium fee, they replaced the panel with a builder-grade panel (the kind you might buy at Lowes) and chose a model that only had one additional breaker space. We learned this 4 months later when we needed to add a 240V breaker and learned that we were out of space. Needless to say, I changed vendors immediately. The solution was to replace the new panel with a higher-capacity one or add a subpanel. The cost was the same. So I spent another $5,000 to replace the electrical panel that Blue Sky installed over the summer. read more

I would have given them a zero but 1 is as low as you can go. I called them to find a leak in the bathroom. They repaired the toilet with 30.00 worth of parts and charged 630.00. They never found the leak because they didn't want to cut into the ruined drywall. Wanted to bring in a restoration coco do the work. Then come back and fix the leak once it was found. read more
