Aside from that and being seated twice. It was awesome seeing Laura in a manager position. As I said in a previous review that FEEL GOOD SHOT is LIFE! I ordered a flight of just that plus two! Well worth it! Although my waitress tried to update me a mocktail in a mug, and honestly when I saw it, straight NO. Ordered the Crispy Brussel sprouts, first batch came out burnt (from sight to smell you could tell). Immediately sent them back without touching them and got a fresh batch expedited by Laura. Proceeded to order the Lunch Break honey pecan chicken salad and tomato soup for my mother she loved everything but the shredded Romain lettuce chunks. I ordered the Salmon with green beans and breakfast potatoes. Unfortunately the green beans were swimming in a greasy liquid, so substituted more Brussel sprouts. The sweet potato pancakes were delicious and crispy edged. Last who ever made that salmon is top tier, crispy seared outside, yet flaky moist inside! Third time a charm!

The food was very fresh and tasted out of this world. Special honor for the wonderful biscuit and delicious jam/jelly that came with it. The biscuits were super flakes and very battery, the buttermilk was such a compliment to top it all. My overall experience was grand, I will definitely return another day too try the chicken.

Well, at $14.50 back then for the buffet, I thought I was in heaven. A huge array of choices that will induce the heart attack I was looking for. Price has obviously gone up a tick, but it's still a great deal imho. Since the restaurant was super busy, everything felt extremely fresh. As for mains, I guess I enjoyed the fried chicken a lot since I keep refilling ny plate with it. I also tried a little bit of everything else, including the bbq pulled pork, fried catfish nuggets, and meatloaf (Tuesday special). They were all good. As for sides, there were plenty to choose from. All the southern staples are here, like mac & cheese, collard greens, coleslaw, potato salad, hush puppies, etc. Don't forget to get some desserts too. I like their peach cobbler. A place like this can only survive in the south. I wish we had something remotely resembling Doc's back in NYC, but it'll never work. I'll just have to visit the south more often for gems like these.

What an amazing concept. I can say that the food quality is pretty awesome especially considering the buffet style restaurant. I've been twice now and both times the food was awesome and they don't pull back on anything here. The only issue is they do have some weird hours but for what you get and how they do things it's totally worth a trip during lunch. I highly recommend hitting this spot if you're a fan of BBQ and have ever felt like you didn't here get enough of your favorite BBQ dishes.

The restaurant is medium-sized with a small patio of about six tables. It was a beautiful day, so we chose to sit outside since the dining room was a bit loud. It took a couple of minutes for a host to seat us, but we did arrive during peak lunchtime on a Monday, so it wasn't a big deal. Once seated, our server, Seavy, was fantastic. He was very attentive, friendly, and had a great personality. I ordered the brisket plate, my husband had the half chicken, and the third person in our party ordered the brisket sandwich. My brisket was fantastic--very moist and a generous portion. The hush puppies were tiny but crispy and delicious, and the bacon-wrapped jalapeños were outstanding. My husband really enjoyed his chicken, which was also moist, along with the collards and coleslaw. The brisket sandwich was huge and came with coleslaw and a side of mac & cheese, and everything was very good. What stood out most was the portion size and the quality of the food for the price. Overall, we had a great meal and would definitely come back.

The rotating cocktails are where I feel that the quality has started to slip in the past year or two. The last few times I've been I haven't particularly enjoyed my drinks, which sucks because the vibe and service here are great. It's not like I'm ordering anything off menu, just the drinks on menu that use base liquors that aren't bourbon. I brought my family here this weekend and felt a little disappointed and embarrassed at the quality of the drinks for the price. Paid right away, I think it's around $15 which includes all you can eat, dessert and drink. Cashier automatically gave me a senior discount. Excellent pulled pork BBQ, in 3 or 4 different styles/ flavors. My favorite was the smoked whole hog where you pull off what you want. Everything was fresh and delicious. Top of the line all you can eat BBQ for South Carolina and I can't think of any BBQ that beats the price. Plenty of seating and it was not too loud. We were able to carry on great conversation. Highly recommend. Sign out front said they have been serving BBQ for over 60 years.
