Had R&B remove four trees from my back yard, and grind down the stumps. Two of the trees were over 40' tall and were near the utililty lines and my garage. They came out, surveyed the site, and gave me a price which was very reasonable (and less than the local SF Peninsula companies). They were ready to start work the next day but I wasn't available so scheduled them for the following week. They came at 7:30 AM to set up, and waited until 8AM to start work (at our request - due to local noise ordanances). They were very professional, took down the trees over 2 days, no damage or misshaps at all. They brought a truck and a mulcher to remove all the branches/trunks. Cleaned up at the end of both days, left our driveway spotless! Sent out two guys to grind the stumps over the weekend, and they did a good job, but didn't remove the chips. But the first team came back early the next week, hauled off the chips, and did a final cleanup. The price I payed was what was negotiated before they started, no hassles or questions, and the accepted my personal check as payment. To be honest I was a bit nervous at first because they didn't do a formal quote on paper, just told me the price. But I emailed the forman the same day he gave me the estimate and repeated the verbal terms he told me, he agreed via email that was what was decided on, and he was good to his word. No issues or questions about the price or what they would do. I'm glad I used R&B, they did good work, exactly as promised, at half the cost and much sooner then the local companies I had also gotten estimates from. read more

My wife requested bids from 18 companies and four came out and gave bids. R&B's bid was half what the next lowest bid was. I scheduled an appointment online for the same week. The day of the appointment I was called to see if the workers could come early, which was fine. The job was to remove two ~100 foot palm trees and grind their stumps, and remove a ~70 foot sycamore tree that is entangled with utility lines, leaving its stump. After some thought we also asked that the branches of the sycamore be left as firewood, and the chips from the palms be left for landscaping. The crew arrived promptly after the call and worked efficiently for a few hours. As the pictures show, the palm trees were so thoroughly removes that the spots they were planted have to be found by feel, and the sycamore tree was left as a low stump. We also received a big pile of logs, branches and chips. One thing I didn't like was that the "chips" we received were apparently only the palm branches, which are large pieces and not ideal as ground cover, while the team drove away with a whole truck filled with what was probably chips from the palm trucks and many sycamore branches. I had asked for all the wood chips, and would like to have been asked about it if it wasn't clear. I suppose the work crew is so used to cleaning everything up that leaving piles of debris felt unnatural to them. Another problem is that after the sycamore tree was removed, I could see that there is still a plum tree with branches in the utility lines. I wish one of us had noticed this when we were planning the job. read more

I had R&B trim 3 trees plus cut down and grind the stump for 2 other trees (a MASSIVE Liquid Amber and a dead plum tree). They also threw in the grinding of a tiny stump that I had forgotten about during the initial consult. I thought the pricing was reasonable and the workers were timely, polite, efficient, and communicative while on my property. I also really appreciated that they provided the invoice via email so I can make the payment online. The entire process was clear from start to finish and it made it very easy for me. I like how the trimmed trees look now - they've maintained their 360° balance and leaf crown to maintain shade, while cleaning up the lower branches and making it look cleaner and safer (no more falling branches). My parents had a tree fall in their backyard, and another one was about to fall, so they called this company to have them removed along with the stumps. Had one guy come out to look at the damage, he gave them an estimate for an amount that they were comfortable with. When they get there to actually do the work, another guy gives them a new amount that's almost double, wanted it all in cash, and didn't even take out the stumps. First of all, wanting it all in cash is sketchy as hell. Second, they didn't even finish the job and wanted more. Like I understand it was an estimate, but wtf.. whatever the case, it almost felt like they were trying to scam my parents, who are on the older side so they seemed like easy targets.. do better. read more

We used this tree service several months ago to remove a large tree and a ton of large overgrown shrubs at the we home had just purchased. We were happy with the service so we called them again to have one last tree removed since we just discovered it was in dire shape. We waited two weeks to have a medium sized tree removed. I could not understand why it would take so long to come out, but was all they had open so that was what we got. We never heard from anyone confirming the time of arrival, or that we were still on the schedule. I called the night before to get the time of arrival. I was told 10am, but that they weren't sure since the schedule wasn't in front of the person. I said "text me if it's a different time." I never heard anything, so I was left to believe it would be that time. The next day no one showed up at 10 and I waited until 11 to contact the supervisor. He called me back at 11:13am and said 30-45 minutes. There were no other attempts to contact me to tell me otherwise. I waited until 1:37pm and text them to ask how much longer. I was told 20 minutes. 40 minutes later the crew showed up. They told my wife that they weren't going to stump grind until Monday. This was not told to us when we scheduled this. We have our yard covered while we solarize it in preparation of having the landscaping redone. We need to keep it covered and need to have time over the weekend to take care of that. If the stump grinding is delayed, we now have no time. I called and asked when it would be stump grinded. They said they didn't know why the crew said that, and that it would be done the same day. Then called me back and said Monday. Then called me back and said Sunday. Sunday morning I got a text that the person who does the stump grinding didn't show up, and it would have to be Monday. I didn't even bother asking for a time, since it clearly doesn't matter to them. I was shocked I even got a text. I am beyond frustrated at the absolute lack of communication and the ineptness of scheduling. I, like most people, do not want to spend my day waiting for people show up. I was told several times "I'm sorry about the bad customer service". Apologies don't mean anything when they are followed by empty words, and that is all I got from this entire experience. This was a huge inconvenience and to say the least I'm very disappointed. I can easily say that I'll never use this company again, because I literally have no trees left on my property. We had a large 40' plus sycamore tree in our backyard that had a a big split in the main tree branch. We called for quotes decided on R&B because of their good reviews. It was decided it was best for the tree to come down since it would be lopsided once the damaged branch was removed. They arrived this morning on time. R and B is a professional outfit, and it pays to hire professionals. We have 6 queen palms, and 5 are around a pool. Until this year we used a single man contractor to trim these trees. He hauled the debris away in a pickup. This year we used R and B. They sent out a five man crew, complete with chipper and tools to do the job right. They were here and gone in 2 hours, and except for the trimmed trees, it was impossible to tell they were even here. These guys were fast, efficient, and didn't need any monitoring by us. Bought our house in 2022 and it seems the last owners that did any tree taming were back in 2002. Even though we were trimming away at our "jungle," It was obvious that we needed professional help. My neighbor used these guys for some tree trimming, so I thought I would try them. Albert came and saw my tree problems, including a large tree encroaching over my yard from a yard next door, and gave me a very fair estimate. We decided it was best to cut down three trees, trim three more, cut the branches we could reach from the encroaching yard, and wait on the extra cost of stump removal, since I had not decided what I was going to do with the yard.
